229857 tn?1319029907 you can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days just make sure you date the milk also it can go in the freezer i think for upto 6 months and it is good to use the breast milk storage bags so you can date them also and then you can take them straight from the freezer and put the bag in the baby bottle warmer. when you buy the breast pump there should be a little book about breast feeding and everything that comes with it.

Avatar f tn I'm doing research about storage for breast milk. I want something that's cost effective and will work. I'm not looking to create a huge stash of frozen milk because I don't have the space in my freezer nor do I have a deep freeze (yay apartment living). I have looked into the disposable bags. What a money sink. Plus the reviews I read do not put much faith into me using them. I came across a mom's blog about using mason jars.
Avatar f tn If you try pumping I doubt anything will come out, especially if you've never breastfed. You may get a few drops. . But the isn't quite worth storing so you might as well wait for baby to come. But if you do try and are successful, you'd need to store it in a milk storage bag and put it in the freezer. And congrats, hope you have an easy labor.

Avatar f tn s common to have an over supply but your body will regulate over time). You can get milk storage bags at major retailers and freeze the milk for later on, after you've introduced a bottle (most IBCLCs say the best time for this is between 4-6 weeks to avoid disrupting the routine you're both trying to learn). Mostly, just know that this sore and uncomfortable feeling is totally normal and almost always self-limiting.
1996005 tn?1343871411 Just make sure you get the inserts and such. I breast fed her as well but just used a medela hand pump for storing the milk. You will want breastmilk storage bags as well. It's not bad to ask for any of that on a registry but the chances of getting it are slim.

Avatar f tn It's not milk supply. Your body doesn't store milk. It makes it on demand when baby is born. It is the glands waking up to prepare themselves to produce (not actually producing yet). If fabric on your nipples is an issue I recommend wearing Medela breast shells in your bra and also, the lansinoh soothies gel pads. They are amazing!

Avatar f tn I'm going to get the gerber bottles from walmart. My sister has them & they work fine so i thought I'd try them, but if I'm pumping what bottles would I store the milk in? Or should I just get storage bags?? & if i get storage bags do i just pour the milk in the bottle when im ready to feed? Ugh. So confused lol help!
Avatar f tn I'm trying to choose the best breast pump and milk storage system I can find. I travel extensively for work and I'll even be pumping in the car. I found the Kiinde system; which looks awesome. But, I'm not sure what I will be able to express from each breast at each pumping session. Ideally, I would like to pump directly into the storage bag, freeze it, thaw it, and feed directly from the bag. That is how the Kiinde system is intended to be used.
621803 tn?1302888341 I wouldn't put it in a water bottle if it were me. I would buy some cheap breast milk freezer bags to have them on hand for the next time. These either tie with a twist tie or they zip closed. You can get a huge amount for a few bucks at Target. Sounds like you are doing great with the breastfeeding!!!!!!
Avatar f tn So I go back to work this week. I've been storing milk and seeing if my little man will take that. I'm having issues with him even taking the bottle. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Avatar n tn Glass bottles are great &; they do have some of them wrapped in like a 'decorative' rubber for when babyy is holding them his/her self to prevent dropping &; breaking but Medela, Tomme Tippie, Dr. Browns &; I can't think of the other one but they're also great for breast feeding &; storing milk. I'm also breast feeding nd going with Tomme Tippie because I loove how realistic the nipples are!
Avatar f tn Fresh milk can be in the fridge 4-6 days and frozen thawed milk can be in the fridge 24 hours. These are the milk storage guidelines from the LLL.
