strattera

990354 tn?1307132886 I have been on both strattera and adderall. Adderall is very addicting to this (me) addict. The strattera didnt give the buzz adderall did. ALSO many people have reported adderall increased depression. I hope this helps. Congrats on getting off the opiates. YOUR AWESOME !!
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
Avatar f tn Strattera, Adderall XR, Vyvanse, and Daytrana are medications I have taken, my brother takes Concerta. Vyvanse and Adderall XR are the only meds I can take. I have a real sensitive stomach and immune system, and am allergic to a lot so I would think that you can handle most of these.
Avatar n tn I am an over 35 Adult female with ADHD. I have been taking Strattera for several years. It wasn't until my aggressive behavior and anger was announced to me by my husband as being a problem that I sought help with counceling and with my primary care Doctor. The first thing my Doctor said to me was that Strattera was known to cause heightened aggression and mood swings. He also said that due to the fact that I am super-sensitive to any medication it could make it much worse. Is this possible?
Avatar m tn Been on lexapro and adderall for about two years it has been much better then my last combo of wellbutren and litium. i have been off the adderall for a few months because i am a recovering addict and started well, always abused the adderall. I am suffering so bad with concentration and focus its affecting my work BAD... Is it safe to take lexapro and strattera? and is it safe to take lexapro and ginko biloba untill i get insurance to get strattera ...God i feel like a mess.
Avatar m tn only took it 5 days now I am discontinue it. My doc mentioned trying concerta or strattera. Anybody have experience like this or with these meds?
673186 tn?1225983925 A few months ago I was diagnosed with ADHD and instead of Adderall I tried Strattera knowing my addictive personality and past with drug abuse. I was heavily addicted to heroin and/or oxycontin, and other potent opiates along with a nasty addiction to combing them with benzos like xanax, klonopins, or valium etc.., and other sedative and muscle ralaxers. Anything I could snort it went up my nose..On Nov.
889551 tn?1416184483 No strattera does not work as well. Depression is very common with ADHD. Very possible your depression Meds could be lowered if you find the right stim med. very good link here explaining the inter relationship. https://m.youtube.com/watch?
428176 tn?1205555587 Does your husband go to counseling or a psychiatrist. Sounds like he needs some meds to calm him down. Unforunately my husband and I had the same problems for about 6 months and finally recently calmed down with An antidepressent called Celexa. I am much better. Having some problems with mild mood swings that my husband has been able to calm me down before it gets out of control. Don't give up on him, keep working with him and see what happens.
Avatar f tn As he was grew up we tried different meds for short periods, but the adderall made his tics worse, the strattera did not do anything ( we recently just tried strattera agan for the recommended time and dosage), in the past 1.5 years he has been involved with pot (it helps his tics) and then moved on to meth. He said he was very focused on the meth and it did not bother his tics. I am completely puzzeled how adderall could have bothered his tics and on meth did not?????
Avatar n tn 15 yr old daughter was diag with adhd 2nd grade - although was family "joke" adhd long before. 1st on adderall with explosive behavior - had to try before could take straterra, insurance. Strattera was fine for sev yrs - although only limited imp - just enough to tolerate her. Problems with social interaction and her mouth - she's constantly argumentative and I believe ODD. After menstruation began, strattera appeared worthless.
Avatar n tn I've been on strattera for two weeks and the only strong side effect I seem to have is that I get really tired or fatigued around 2:00pm. Will this side effect subside over time? Is there anyway to lessen it? I've tried other ADD medications however because they are stimulants I tend to get really agitated or even a little paranoid when I'm on them so I am hoping that Strattera works out ok. Are there any other non-stimulant ADD medications?
Avatar f tn Do you think that I will probably not see any improvement? Or do you think that its possible that Adderall became ineffective for me, but that Vyvanse will be effective?
Avatar f tn My 8 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 6 years old. After trying a few medications, his doctor chose Concerta as his daily medicine. It seemed to help a little with his so called "hyper" behavior. However, the doctor has increased the dosage a few times and my son is now taking 54mg.
Avatar m tn * Nonstimulant medication, such as the antidepressant bupropion (Wellbutrin and generic) or atomoxetine (Strattera), which is not available as a generic.
