Avatar m tn Migraine headaches may cause throbbing, pulsating type of headache which may start on one side of head. There may be associated nausea and vision problems. Conditions like temporal arteritis can also produce severe throbbing headache, nausea, vision problems etc.Sometimes serious conditions like meningitis, encephalitis, brain tumor, arteriovenous malformation, brain aneurysm and high blood pressure can cause these symptoms. Take adequate rest and sleep for at least 7-8 hours daily.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. For persistent head and neck pains, possibilities like pinched nerve in cervical spine, migrainous, cluster, tension and refractive errors that need to be evaluated thoroughly with the help of a neurologist here. Migraine like headache can be throbbing, one sided of face & head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes.
Avatar n tn Today I've had a sharp stabbing pain on the right side of my head. It usually lasts less than 30 seconds, but it stops whatever I'm doing since I immediately rub my head where the pain is. I sometimes get this headache 4-5 times per day. I don't normally feel them when I sleep. I don't get fuzzy vision, I don't feel dizzy. I've had this type headache in the past. Is it stress related? Or is it something more serious?

Avatar f tn It is always on the right side of face/head. It starts on the top of the right side of my head, goes down to my ear, jaw and neck then spreads across my forehead. Its almost like my skull hurts if that makes any sense???? They are pretty constant but sometimes make me nauseous and have be so bad to actually make me sick as well as SUPER sensitive to everyday smells!
Avatar n tn A migraine is a throbbing pain that is felt only on one side of the head. It is also often accompanied by other signs and symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. On the other hand, a tension headache may cause you to experience a dull, achy pain or sensation of tightness in your forehead or at the sides and back of your head which can be felt occasionally, or nearly all the time..

However Cluster headaches occur on one side of the head, but aren’t as severe as migraines. When you talk about Headaches and Migraines it gets complicated and detailed. I won't bore you with a lot of information. There are all types of Migraines and Headaches. Here's a list of some of the terms used for Migraines.
Avatar m tn Hi, Do you still experience the pressure on your head? If there is a lot of stress also, tension headache is one differential. Avoidance of stress and pain analgesics may help provide relief. Hope to hear from you. Best regards.

Avatar f tn I had pain on one side only going to eye. Also had weird sensation of being pulled to one side as if would lose balance. Hope that helps, I think what you 're describing is similar. Just in case maybe try hydrating too.

Avatar f tn i got pain on the left side of the head from the front of the head to the back of my left side of the neck what should i take or do
Avatar f tn A brain tumor needs to be checked for if any associated nausea, dizziness, weakness of part, slurring of speech etc is present. Cerebral aneurysm, head injuries are other infrequent causes of headache. You should consult a neurologist who would investigate these with blood tests, MRI and cerebral angiography if required and treat the cause as required. Take care and all the best.
Avatar f tn Over the past month I have had sharp shooting pain starting from about half way between the top of my left ear and the crown of my head moving down towards my left ear lobe. My scalp is painful to the touch at both the starting and ending positions. The last two days have been miserable because the pain is coming almost every 15 to 30 seconds and will not allow me to sleep. As I have MS and had optic neuritis, could this be related? How do I get relief?
Avatar f tn To get rid of stress you can do some exercise, walk, and yoga also. If you are facing severe headache problem, you should visit to doctor ASAP. Thanks.
