Avatar n tn Is it safe to take Adderal XR and Strattera at the same time? I only have a two week supply of Strattera remaining and I'm very much dreading going back to my old self. If it is safe to combine both medications, what should I say to my doctor?
Avatar m tn Yesterday, I noticed that you suggested Strattera to another mom for tics. Our doctor told us also to change to Strattera.

Avatar f tn My doctor has me on welubturon 150mg, strattera 25mg and klonopin 1mg. The klonopin for sleep. I love the way the other two make me feel throughout the day. Focused, happy. However, I work for a gym and my physical abilities are very important as they are my job. Ever since I've started the strattera, I'm only able to give about 60% and I still feel flu'ish. Weak, sick, cold sweats. That's not me. They want me to try this for three weeks.
Avatar n tn hey my diagnoses is bipolar depression i take 150 zoloft,50naltrexone,60mg inderol,trileptal 900,stelazine 6mg,cogentin 0.
Avatar n tn Im a 34 year old female just diagnosed with ADD. my dr out me on strattera because of an existing heart problem. I started it 5 days ago. the 1st day i took it at 8am. by 12 i couldnt keep my head off my desk. and i killed my scalp with my letter opener. i felt like i had bugs all in my head. the next day i took it at 1pm. same thing. im taking it later at night so i can hopefully sleep through all of the "bugs". has anyone else had itching as a side effect?
Avatar m tn I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place. Today I had an appt to get my prescriptions and my "temp" said that he couldn't justify writing me a scrip for both my adderall and the strattera.
Avatar n tn ve been taking strattrea 25mg for 1 week 40 for 1 week 60 for 2 weeks now my dosage has been increased to 80 i really want this to work...i feel tired all the time how much longer should it take for the effects to kick in?
Avatar n tn Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
Avatar f tn Nobody really knows long-term effects there are (if any) with antidepressants. However, Prozac is the oldest SSRI out there, and people have been on it 20+ years, with no serious long-term effects reported yet. In generally, the SSRI antidepressants appear to be very safe. Though their long-term effects have not been adequately studied. Being on Prozac for 2-3 years should have no lasting detrimental effects. I was on Prozac for 3 years, and I'm now on Lexapro for 2 years.
Avatar m tn Strattera should work better, but it may take up to 4 weeks to feel full effect. Sounds like your doc is taking it slowly - which is a good idea! I personally don't know of anybody on both, but I can understand why they both might be prescribed. Would think that the main problem might be a sleepy feeling. Do let your doc know how things are going.
Avatar n tn t meet him (my psychiatrist)for another month. How can I get him to let me be on adderal instead of Strattera when he is afraid I will get addicted? I don't care if it's addicting, I want to live out my life focused and able to work, not dizzy and constipated on the streets where Strattera will lead me I am afraid. Some people are different than others. Why is he limiting me to Stratterra? Is it because of my age?
Avatar f tn I am getting tired already tho and having back/ hip pain so hoping I can last that long at work. Work as long as I your body will let you.
Avatar n tn I've been on strattera for two weeks and the only strong side effect I seem to have is that I get really tired or fatigued around 2:00pm. Will this side effect subside over time? Is there anyway to lessen it? I've tried other ADD medications however because they are stimulants I tend to get really agitated or even a little paranoid when I'm on them so I am hoping that Strattera works out ok. Are there any other non-stimulant ADD medications?
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/strattera-side-effects-drug-center.htm So its possible its the Wellbutrin that is the problem. But be careful, this is a med that you want to read the info on stopping it. Don't do it all at once. Actually, do talk to your doc. about this. Hope this helps. Hope things are going ok for you. I remember you from much earlier this summer.
Avatar f tn Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. The site is http://www.healing-arts.org/children/ADHD/medications.htm And the following site also lists (with info) non stimulant meds (they do mention strattera). http://www.baltimorepsych.com/NonStimulants.
209987 tn?1451935465 t know, they may allow the strattera as a lot of the problems with Champix seems to be due to the sudden nicotine withdrawal (makes sense), and they both have different ways of working on the system. Do read up on Strattera as it does take much longer to take effect, so don't expect any sudden changes that you would get with stimulants. I completely understand the gardening thing. When both my wife and I were teaching, it was one of our main forms of relaxation, besides jogging.
Avatar n tn Then I started reading all the consumer reports that said to get off of it. It took me about 2 months to slowly do so. But, by then I had learned how to deal with my anxiety and have been great ever since. Well, I do take the occasional antacid as needed. Point being - you need to have a serious talk with your doctor. The acid reducer is not solving the problem for your stomach problems. It just deals with the after effect.
Avatar m tn He needs to know what is going on. Also, he should be experienced with his patients using strattera, so should be able to tell you, what to expect. Good luck!
Avatar m tn and her old behaviors and inattention resurfaced. We went form 20mg to 40mg to 60mg in about a month, but it did not seem to work anymore. I was under the impression that Strattera results were immediate, but in doing some research tonight I have seem reports of Strattera taking weeks to become fully effective. Could we have jumped the gun taking her off it? Now the Dr has her on ritalin. She started with 5mg daily and in 3 weeks is up to 20mg daily.
Avatar f tn There are set ways to do this for each med. You might want to check with your doc to make sure you are doing this right. Once the tapering off is done, then you will have a much better idea of where the side effects are coming from. And what you are doing seems like a good way to go. Did you ever try any of the stim meds? They do give you more flexibility and are more more effective then straterra.
Avatar f tn I can't keep my mind still long enough to concentrate, everything I do I just feel discontent with. Anyone else feel this? What do you do?
Avatar m tn Well, you know why I think the Adderal made you paranoid, etc. Hopefully, the Straterra will work for you. It will take 2 to 4 weeks to reach maximum effectiveness, so don't expect the same feelings you got with the Adderall. Everybody is different and its all kind of a trial and error to find what works the best for you. Keep in touch and let us know how things are working out. I still think you should send your doc that article just to see what he thinks. The author, Dr.
1063332 tn?1254751034 Hello, new to this. I was diagnosed as bipolar in 2004 after a diagnosis of severe depression, anxiety and PTSD. I am not sure if all of that is summed up with the bipolar diagnosis, or I have all of them. Anyway, I have been hospitalized 3 times and over the last 5 years have been in almost every psych med know. The guinea pig trials have been often debilitating. After a long road of ups and downs I think I am doing pretty well... but it's a HUGE cocktail.