Avatar f tn I currently take Levothyroxine 88mcg(μg) in the morning and 2 doses of Adderall (instant release, not XR) 20mg - one in the morning before classes and the second one whenever I need it depending on my classes that day or things I need to work on. I also later added Celexa 20mg which helped a lot with the anxiety and mood swings - especially from the "crash" of the Adderall. But with ADD meds, no one can tell you what will work best for you, or what dosage, before you try it.
Avatar f tn like you said if the doctor really knows i have add then they would understand that i wouldn’t abuse stimulants because they don’t give me any sort of rush or high. and when i am taking adderall my brain is so clear and focused i completely forget about my cravings as when i’m not i can really feel the urge of relapse and that scares me more than anything. i guess we will see what happens with the neurologist this week.
Avatar f tn i dont want to stop the meds if they are going to help him. he tired adderall and strattera with the same side affect. can anyone recommend something that will work without him getting sleepy.
Avatar m tn My son has ADD, not hyperactive, and was prescribed Adderall after Strattera quit working. The label says it can cause dependency after just as few weeks. How can this be a good drug if he needs to be on it long term? The dose is only 10mg and he is 16 but his dad has an addictive personality (recovering alcoholic) and it scares me. I have only gathered up my courage to give him 1 dose. I know about drug holidays and that is fine but if he doesn't abuse it, can he still get addicted? Thanks.
Avatar n tn A friend of mine that I've known for 15 years now has been acting a little strange lately. On Tuesday 5/20 she called me late & told me she was on her way to my house b/c she was leaving her husband of 8 years. She said she needed a place to stay til Friday. She did not tell her sister parents what she was doing. Her husband told them on Thurs. 5/22. The next day, Friday, her family tried to sit her down & talk to her about what she was doing. She punched her sister in the face.
Avatar f tn So my doctor put me on adderall xr starting at 10 mg. She increased it only by 10mg or less at a time. So I went up to 20 mg and now have been on 25 mg since august 2011. The 25 mg is doing good by the benefits and less symptoms I've had but only last 8 hrs. I had side effects with adderall in the beginning but they were not as intense and long term as vyvanse. Right now I don't have any side effects except if I get less than 7 hrs of sleep then I do get tired even on the adderall xr.
Avatar m tn Hi all my doc just prescribed straterra and i will be stopping adderal. Adderal made me super paranoid and angry. Anyone know anything about strattera? Any experience? I'm afraid my add is going to skyrocket since Addy is obviously stronger. I took adderal for about two and a half months.
Avatar f tn My son who is 9 years old was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 6, we have tried adderall, aderral xr, medate, medadate xr and now have gone throught all MG of daytrana patch. He is also taking .2 clonidine at night to help sleep. He also has ODD, my question is what medication can we try him on now that will MAYBE help with both? We have tried the Tenex smallest dose possiblr 1/4 pill in am. And he just could not function.
Avatar m tn m just wondering how long you had or have been on Adderall. A lot of your symptoms are consistent with taking Adderall, especially on 80mg. I took Adderall and after two weeks I was paranoid, thought people were talking about me, police following me, depressed and anxious to the max!! After I stopped it the symptoms slowing got better. Come to find out all those thoughts were crazy and not true. I thank God I stopped that med.
649926 tn?1297657780 Hi Everyone - Hope you are all well :) I just started Ritalin last week to give me more energy and help me with my decling cognition. I was on Amantadine for the energy and it didn't even make a difference. Instead of trying Provigal the docs thought that Ritalin would give me energy AND help with focus/cognition. Well I feel so sick, dizzy, stomach upset, shaky, it's awful, BUT if I stay on task and don't stop I really can be productive and accomplish lots of things.
Avatar f tn d goes into adulthood, belive me it does! I have it extreamly badly, and after a disastor with Rittaline im now on Strattera (atomoxetine, which is not yet licenced in u.k.) is there any other adults out there that have been, like me, misdiagnosed for years because . .. when I was a child a.d.h.d hadent been recognised. Then when I was older it was only recognised in kids, and not in adults?
Avatar m tn Just because you cannot focus on a book or movie, or your schoolwork, does not in any way mean that you have ADHD, it just means that maybe those things do not get your attention like maybe doing something hands on. My son and alot of boys are hands on learners. My son at 14 could fix just about anything electronic, he has been working on cars since he was 12 and is amazingly talented. If these meds are not working for you, why are they still having you take them.
