Stop acne outbreaks with proactiv

Common Questions and Answers about Stop acne outbreaks with proactiv

acne

Avatar f tn is it ok to use proactiv+ cleansing body bar with salicylic acid acne treatment?
Avatar n tn I do agree that your skin does get used to proactiv as with anything else you use, but my son had the worst acne possible and the best thing to do is to change your diet. This is crucial. Use a good probiotic is essential too. My son also uses colliadial silver soap. But I did like your ideas of the clansonic. I am not fond of many of the prescription medications because of the side effects. My son uses limited proactiv, mostly he has changed his diet.
Avatar f tn I heard not to use proactiv cause it will make it worse and neutrogena is what I was using too. Someone else just mentioned something about baby belle or belle baby.
Avatar n tn However it has been observed that many acne sufferers are deficient in zinc so a supplement may be indicated. Be patient with the topical treatment it will take at least 8 weeks to see results. If you are female ask your doctor about an anti-androgen contraceptive pill like Diane35 which provides birth control and clears acne. Oral antibiotics can also be useful in treating acne but taking zinc concurrently may be contraindicted with tetracyclines.
Avatar n tn Ugh yes! It *****. I am too old for acne! I would check with your doc before staring proactiv though. Some would say not safe to start a new medication while pregnant. I used to use proactiv years ago for some minor acne and while i liked it when i quit using it my skin got horrible. It got used to the chemicals and went through some proactiv withdrawl it seemed. This too shall pass!
341551 tn?1266980730 I hardly ever break out, even when preggers, but DH has bad acne. I have him scrub his face with nutrogena morning burst and a loofa every morning and then he applies the nutrogena morning burst 8 hour facial lotion, and he hasn't had a break out since. I good home remedy for acne is white vinegar.

Avatar f tn I have had acne my whole life, I control it with proactiv but since I've been pregnant nothing helps and it's worse.
Avatar n tn My son has UC and moved onto the Imuran last year. He did have some acne with the prednisone too. He has been in a wonderful remission this past year and is so enjoying feeling healthy. The only change he continues to make is to leave dairy alone as he realizes he is lacto intolerant. I hope you will get the same success. How I wish this was available to me back when I was ill. Hang in there. I would strongly recommend the Proactive acne products you can buy on TV or the net.
Avatar f tn I can not deal,, i never had acne now its like my while body is being attacked with pimples. I feel so ugly,, one leaves && like 10 pop up. I tried alcohol it didn't work. Any suggestions??
Avatar n tn Hi Dr. Rockoff I am a 26 year old guy who has experiecned acne for half my life, probably even more. I went on accutane 3 times, ages 15, 17 and 20. After that I have tried proactiv and every medication a dermatologist could imagine. Nothing besides accutane ever worked. At this point, I don't see myself growing out of it. I went to get a facial last week and the aesthetician said that I don't have oily skin and that what I have is not acne but ingrown hairs.
Avatar m tn Thank you! I have been using proactiv solution which seems to help maintain the skin with fewer breakouts, but the other ones are still around and sometimes worsen. I will try to stick to your most basic and practical guidelines.
Avatar f tn Of course i didnt think too much of it because i didnt have acne before. I tried all types of acne products even proactiv..nothing seems to work for me...my question to u is: is there any kind of medicine i can take orally thats safe and wont interfere with my mirena that will balance or even lower my estrogen level so that my acne can go away? Please help...i dont want 2 remove my mirena i jus want clear skin.
Avatar f tn ve been wondering this also, I was going to order some to try out because I have been having problems with some acne since I started my second trimester. I haven't ordered yet because I'm not sure if the chemical in it are safe. I was going to call a dermatologist or my doc to ask if it is ok. Thanks for the post!!
1891853 tn?1344648442 im 17w5d and i am still breaking out...i have never in my life had acne...not even with my first child...i thought it woulda left with the first trimester!!!
Avatar f tn Hi, ladies. I'm 25 weeks pregnant with a baby boy & currently my face has been breaking out more & more with acne! Makes me wanna cry, I feel like I'm in high school all over again! What works for this & is safe for the baby?
Avatar f tn I have bad acne too I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and with my 1st daughter I also had bad acne. I've tried everything and like above its hormonal....I will say white antibacterial dial soap helps some. Get your face, chest, back or wherever the acne is wet then scrub w the dial, let it dry totally then use a clean wash cloth with hot water to wipe it off. Don't dry your face after let it dry by itself. This seemed to help me most.
1155893 tn?1263018015 Hey, I finished my accutane course like 5 months ago and my skin has been really clear but recently I've been breaking out some and would like to try out proactiv. Do you think this would be safe? Do you even think proactive works?
Avatar f tn Accutane has many potential side effects but this must be balanced against the fact that it provides the best chance of long term remission from acne. However, as your son may outgrow his tendancy for acne as adolesence passes, I agree this should be considered only if his acne continues after other treatments have been fully explored. Which antibiotic and creams has he tried? Erythromycin has a high resistance rate and oxytetracycline is usually preferable.
440473 tn?1204745862 Hi, I know that you may know this already, but it dosent harm to let you know that proactiv is a anti-acne medication sold OTC.It contains either bezyol peroxide or salicylic acid, both of which have some anti-bacterial properties. however, dryness is a known effect. For dry skin, you should use gentle soaps, emollients and moisturizers and frequent wash with plain water. Further, avoid the sun with or without the medication on your skin. If this doesnt help you much, visit your doctor.
Avatar f tn I was told and have used Peroxide on my acne several times a day. It helps. It is drying but better than acne. I have tried everything you mentioned too and I am too old to have acne. So I am curious about this.
