Stomach virus no fever

Common Questions and Answers about Stomach virus no fever

1770029 tn?1325805955 Hi and sorry you are ill. There is no such thing as "stomach flu" meaning the influenza virus does not cause flu in the stomach. It is considered gastroenteritis. The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.
Avatar f tn I have had some sort of stomach virus for 2 days now (100.7 temp, diarrhea, chills, aches and sweats). I managed to bring the fever down, I'm staying very hydrated and things were starting to look up. My stool has been pretty much liquid and I have had no difficulty with bowl movements. About 6 hours ago, it started to feel like I still have to go but sometimes very little or nothing is coming out and has become very uncomfortable and also not allowing me to sleep.
Avatar f tn It could still be a stomach virus, however, it could be a bacteria or even parasite. I recenlty had a stomach virus that lasted about 7-8 days. Have you ever been tested for or diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)? Your headaches could very well be a sign of dehydration - with all the diarrhea, you can get dehydrated pretty quickly. Be sure and stay well hydrated - water, ginger ale, sports type drinks are all good.
Avatar f tn Symtoms Fever over weekend with no other symtoms. This morning she woke up with red spots all over her back and stomach and chest. Not on legs or arms or face. What I am remembering is my other daughter had a virus, and the doc said that the virus causes these spots after the fever goes away. I know antibotics does nothing for this, so I don't feel there is any reason to take her in as her fever is gone, and she is eatting and drinking. These aren't chicken pox, I know that.
Avatar m tn Four days later i came down with what seemed like a stomach virus (vomiting, diarhea and fever of 100) that last 24 hours. I know that logically there was little risk, but i am uncomfortable with the fact that i came down with an illness/symptoms so close (4 days) to the sexual encounter. Questions: 1. does ars show within 4 days (some info says after a week or two) 2. does ars last as short as 24 hours (some info says that symptoms last 1-2 weeks) 3. general thoughts.
1211508 tn?1343083205 Hello Konakatrina, Well it (the stomach virus) was 24 hours of sheer heel and another 24 hours of feeling pretty out of it (though the vomiting stopped), and after that I began to get my appetite back, and so I ate what I was craving (happened to be chicken at the time...I remember it well). It's also a good idea to eat yogurt after a stomach flu as the cultures in yogurt will replenish what you lost while you were sick, and it's gentle on the stomach.
Avatar f tn As long as you don't have a high grade fever then your baby isn't in any danger. It's just no fun for you to be sick and pregnant. Sorry hun!
Avatar n tn About 2 and a half months ago, a bad stomach virus went around my work. After 3 days, the fever, vommting, and excessive diahrea left, but my stomach has not been right since. I have pain, cramping, gas, rumbling in my stomach and sometimes still diahrea throughout the day. Some hours I feel good, but most of the time I am dealing with some kind of pain in my stomach (not centralized in any one area). It is worst when I wake up in the morning but am never actually woken up from it.

