It sounds like you do not have gastroparesis and I don't think there is any need for a gastric emptying scan or upper GI unless this is happening often.
All I want is a real answer. Can vomit transmit hiv or not? Some sites say yes, and others say no way. If vomit touched my hand, and then a few minutes later I got a cut in the same spot, without washing my hand yet, am I at risk? Im so sick of thinking about this. Has anyone ever gotten hiv from vomit?
I was almost in the hospital with dehydration from mt stomach virus. Try to drink warm flat ginger ale but take small sips at a time. Drinking it flat is the best thing because the bubbles can make your stomach act up and cause you to vomit. My doctor suggested that and that was the only way I could keep fluids down. 7-Up also worked well for me. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and still very naueous and drink flat ginger ale or 7-up on the regular.
and after I threw up I felt ok until an hour later. I got flu like symptoms...chills, queasy stomach, fever...a little stomach pain and body aches.. I got really tired and slept most of the day. Later in the evening I started having diarrhea. The diarrhea got to be uncontrollable and I would be up that night every 2hrs it seemed and would almost not make it to the bathroom. By morning it got more controllable and I looked up remadies and started eating bananas and drinking Gator Aid.
I had to wake up a few times to either vomit (brown) or have diarrhea (extremely watery). Every time I do that, my stomach would seem to flat out a bit, and I'd feel better. But after I go to sleep for however long, the bloatedness would come back and force me to go to the washroom again. It also hurts my urinal track when I pee, and the amount is very little. I've taken 3 of those chewing pills for diarrhea and excessive stomach acid, but it didn't seem to work.
This all started to happen after having the stomach virus about 6 months ago. So far I have lost 30 pounds, I used to weigh about 190 now I weigh 160. I'm 18 yr old male. I have been feeling nauseous, with a weird feeling in my throat almost as if I have to vomit and abdominal pain. I've only vomited twice because of this. My general doctor prescribed me Prilosec thinking it could be acid reflux. The medicine didn't help or couldn't see a difference.
then he became nausea and begin to vomit. he also complain of body aches. i took him to the er and they ran test but did not find anything.they said it was a virus. they gave him a prescription for phenigan. but he still is sick.
After the doc checked me he said that my chest is clear and i have no infection and he said its a virus. now I am rather paranoid person and I did not have any cuts on my hands as I looked the next day and I do not recall having any of her vomit on my hands. I am just wondering if her vomit did get on my hand, is there any risk for HIV transmission? I have read that vomit doesnt transmit unless there is visible blood and clearly i did not stick my hand in it.
The last two times was in November, and in the summer time. I took to her to the ER and they said it was just a stomach virus. But this keeps on coming back, and its scaring me. I have not changed her diet, its still the same. Do you think something might be wrong with her like in her stomach or intestines? Or kids just go throught this. Im a first time mom and Im worried. Try taking some dramamine for the nausea and just lay down and try to relax. Could be that you are getting a virus, hopefully not. But that's how stomach virus always starts for me.
