smoking

Avatar f tn Congratulations on your decision to quit! You should read all of the articles at whyquit.com to mentally prepare you for it, but please be prepared to put on a little weight.......it will happen, sorry. Eventually it levels off but remember that smoking quickens your metabolism so when you quit, your metabolism slows down. Once it adjusts, then your weight will level off.

Avatar n tn Nature has to take its course, and as it does, the best that you can do is to follow all health practices of proper amount of exercise, eating healthy foods, having a proper amount of sleep, not smoking, not doing drugs, and so on. If you haven't had a checkup for a while, you could schedule a visit with your doctor and at that time describe your concerns to get his input.

She has been experiencing trouble breathing (wheezing), feeling weak throughout her body, frequent urination to the bathroom and cramps in her legs and feet. When my mother in law attemoed to stop smoking I always saw her with an unlit cigarette in her mouth that she would puff on. It seemed to work for her. Avatar m tn t been commenting recently but once again my new role at J P and my other duties are taking a toll on my timetable. I have been doing and feeling very well... I have managed to read most of the threads from my last read, some very interesting articles and nice to see some new and 'younger members' on this forum as well. Welcome Sylvanat (think i have spelt that right)... There has been a regular question buzzing in my head which is the title above.
Avatar f tn I had surgery for ectopic pregnancy seven weeks ago, had my right tube removed, I've made a good recovery, I havn't smoked since the surgery and I know I shouldn't start again really but I'm curious would it be safe to smoke again now?
Avatar m tn riz.....how are you my friend here's my humble opinion...i am an addict plain and simple. i am an addict that chooses not to get high today. i promise nothing more than that. i do smoke cigarettes..i think anything that effects our minds ie drive drinking weed coke heroin benzos etc any mind altering substances is a no no for me. our body is a temple. and we must keep our temple clean ( i know your a Buddhist and respect that). but temple is temple...and i want to stop smoking ciggs....
Avatar f tn A lot of discharge is even more normal lol. The cramps are also normal.
Avatar m tn Two years ago, my type I diabetes went way out of control, and I had wild swings and a difficulty in controlling it. Naturally, this frightened my wife. In the last six months, I've really refined my technique and am very reliable. But my wife is still jittery, and won't drive with me, even though I'm probably more reliable than most drivers on the road - monitor myself very carefully.
Avatar f tn I started getting ready to stop smoking about 5yrs ago. I decided not to smoke in my car anymore. I suffer from anxiety, so I'm never away from the house for more than 2hrs max and I figured I could at LEAST go without a cigarette that long. At the time, I felt like this alone was an enormous accomplishment and it helped me to start thinking like a non-smoker, I had been a smoker for 33yrs before I quit last July.
Avatar f tn It's not right for you guys to judge everyone handles stress in different ways so what if she had one cigarette at least she stopped...some people don't stop or even cut back when pregnant. I get anxiety attacks because of stres to the point I can't breath or do anything but I've learned to handle it.
Avatar f tn It is recommended for at least two weeks before and after your procedure that you stop smoking because you could be vulnerable to numerous complications, such as infection, poor and/or delayed wound healing, longer bruising period etc... Wishing you success and prompt recovery on your surgery and reconstruction. Good luck...
Avatar f tn s dealing with. Have you asked your surgeon what the timetable for full recovery is given the surgeon is the only one who saw inside of her and therefore the full extent of the damage and of the procedures that had to be performed?
14511252 tn?1434923746 Has anyone smoked weed before surgery or did everyone stop if you did? Dont judge it really helps with the pain.
2206935 tn?1373638605 You may not get a doctor to agree but some of us believe that a strong immune system helps and allows for quicker recovery (6-24 months). Besides eating healthy, stop smoking cigs, reduce alcohol consumption esp beer and ales, take vitamins (C, B, Folic Acid, Zinc, A, supplements, etc), get more sleep, reduce stress and exercise often, Avoid recreational drugs and un-safe sex during this recovery period too.

595141 tn?1239971814 Hi I quit smoking 6 weeks ago. I had smoked for 9 years (yes i was a young starter) When I tried to quit before I found it really difficult coz it felt like I was missing out on something (if that makes sense?) then a friend told me about this book called Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking: Be a Happy Non-smoker for the Rest of Your Life. I read it and that really helped me. Its hard to explian but if you read it with an open mind it will work.
Avatar f tn I know how hard it is to stop smoking. I smoked since i was 11 and quit for my kids when i was 24 and i swore i would never touch one again..hated the smell..couldnt stand been around anyone who smoked..hated seeing ppl in the street smoking. Then one night whilst on holiday with family i got very drunk and had a cigarette and from that moment i slipped back into it so easily..i smoked every day for another cpl of month and then i found out i was pregnant with baby no4.
