Strattera to get high

Common Questions and Answers about Strattera to get high

strattera

Avatar f tn Typically, if you are getting side effects, it may be because your dose of Strattera is too high. This is something that you need to discuss with your doc. Any reason you went with Strattera instead of a Methylphenidate type of stim medication? No, I would not try klonopin in the morning. Something like Tenex might be helpful. Tenex, "Can be given 2 or 3 times/day. May need 1-2 weeks to build up. Helps tics, hyperactivity. Does not cut appetite.
Avatar m tn Yesterday, I noticed that you suggested Strattera to another mom for tics. Our doctor told us also to change to Strattera.
Avatar f tn Thank you for that information. It has been a week today that I started wellbutrin so I'm goinf to give it two weeks to be sure. If it doesnt get any better I will attempt a stimulant. Thank you again.
Avatar n tn Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
Avatar n tn Strattera will take two to four weeks to work. If this combo does not work for you, you might want to discuss with your doctor using a light stimulant medicine. http://www.leeheymd.com/charts/adhd_1.
Avatar f tn Most people in clinical studies who experienced side effects were not bothered enough to stop using Strattera. Strattera has not been tested in children under 6 years of age or in geriatric adults.
Avatar n tn HI molly I am on strattera and I have zero side effect. However, I have a friend who has been on strattera and had to stop it because of the itch. Tell your doctor asap.
Avatar f tn ( I am going to get my thyroid checked next month to see if it is off. My FSH and LH are high as well so I probably have hormonal issues. I have been on ssri's for almost 10 years and I believe that although ssris may help some. they were not the right choice for me. When I was on them, I was fat, (went from 130 to 160, I have always ate very healthy, exercised and drink water) and the drugs made me a zombie. The highest dose I was on was 50mg for zoloft and 20mg for prozac.
Avatar m tn I've been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
702147 tn?1289832370 It may well be that she is suffering in school and the pressure is beginning to get to her. It might be time to consider a milder stim med like Ritalin - as long as her heart/lung docs agree. Please do keep us posted. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am another of the multitude of people who have stumbled onto this site after researching "symptoms" and wondering what in the heck is going on. I kinda feel as if my situation is a little bit different due to the fact that I had a brain injury due to a car accident when younger and my symptoms started just 11 days after "falling" (it was a little more graceful than it sounds" off my horse.
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/strattera-side-effects-drug-center.htm So its possible its the Wellbutrin that is the problem. But be careful, this is a med that you want to read the info on stopping it. Don't do it all at once. Actually, do talk to your doc. about this. Hope this helps. Hope things are going ok for you. I remember you from much earlier this summer.
Avatar n tn My daughter is nearly 11 years old and has been taking Concerta (now on 36mg) since March. The doctor recommended a switch to Strattera for the reason that it works 24 hours (Concerta is effective for only 12 hours) and will help my daughter concentrate more. I have no idea whether Strattera is a better alternative, can anyone tell me if this is true?
Avatar m tn Has anyone ever had chest pain from taking Strattera. I think my daughter is playing games with us and just does not want to take her medicine and I would love to find out if anyone has had this issue before so I know whether she is telling the truth or not.
Avatar n tn t meet him (my psychiatrist)for another month. How can I get him to let me be on adderal instead of Strattera when he is afraid I will get addicted? I don't care if it's addicting, I want to live out my life focused and able to work, not dizzy and constipated on the streets where Strattera will lead me I am afraid. Some people are different than others. Why is he limiting me to Stratterra? Is it because of my age?
Avatar f tn A few ideas which I will get back to you on. But 14 is a tough age for young ladies. Is it possible the anxiety is driving the eating problem? ( and yes stim meds can be a factor). More importantly what does she think about the weight loss. Is she open to supplements like protein drinks, etc.?
Avatar f tn Hummm, the problem is that strattera is not a stimulant, which is probably why it was prescribed to your son, and I can not find Raynard's symptoms listed as any side effect of strattera. "Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggeration of vasomotor responses to cold or emotional stress." ADHD can cause a lot of emotional stress. You really need to talk with your doctor. You also need to do some research as allmymarbles suggested.
Avatar m tn Does strattera give any false positive reading for a urine or hair follicle test? Would it come up as a amphetamine or methamphetamine, or any other illegal substance?
Avatar n tn Is it safe to take Adderal XR and Strattera at the same time? I only have a two week supply of Strattera remaining and I'm very much dreading going back to my old self. If it is safe to combine both medications, what should I say to my doctor?
Avatar n tn My son has ODD without ADHD, he has been taking a very small dossage of Topamax for over a year ( has help him loose and control his oerweight problems, but has not really help with his oposition or horrible mood swings) and now the Dr. recomendned Strattera, I´m very concern with the side efects. What should I do?
Avatar n tn The first thing my Doctor said to me was that Strattera was known to cause heightened aggression and mood swings. He also said that due to the fact that I am super-sensitive to any medication it could make it much worse. Is this possible? I didn't even realize that my behavior hadn't gotten that bad.
990354 tn?1307132886 I just had a doc appointment today to increase my pristiq (my antidepressant) and was hoping to get on something else to help with my severe adhd. My friend takes adderall and I have taken that before which I found worked awesome for me at helping me focus and what not. However, I am having a hard time getting the doctors to understand my issues. I have been on nine hundred different anti-depressants and nothing really has helped which is why I often relapse back to the opiates.
Avatar m tn That's why most of us say "ask your Dr. about......." Strattera is a med to help with concentration. I believe that was the question. [Is there any med to improve concentration?] I did not say buy Strattera on the black market and don't tell your doctor about it. I merely answered the question.
Avatar f tn Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. The site is http://www.healing-arts.org/children/ADHD/medications.htm And the following site also lists (with info) non stimulant meds (they do mention strattera). http://www.baltimorepsych.com/NonStimulants.
Avatar f tn According to the web, Strattera carries with it a "black box warning" - the most serious warning a prescription med can carry and still be on the market - that strattera has been linked to suicidal thoughts in children. I agree with Margy - I would call that doing terribly on strattera. I'm not quite sure what behaviors strattera has helped with, but a child with new suicide thoughts are about the worst thing I can think of.
Avatar n tn Is he taking 36mg plus 36 mg or 18mg plus 18mg?
428176 tn?1205555587 Tell him the truth. If he doesn't wake up and get the help he needs to manage the bipolar you're outta there. Maybe it will wake him up and make him want to be well.
Avatar f tn with no research on the effects of abilify on children how am I to know whether this medicine will endanger my MR adhd 9 year old child .he is also on strattera.
