Avatar f tn I'M NOT SURE ABOUT ALL OF YOU, BUT MY SPECIALIST TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO STOP SMOKING OR HE COULDENT or WOULDENT TREAT ME. I'VE BEEN SMOKING 35 YRS YES I PROBABLY CAN AND WILL STOP BUT IT JUST SEEMS SO SMALL COMPARED TO EVERTHING ELSE, DID ANYONE ELSE SMOKE DURING TREATMENT?
Avatar f tn I wouldnt be as concerned being on a low mg patch for a week or two to have a better chance of succseeding as i would be smoking , its the way alot of midwives ect recommend initially to stop smoking . Agree long term is'nt recommended . to have a monitered and organised plan with midwife , nurse is important and more succsessful. Women shouldnt be put off from short term from patch or gum ect if it stops them smoking. Its far better for baby and mother than smoking .
Avatar f tn Probably from smoking then. Try to not smoke for a little while and see if they go away. When you stop smoking blood flow gets better, your skin receives more oxygen and nutrients. This can help you develop a healthier complexion all over. If you can't, then see what your doctor thinks of this. It could be something else.
Avatar f tn t have all the chemicals. When it ran out I was finished smoking. Ask your ob first before you do it though just in case.
4852917 tn?1386378680 I wouldn't think so because they are nicotine patches. With me it was easy because the cigs started to smell gross then I went a few days without and took a hit and it tasted like straight chemicals not the same taste at all. And now my husband smells like an ash tray when he comes back in the house and I never noticed before.

595141 tn?1239971814 Hi I quit smoking 6 weeks ago. I had smoked for 9 years (yes i was a young starter) When I tried to quit before I found it really difficult coz it felt like I was missing out on something (if that makes sense?) then a friend told me about this book called Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking: Be a Happy Non-smoker for the Rest of Your Life. I read it and that really helped me. Its hard to explian but if you read it with an open mind it will work.
19880027 tn?1485894768 For the about 15 years I've been chewing tobacco and smoking it for almost 26 years. I'm 35 and it's been a very long run that I thoroughly enjoyed. Now when it's time to hang it up there's no support for those of us that chew tobacco. There's stop smoking just about everywhere you look and I gave up smoking November of 2016. Today is day 8 tobacco free and all I can think about is eating but I'm on a monitored diet.
Avatar f tn Im honest with my doctor about it and her only concern is that I stop smoking anywhere that I would have the baby (like the car) and she told me when the babies born if I smoke I have to change my clothes before holding the baby. All you can do is to keep trying and keep cutting back. I've found that if I time my cigarettes I smoke less, I can only have one every so many hours. Just remember your baby will go through withdrawal as well when they are born and use that as your motivation.

Avatar m tn Some of you might remember me, it has been about 15 days since I last took a pill, I still am feeling great on that front, however I decided last sunday I wanted to stop smoking(I also would use chew when I was in a situation where I could not smoke). after 4 days of tapering off the amount of cigs (from my normal pack a day to about 8) I put on a 14mg nicotine patch. I stayed on patches for just 2 days then decided that I was just gonna take it off and see how long I could go...
Avatar m tn To answer your question yes you will withdrawal from patches. If u stop them cold turkey. The idea with them is keep tapering unfortunately I was on them but I went back to cigarettes.
Avatar f tn Hi, I really don't know the answer to your question. What I Do know is nicotine leaves the blood stream 72hrs after the last puff. Since it's now been 5 days, you are likely safe with your test, but I'm thinking your doc wanted you off the smokes for a month due to all the other chemicals in cigarettes which may slow down the healing process. It is my theory that thousands of chemicals don't just leave your body after 3days when one has smoked for years and years...

397539 tn?1233258097 Autum, please get the nicotine patches. It is a 10 week program. 6 weeks on 21 mg/day patches, 2 weeks on 14mg/day patches, and 2 weeks on 7mg/day patches. You won't have these terrible withdrawal symptoms, and you can re-learn how to live your life without smoking. I quit in 1992 after 23 years of smoking a pack a day. I had tried everything from cold-turkey to hypnosis, but only the patch helped me.
Avatar f tn If you are on patches it means you are still smoking and will show up in the blood regardless of the tool used to put it there. Patches are a nicotine delivery system every bit as much as smoking or chewing. Personally I would quit immediately and if you have never been treated for smoke related illness I would say no. Once they find out you do, have or might, you will pay more. Example I do not smoke now, have not for 9 months, but do you think a insurance company will have mercy on me? Not!
