Common Questions and Answers about Straighten teeth through surgery

teeth

Avatar f tn After my teeth had time to re-attach and heal, I had top braces put on to straighten the teeth. As far as I am aware, I have always had sensitivity in these two teeth ever since. Usually it’s a dull ache, not super strong. Sometimes I feel nothing at all. Sometimes it’s more than a dull ache. Sometimes the discomfort occurs when the weather changes (like a bad knee or something like that).
Avatar f tn Trying to straighten them causes extreme pain in the front of my knees. When I was 5, I had a hamstring lengthening surgery which allowed me too straighten my legs and walks for two years. However those two years were very painful. My knees would often lock up and eventually the locking up turned into immobility. Thus I eventually went into a wheelchair. Now, I am in a wheelchair full time. However, I ask this question now as just recently (2.
Avatar n tn t right below the teeth that are already out and causing any damage to the teeth but its hard to see a 3D jaw in a 2D x-ray. It looks like the teeth are straighten out relatively well. I would ask the doctor to clarify your concern but I would imagine that getting the impacted teeth out would be a good next step. You might want to consult with an oral surgeon who will most likely be doing the extractions.
Avatar n tn To start off: I DO NOT HAVE ANY WISDOM TEETH. I had them removed when I was 17. I had oral surgery where they cut the wisdom teeth out before they ever broke the surface. So, please don't tell me this is my wisdom teeth coming in because it is not. That being said, I need help. My gum on the back left side of my mouth is growing over my tooth, and it hurts a lot. I brush back there twice daily and floss under the sore gum, but it still hurts.
Avatar n tn I too have COPD/emphysema. I am needing my teeth extracted, so I can get false teeth. Maybe someone can answer our question.
Avatar n tn Chronic teeth grinding can result in a fracturing, loosening, or loss of teeth. The chronic grinding may wear their teeth down to stumps. You can wear a mouth guard that's available in most sports stores but if it continues, you should see your doctor. Good luck!
328043 tn?1200362008 Well, I'm 6 days down from the second thyroid surgery. Had rest of my thyroid and 6 lymphs nodes removed. No info yet on patholgy but recovery has been hell. After surgery, had severe migranes with vomitting. Then my calcium levels dropped which pointed out to the physician that my parathyroid glands were damaged. And to top it off, I have lost half of my voice, the doctors are saying it may come back, Let's hope....Radiation set for 5 weeks from now....
Avatar f tn Braces are useful to straighten crooked, crowded or protruding teeth, close gaps between teeth and correct the bite of the teeth. It is a prolonged treatment. It may take 18 months to 2 years. A visit to the orthodontist may be required every four to six weekly. You should take extra care with the braces since there is a tendency for food to get trapped and plaque formation. Do discuss all your concerns with your dentist before placement of braces. Best wishes and regards!

Avatar f tn I have been having intermittent pain in my teeth. specifically, two of my upper teeth for a little over a year. They are pushing out a little and I could use some braces to straighten them. I also grind my teeth when I sleep and have for years. sometimes, the pain in my teeth makes me feel like my jaw is out of alignment. and sometimes I have pain that radiates up my jaw into my ears and in my cheekbones some days, they drive me crazy, but other days they won't bother me at all.
Avatar f tn Hello Im a HHA and i work with a guy who is HIV positive. 3 weeks ago he got 5 teeth pulled. After the surgery in his mouth he was given juice. His mouth was full with blood. As he drunk his juice he had difficulties so i helped him. While helping him juice mix with his blood fell from his mouth unto my fingers. I didnt think anything of it until 5 days later when i began feeling sick. After thinking about it I remembered pulling the white stuff in between my nails. It wasnt bleeding.
Avatar f tn I had periodontal surgery in February. I do think treatment exacerbated some existing periodontal problems and I did not have the mouth dryness or mouth sores during treatment. I can't say treatment caused the gum disease but it certainly made it much worse. Must admit though, I didn't floss like I should have either.

Avatar f tn I have had a squint from a young age, I didn't have the surgery when I was younger, I don't think I fully understood what was happening being so young. When I was around 13 I chose to have corrective surgery but I would still need to wear glasses. They didn't fully straighten my eye, they only moved it slightly but they did it so my glasses or contact lenses straightens my eye fully.
Avatar f tn ve been together he doesnt let me post pictures of us, and what about the wedding pics we will have to take? Is there a such thing as surgery for his cockeye? He wears glasses because he has Myopia (thin lens) and his eye is slightly cocked, can he get that fixed, is it risky or might have any complications and effect his vision?
Avatar n tn re not going to know what it is until you go get it looked at. As far as surgery goes, just because a doctor says that it needs surgery to correct it does not mean that you have to go through with it right away (or even at all if you think you can live with it), unless it's life threatening. It would be your call as to whether you chose to go with that doctor or found another doctor to get a second opinion or even a third opinion.
Avatar m tn I am 50 years old now and have had the same condition all of my life. It makes it extremely hard to get blood from me or have an IV put in without blowing my veins. When I was little nobody bothered with it. I could walk and talk properly. I hit all of my milestones. I almost got arrested one night because a cop asked me to put my arms straight down at my sides. I ended up with him in my face screaming at me to do what he said or get arrest for obstruction. I was just a witness.
Avatar f tn I can not straighten my arm all the way, if I have it bent (like when its in the sling) it will start to tingle like its falling asleep and Im seeming to drop stuff if I have it in my left hand. Im just not sure the doctor was right.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has any info on this type of surgery? and know any cases of people not being able to straighten their legs before surgery? Also, does anyone know if there is a risk going back to work, my medical certificate still has another three weeks on it, I work at a desk. I would appreciate any feedback, thanks for your time!
Avatar m tn The doctor gave me the option of letting it heal on its own crooked or surgery to set it straight with pins. How did your finger heal? Did it straighten at all? Thanks!
