There bad strain of the stomach bug going around. My son had it for over a week. Make sure you drink lots of fluids so you don't get dehydrated.
I'm 32 weeks and this awful stomach virus is running ramped around my office. I'm scared to death of catching it as I sit here armed with a bottle of Lysol IC. Any suggestions short of going home? Can't miss work when I'm soooo close to the end plus all my time has been put towards maternity.
Does anyone know if a virus is going around that has a itchy rash that looks like chicken pox? A couple week ago my mother and I were visiting a family member at the hospital. A few days later my mother broke out with a rash resembling chicken pox or poison ivy all over her back and a few bumps on her arms and neck. Although she hadn't been in contact with any poison ivy, we kinda chalked it up to being this since we had heard you could get it without actually touching it thru the air.
Is there some new bug going around on the East coast that could explain these symptoms? Thanks in advance.
Both times there were known stomach viruses going around but most people did not have the severe pain and it only lasted a day or two. Mine went on for 3-4 days. I am 46 years old and have had signs of IBS and a spastic colon. My mother was diagnosed with diverticulosis when she was in her 40's, she did not know she had it until she had an absess. Can a stomach be worsened if I have a problem with my colon or can gastrenteritis have these symptoms?
I read somewhere that stomach viruses are viable for two weeks, and the incubation period is 48 hours. The virus was going around my workplace, so I stayed away for 13 days, and she got it anyway. I hope Liam is luckier!
My DD is almost 4 months and has a possible stomach virus. She has a really bad cold with a cough that I took her to the doc for on Monday. He said her lungs sounded perfect and she has not had any fever and acts fine. Last night she threw up after eating, but she was coughing and I assumed she gagged on some phlem. The same thing happened with my husband this morning. He said when he picked her up she threw up a lot, but she was coughing again.
=( Im being so mean to my bf, and I feel so sorry but I don't feel like being touched or hugged or nothing when I don't feel good!!!! ='( stomach virus maybe??? the only different thing that I've been eating is sunflower seeds =D just tried them couple days ago and loved them! but I haven't been eating that much! I don't think?
Dr's think it's the ducts of my pancreas/gall bladder going into spasms. Just last week I had another stomach virus- vomiting, fever etc. And about 3 days afterwards had an extreme pain attack in the middle of the night. Again most likely my ducts cramping. And I've been nauseated ever since. Anyway, I am still nauseous and my abdomen is all distended and bloated and it's now been 10 days since I was sick. I think my stomach lining is inflamed from being sick with the virus.
i still think something's funky in my digestive system, with the itching from everything and the stomach pain when i eat too many vegetables etc. so the doctor said it was either a false positive or i cleared it on my own. he said no further testing needs to be done. but shouldn't i assess for liver damage (fibrosis or cirrhosis)? and yes, i am pretty sure that my weird weekend symptoms were from stress!
It quite often takes a while after a stomach virus for things to totally calm down. I've heard that the stomach virus that's been going around (at least where I live) has quite often taken people about 6 weeks to fully recover from. It's quite possible this is nothing serious, but you may still want to consider at least calling your primary physician and let them know what's going on and how you're feeling and see if they can give any further advice or instructions.
I did receive treatment for the possible bacterial infections STD given z pack, doxy, ofoflax, uribel and something for trich. My neuro said it's probably a unknown virus. I have been on a few rounds of antivirals for herpes just to see if there is a reaction, the antivirals seem to help the symptoms but herpes test was neg. I am thinking this maybe undetected herpes infection accompany with a fungal overgrowth due to excess antibiotics.
Coud be, Carson had to leave school a few weeks ago as he began throwing up- he made it out of music class in time, poor kid! I know our peds nurse has always told me if hte fever leaves & comes back, they need to be seen as there may be something going on. My kids were always problem children when they got sick, so they pretty much make me bring them in anytime I have to call. Hope your little one feels better soon, not a fun way to spend early summer.
i have a high fever (probably viral) and that's going around my school. a stomach virus is also going around. this all in addition to the typical colds, ear infections, etc... that are constantly present. it's not your fault, there's nothing you can do other than keep them home when they are sick. if all parents did that then maybe there'd be less stuff going around. of course there'd still be some bugs, but it drives me crazy when parents dope up their kids and send them to school.
No one could possibly diagnose a virus on the internet. Medications do not cause viruses. You need to see a doctor. It could be your blood pressure or it could be a million other things. Let us know what the doctor says.
2 weeks ago I came down with a stomach virus. I ended up relapsing a few days later because I went back to normal foods to soon, I was eating oatmeal, salad, a turkey wrap, buttered noodles. I went to the doctor and he recommended I go on a liquid diet for 24 hr and then ease into bland foods. A couple days went by and I realized I wasn't feeling any better, I was nauseous all day and could only take a couple bites of food before I felt extremely full.
ive yet to go back to the doctor i was thinking maybe i need to get my tonsols removed or it might be a bad virus going around but ive had them checked 2 weeks ago and took that medicine so it cant be that i dont think oo and my fevers have been very mild and getting headaches..

I have been having some stomach problems for about a week a dulll achy kind of feeling right around my belly button no vomiting did have loose stools (thought perhaps it was a touch of a stomach virus) at beginning but now back to normal on bowel movements tried eating clear liquids bananas, rice. Staying away from gassy foods has helped but still have a gnawing feeling in stomach. I am going to the doctor next week. anyone have anything similar?
I've been fortunate to not go into relapse with virus or infection. I have to say that this wretched stomach virus that is going around is absolutely horrible. It's hit 4 in my house, I've been spared for now. It's a complete body drainer for days if not over a week after even for the young and spry. My youngest lost 10 lbs in 24 hours even after the wretching and potty woes was well over. Dishrag explains it so well. That's what they look like.
Thanks Annie
My husband, 7-month-old and I have all had on and off diarrhea and upset stomachs for about 2-3 weeks. My 4-year-old has had no problems. I first thought we must have a slight stomach virus, but since it has been lingering on so long, I don't know what to think. DD had 4 diapers of really lose stools yesterday. We are usually lucky to get one that is hard. I feel like my stomach is upset everytime I eat and I regularly have diarrhea with it. My DH say he feels the same.
At six and a half weeks I developed body aches for about a day followed about 2-3 days of Diarreah, I was travelling and others noted they were having stomach issues as well. Around week 8.5 I develop a severe cold, productive cough, runny nose, horse voice that has now lasted about a week and a half. I am now approaching week 10, and I am going to go for a confirmatory result at week 12/13 as I know it will be the only thing that gives me piece of mind.
I was diagnosed with the Epstein-Barr virus, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, around 14 years ago. I had extremely swollen lymph nodes in my neck, as well as my axillary region (under my arms), off and on sore throat, low grade fevers, sleep problems, and general unwellness. It took about a year to get diagnosed, and during that time I feared HIV, but didn't have the balls to get tested. Finally, I did, and was negative.
I'm not med Dr. but maybe you got a stomach virus. Check you stools, do you have nausea?
