569892 tn?1353896337 This could be a tension headache due to stress. You also complain of pain in the neck. It is quite possible that the cause of pain could be cervical spondilitis or disc protrusion. I would suggest you to continue with the neck massages and exercises. Please take a second opinion with another neurologist.Take care!
Avatar n tn This type of primary headache is mainly due to stress. Rest, ice packs, avoidance of stress, muscle relaxants and pain medications may help provide relief. If it persists, check with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Could be related to stress but sounds like MS to me. I would see a neurologist soon and have some testing done.
Avatar f tn Hi...I am not MH, I am just like u ...a member looking for answers to many health questions....I was wondering if u had a MRI of ur brain and cervical spine? Have u ever been in a MVA?...had a fall?...sometimes that can play into what is going on...so can stress. Keep a journal to see if foods , stress or physical activity cause a spike in ur pain....it will help the dr dx u a bit better.
Avatar n tn Hi, Thank you for your question. Generally pain in the back portion of the head originates from the neck problems due to irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because the nerves that supply the back of the head start in the upper cervical spine. Mostly, this kind of head pain aggravates after turning head and typically occurs in patients with previous neck injuries and in patients with marked arthritis of the upper cervical spine.

Avatar f tn Hello, I'm 16 and I have had a headache for the past 2 weeks, I've read up on the Internet and my syptoms seem to link more to tension type headaches, as I'm getting the pain in my neck, back of my eyes but there's no specific place the headache is, mostly in the back of the head. But I wanted someone elses opinion.
Avatar f tn Hi, in tension headache pain can radiate from the neck, back and eyes. Tension-type headaches account for nearly 90% of all headaches. Epidemological data suggests incidence of 3% for chronic-tension type headache. "Pain is often described as a constant pressure, as if the head were being squeezed in a vise. The pain is frequently bilateral which means it is present on both sides of the head at once. Tension-type headache pain is typically mild to moderate".
Avatar f tn Hi, How are you? Can you elaborate/describe your headache? Was there any trauma to your head or neck? Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Headaches presents with muscle-contraction type of pain, sometimes accompanied by a painful "clicking" sound on opening the jaw. This can also be an Infrequent cause of headache and may be due to malocclusion (poor bite), stress, and jaw clenching. Try to relax, use Ice packs, pain relievers and identify possible sources of headache triggers.
Avatar f tn Transmission of STD or AIDS is usually through sexual intercourse and if you do not have history of this, it is likely that what you are feeling is anxiety. Tension headache is indeed stress related and may present with dull or pressure headache. Try to rest, relax, avoid stress and take pain medications if there is another attack. Take care and do keep us posted.

Avatar f tn But then I wake up this morning and the whole back of my neck is in pain, and I cant stretch it or touch it without pain. And it comes with verry annoying pains in both temples and ears and behind my eyes as well. And thats not the worst part, my shoulders both are in pain when I move them, or lift things. All the way down to the palms of my hands, and then when I change sleeping positions at night, my hips hurt the same way and all the way down to my feet ..

Avatar m tn I have been treated by a chiropractor recently and he says my headaches shouldnt be caused by the bulging disc and that I am probably experiencing tension headaches since my headache is where the base of the skull meets the neck on the right side of my head. Does anyone know if this sounds like tension headaches or are they another kind?
Avatar m tn I have also done CT Scan and it was normal. When my headache starts the muscle of my neck becomes tight and I unknowingly started to round my head to get relief from pain. I also hear some cranking sounds during this period. Some time the pain occurs on right side, sometimes on left side. when it occurs in one side of my head, I can work normally. But sometimes it occurs on both side and at that time I cannot do anything. on the top of my head, I feel like it is burning.
Avatar n tn Hi, From your post it seems that your headache could be due to neck issues. This type of headache is termed as cervicogenic headache. I would suggest you to do some neck exercises every day. Make sure to maintain a good posture while working and lying down. An X ray of neck may also help. You can also try body massage, warm showers to relax the body and keep the levels of stress low.
Avatar f tn Hello, The first possibility is of a spinal cause like cervical stenosis or degeneration which is causing nerve irritation. Nerve irritation may present with pain in the neck and when movement of the neck is there from side to side if cervical spine is involved and tingling and numbness in the upper extremities. Any spinal cause in the lower spine may be associated with tingling in the soles of feet and legs.
Avatar m tn About a day after I developed the headache I started having a weird sensation in my neck. More like a pain I have never experienced. Kind of like a tired muscle feeling. Since last week I have had the headache and neck pain is much worse radiating from the back of my head (where the two bones at the back of the head are) to my shoulders. The headache seems to be worse in the morning when I wake up and is not a constant headache.
