My question is, if anyone can answer, why was I able to take strattera as a child with 0 side effects and then high heart rate etc now. Im thinking it was the benzo withdrawal but I have no experience with that either so Idk. Also, with wellbutrin I dont have the heart rate just feel sleepy and foggy mind. Straterra is an anti-depressant type of medication. They use it for adhd and to stabilize behaviors/moods with children and adults. Though its rate of success isn't as high in children as adults it does work with some. Your son is too young for them to classify him as bi-polar, but ODD with the mood swings sounds more like that is the diagnosis you might be looking at, I am not a doctor, but you may want to ask. My daughter is nearly 11 years old and has been taking Concerta (now on 36mg) since March. The doctor recommended a switch to Strattera for the reason that it works 24 hours (Concerta is effective for only 12 hours) and will help my daughter concentrate more. I have no idea whether Strattera is a better alternative, can anyone tell me if this is true?
I am surprised that he gave you vyvanse. My dr. gave me Wellbutrin and it produced none of the side effects you mention except decreased cravings for caffeine and sweets. Our pharmacist said vyvanse is a lot like adderall; he said everyone seems to be using it who would have previously been on adderall. It is very trendy right now. But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid.

Hi, my husband has adult ADHD and his doctor put him in strattera. It is working for his ADHD but it has loads of side effects (and he cannot take any of the stimulant type meds). We are not sure what to do about the semen leakage. He, understandably, is embarrassed about this and has started to wear diapers to work to protect his clothes. Is this the best option? Anyone has suggestions.
I've been on strattera for two weeks and the only strong side effect I seem to have is that I get really tired or fatigued around 2:00pm.

t feeling the Strattera and could i please get enough adderal until the Strattera kicked in. He originally had boo hooed any narcotic adhd meds. But he gave me enough for a week. When I took the amphetamine I immediately felt relief and I am at an age where I am pretty sure what my body needs and I don't want to play around with newer drugs with side effects I am afraid of.
so i tried the strattera for a week and did not notice any benefits just side effects plus it’s very expensive. i do know strattera needs to build up in your system to take effect but the side effects and price made me feel like there were better options. i called her today and told her this and that i am now off my suboxone. she then decided to write a script for wellbutrin because it’s cheaper?

Between ages 8 and about 28 I took, daily, a prescribed dose of Ritalin (between 20 mg and 40/mg per day) to treat a learning deficit that has always clearly expressed itself. Ritalin was very effective and the noticeable side effects were minimal. However, around age 20 I began to notice erectile sustainability issues which became increasingly prevalent heading into my mid and late twenties.