7052683 tn?1392942395 If you had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics you would have had a rash, hives, swelling of the throat or breathing problems, something other than the symptoms you describe. A virus can make your stomach feel like it has been torn up. Stay hydrated. Hope this helps. Check out the diet on it lowered my husbands and my cholesterol a lot and helped with weight loss. It is a big lifestyle change though.
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm having similar symptoms months after a flu /stomach virus also with no definite answers. I get very pronounced bloating , sometimes nausea and a feeling of fullness after eating very little. It has been going on for months. There a thread on steady health community where a lot of us have been having similar ongoing symptoms after a viral type illness. Some people have listed foods, herbs, probiotic treatments that have helped.
Avatar f tn My DD is almost 4 months and has a possible stomach virus. She has a really bad cold with a cough that I took her to the doc for on Monday. He said her lungs sounded perfect and she has not had any fever and acts fine. Last night she threw up after eating, but she was coughing and I assumed she gagged on some phlem. The same thing happened with my husband this morning. He said when he picked her up she threw up a lot, but she was coughing again.
Avatar f tn and after I threw up I felt ok until an hour later. I got flu like symptoms...chills, queasy stomach, fever...a little stomach pain and body aches.. I got really tired and slept most of the day. Later in the evening I started having diarrhea. The diarrhea got to be uncontrollable and I would be up that night every 2hrs it seemed and would almost not make it to the bathroom. By morning it got more controllable and I looked up remadies and started eating bananas and drinking Gator Aid.
Avatar m tn I am not vomiting and have no diarrhoea and my stools are normal (no blood, discolouration, runniness). I do not have a fever. My doctor said I may just have a stomach virus, as I have no abdominal pain or cramping. I am also a bit gassy. Do I have a stomach virus?? Please help.
Avatar n tn Hi everyone! I am 7w pregnant (tomorrow) and have a stomach virus. My 15 month old daughter had it yesterday & I have it today. No fever, no vomitting - just the other. Seems maybe like a 24 hour bug. Has anyone experienced a stomach virus this early in pregnancy or know if it can cause any problems? I don't think I'd be as worried if i was further along. Thanks for any responses.
1356767 tn?1277278668 I have an 18 month old son who has devolped this thing where he'll throw up every hour starting at 5 in the morning going until about 9 in the morning, and with diarrhea all through out the day. Sometimes its green and watery, others normal colored diarrhea. He has no fever and is normal up until he gets sick. The doctors keep saying that he has a stomach bug such as the "day flu" that is going around, however, no one at his day care is sick and no one in our household is.
Avatar n tn In high temperature condition (Jakarta is very hot) I would sweat on my head, but my body would just feel hot and I could feel my pores opening up but there was no sweat excreted at all. I would have fever every night but no sweat at all (I was positive it was neuropathy even though I never had neuropathy before) Between January and February 2009 I lost 12-14 lbs of weight and looked like a skinny zombie. Then I developed rash on my face for a week.
Avatar m tn I still think that the HepB test is mistaking another kind of virus for HepatitisB, but I'm no professional. Regardless, the FACTS remain: HepB Surface Antigen positive that HAD a viral load of 17,000,000 (I say 'HAD' because I did the viral load test 3 months ago, and I have no idea what it is now). I will wait to see an immunologist to find more out. This is all just very strange.
Avatar f tn A week ago I came down with a pretty bad stomach bug. Fever, nausea/vomiting, chills, terrible diarrhea. I gave my body the weekend to feel better but each day I woke up feeling slightly worse than the day before. The nausea and diarrhea were unbearable. When Monday morning rolled aeound I figured I'd better see a doctor. I went to Urgent Care and got a bag of I.V. fluids and 8mg of Zofran intravenously. I was extremely dehydrated and it definitely helped!
Avatar m tn Last Thursday afternoon I had a very slight case of diarrhea (2 or 3 bowel movements) and on Friday morning I woke up with a slight pain in the muscles in my legs then later that afternoon I came down with fever and some slight stomach pain and no appetite. I figured it was a stomach virus so I drank tea with pure honey and lots of 7-up like the doc once suggested I do for those symptoms.
Avatar n tn 2 weeks ago the pain was so bad I took him to the ER but no diagnosis was made. We took him to his pediatrician 2 times as well and no diagnosis was made nor were tests done (at my request). The pain tends to be worse in the morning and doesn't seem to have a specific location but it appears to be in the lower abdominal area according to my son. Could this be something his body is just fighting or should I look at having some tests done?
Avatar n tn It won't hurt to use it, but it probably won't help very much, either. Fever blisters are caused by a herpes virus, and antibiotics don't kill viruses. Antibiotics only kill bacteria. You can put any mild lotion or cream on the blister. Pretty much anything that feels soothing will be okay. If you get fever blisters often, you might want to talk to your doctor about a prescription for something to take that will cut the outbreak short.
Avatar n tn The reason for the biopsy was because the gland is very enlarged and with the other symptoms, it suggested a virus/infection of some kind, or may have been lymphoma. No infection/virus was found, and he's now fairly confident that it isn't Lymphoma, but said there is still a chance, so he's reviewing the gland in 3 months. Hopefully, the physician will shed some further light on this. If you have any further insight or advice, please post again. Your imput is really helpful. Thanks again.
Avatar f tn No they kept me over night to monitor. And yes he is good and healthy. I have tried, but no luck. My body just isn't responding.
Avatar n tn Fever blisters are often associated with stomach problems. Stress and anxiety are notorious for causing stomach problems.
1296191 tn?1280703473 Not sure how high it was because I had know thermometer. Day 2 and 3 I had no fever and just remained sick in bed. Day 4 the fever came back really strong and along with it came an excruciating pain in my middle back on the left side. There was only one position I could lay in. I would prop all the pillows and would have to have my left side elevated about 6 inches off the bed so I was slightly twisted.
Avatar f tn I don't have any fever. I'm just wondering if it's a virus? If not I'm going to have to go through my supplements and meds. The only new med is the Pramipexole .05 twice a day (Mirapex). The supplements are Sam-E, D 2000, A and Magnesium 250 twice a day. I'm going to cut the Pramipexole to once a day. Does anyone see if any one of these would cause this or is there a virus going around?
Avatar n tn The next day, yesterday I had no fever but still felt bloated and had no appetite. I went to dr. and he gave me antacid precrip. and gas x. I have taken yesterday and today and still i feel bloated and full all the time. My stomach even looks bigger and i havent been eating and I have no appetite. I am forcing myself to eat.I am worried to death about this. My stools have been normal everyday as well. Could this be stress/anxiety? Cancer? Could i have done something working out?
Avatar m tn After the doc checked me he said that my chest is clear and i have no infection and he said its a virus. The chest pain is getting worse like when i breath i feel this pain in my chest area that is getting worse every hour. Could a virus cause chest pain? The fever also comes & goes. But right now i just checked and its 37.1, im usually around 36.5-6.
Avatar f tn A couple of weeks ago I had a stomach virus that subsided after a couple of days. However, 2 days ago I woke up with a very bloated, gurgling stomach. I felt so full that I had no appetite and had nothing to eat all day. At about 10pm that night I became very nauseous and was up all night with vomiting and diarrhea and had a fever of 100.8. I am still very bloated and nauseous. Can this be another stomach virus so soon?
