Avatar n tn When I was in college, I was within about 10 feet of lightning twice. Once my friend was driving a car and lightning struck in front of the car (she drove off the road freaked out). I guess by the time she would have gotten there, presumably the lightning would have been gone. Maybe not. She was going 45 mph. Lightning does indeed travel from the ground up sometimes (it can travel either way). I saw it go from the ground up twice.
Avatar f tn I'm from mid Michigan. We had a hail storm earlier. Now it's just crazy or there. Thunder, lightning abd rain!

OMG i forgot when a powerful bow echo storm comes, the wall of wind comes out ahead of the storm. so even though it wasnt raining or lightning/thundering right overhead yet, the heaviest winds hit and OMG there were branches falling all around us and it was SO LOUD, then dust started blowing across from a field a few properties down from ours. I honest to god thought we were in a real tornado!
Avatar f tn There might be alternatives to drugs for this. You could try...? If it doesn't work, well you tried. When there is a storm, I act as if it is fun. My dog responds to my mood. I get Misty's toys out, and we play. I do not hold her/comfort her/hide her under the duvet/ etc, or make like it's anything to be scared about. When the lightning comes I say "Ooh! What's THAT?" When the thunder comes I go "Wow!!" She almost LIKES thunderstorms now.

Avatar f tn well, one day, our lucky lady was outside showing her chair moves to the neighborhood kids (i made that up) when she looks up to the sky and guess what???? SHAZAM! struck by lightning again! And, behold, she gets up from the floor and A MIRACLE!! she's cured! no more MS! So boys and girls, it's hurricane season in Fla. I suggest we all get together there, stand outside during a storm (holding a golf club might be a great idea) and see who gets hit & cured.
881165 tn?1265984588 How many of you have trouble with BP, syncope, etc. when there's a big storm? I have a terrible time, and I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on it. I can't decide whether it's the huge atmospheric pressure change or the large quantities of lightning, but something just puts me completely off balance. I know lots of us have trouble with heat, but I've never heard anyone, including doctors, talk about major storms. So whaddya think?
Avatar n tn I have read everything I can find and still don't feel knowledgeable enough to make a decision. I'll see a physician before I do, but in the meanwhile, any advice would be appreciated. I'm neg, he's pos, his viral load is undetectable and T-cell count is off the charts good. I have excellent dental hygiene and he has no sores.
Avatar f tn t a cloud in the sky I am shaking and when I am not staring out the window to look for tornados I am checking the weather forecast to see if there is any rain, a few weeks ago I was at the pool when a storm hit we went inside and there was lighting, thunder, rain, hail and very dark clouds, I fainted when that happened and I woke up with a terrible headache. I have been scared of lightning for years but ever since then I have been trembling in fear when it starts to sprinkle.

Avatar f tn This is nearly the perfect introduction.... I love simple science projects, currently building a solar heater simply for the simplicity of the project and have built and maintained many other simple projects (if only there was a job that involved simple science projects then I'd be in heaven!). What you could do with this "ability" is to combine it with a lightning detector and a few other rain gauges and meters and such...

Avatar f tn Raiden is the God of lightning from the Mortal Kombat franchise. And Levi is a brand of jeans. Not bashing as its your choice what you call your child. But I would think about what happens when he goes to school or applies for a job. Who's going to take Supreme Judge Raiden seriously?
