About a week after the event, I camed down with an upper respiratory infection and was prescribed a Z Pak. I was to take the first 2 pill the first night, a total of 500 mg and 250 mg for the following four days. My question is... do you think that is effective against eliminating Gonnorhea if I were to have it? And what other STD's could this take care of?
About a month and a half ago I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend and 3 days later my throat started to tickle at 5 days I developed a severe sore throat, fever, and chills. I went to the doctor the next day who did a strep and mono test and both were negative. He looked at my throat and said "it looked like sh*t". He prescribed me a Z-Pak and the sore throat and other symptoms cleared up within 2-3 days.
It seems that the throat bacteria were killed by the Z-Pak initially prescribed on 26 August based on my symptoms and the appearance of pus on my uvula.... Anyway, Dr. HHH was absolutely correct that my condition is not related to any STD. Instead of fixating on STDs, I should have seen an enterologist in the first place. Best wishes to you all.
Based on posts on here, it seems that the risk of contracting an STD in this manner is very small, and the risk of having contracted something but being asymptomatic is also very small. Also, about two months after that, I had strep throat and my doctor gave me a Z-pak regimen of antibiotics, which I understand from other posts would be expected to clear up something like gonorrhea or chlamydia.
Can you please explain the NGU symptoms to me as I was relieved to not have bonn/or chlaymidia, but now fear I may have caught this. I have been so anxiety ridden that the Dr put me on a Z- Pack for my strep throat. For some strange reason I caught NGU would a z pack clear it up. Would the symptoms of NGU come and go . What are the chances that NGU would clear up by itself. Do you think I caught NGU being that I had condom protected sex . It just doesnt makae any sense from what I read here.
Dr puts me on z-pak because my tonsils are so covered in pus and sores even tho the quick strep came back neg. I still have burning/tingling in my labia and the sore is still there and is still painful. The whole area down there is painful and tender and slightly swollen.
I'm obviously okay with getting the disease since I knowingly put myself at risk... I just figured I would have years of relationship with him before I got it!
I know this question has been asked a lot, so I may just be posting for my own sanity. 4 days ago I (33 y.o. On 1/4 my symptoms got worse. My tonsils began to get the white spots/streaks again, and my throat pain greatly increased. I am also feeling much more run down. I messaged my doctor and she told me to finish the Doxy and wait it out. I finished the Doxy today, and am getting worse.
I took my daughter to the er for strepthroat and when the doctor was nearly done with her I told him my throat had been a little sore he looked and said its a little red but I had no other symptoms but was going to treat me as if I had it as well we both rec predisnol and 2 antibiotics and a presc for the z pac. We both left d hosp got mmeds and took the 2.
I have been on 7 different courses of antibotics in 7 months or less and thy were amoxicillin , (September ) , clyidmcin ( October ) . Cedfur ( November ) had a uti in late November or early December antibotics for that too penicillin ( late December) went to dentist he prescribed that! Early January ( clyidmcin ) again went bc tooth was hurting really bad all the way to ear .

The most common causes by far are garden variety cold viruses and streptococcus (strep throat). The only STD that conceivably cause such a problem is gonorreha, and almost all oral gonorrhea causes no symptoms at all. HPV does not cause anything like this. And definitely there is no reason to worry about HIV in this situation, especially if your new partner is not at special risk for it (gay, injection drug user, formerly in prison, etc).
