Stomach virus gas

Common Questions and Answers about Stomach virus gas

stomach

I have had some sort of stomach virus for 2 days now (100.7 temp, diarrhea, chills, aches and sweats). I managed to bring the fever down, I'm staying very hydrated and things were starting to look up. My stool has been pretty much liquid and I have had no difficulty with bowl movements. About 6 hours ago, it started to feel like I still have to go but sometimes very little or nothing is coming out and has become very uncomfortable and also not allowing me to sleep.
Can this be indicative of anything serious or is this normal (for these many days) after having a stomach virus? How can I stop/prevent the gas? What is happening with my head? Please help.
I went to the Dr and they did a pregnancy test and other urinary tests and everything came back normal so they diagnosed me with a stomach virus. But I've never known of a virus lasting this long and causing extreme heartburn. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? A stomach virus or something more serious? Please help!!!!
After 3 days, the fever, vommting, and excessive diahrea left, but my stomach has not been right since. I have pain, cramping, gas, rumbling in my stomach and sometimes still diahrea throughout the day. Some hours I feel good, but most of the time I am dealing with some kind of pain in my stomach (not centralized in any one area). It is worst when I wake up in the morning but am never actually woken up from it.

I started a stomach virus on March 5 - it began with nauseau and stomach cramps, diarrhea - as the days went on I became very bloated, have constant gas and have spent alternate days on the bowl with diarrhea every 5-10 minutes for hours at a time. How long do these stomach virus' usually last, or is this unusual? Is there anything I can do to relieve the symptoms - I look like I'm 6 months pregnant with the bloating! Thanks!
Just about 25 days ago my dad died got very stressed and since about a week ago I have felt a throbbing in my stomach and when i eat anything solid my stomach hurts and i get tingling in hands and feet and real bad gas and headaches some times pain in my rib cage on both sides. I am hungry but cant eat.
So I went home feeling ok then next day I got my blood taken and right after I felt really weak and my stomach pain came back but this time it felt like gas in my stomach was always going in to my heart. it was hard to sleep and it made my heart feel weak but by the next day that went away but the stomach pain didn't so that was this past Wednesday.
I did receive treatment for the possible bacterial infections STD given z pack, doxy, ofoflax, uribel and something for trich. My neuro said it's probably a unknown virus. I have been on a few rounds of antivirals for herpes just to see if there is a reaction, the antivirals seem to help the symptoms but herpes test was neg. I am thinking this maybe undetected herpes infection accompany with a fungal overgrowth due to excess antibiotics.
First it is entirely possible to get afib via gas bloat and other stomach and digestive tract disorders. If your stomach and digestive tract is as described then you must have inflamation. All this inflamation and bloat and gas will push up on your diaphram and surrounding areas and cause great discomfort and pain but also can press upon nerves.
Referring to your post regarding A/Fib and bloated stomach/gas, I too have had the same experience. I believe it is a mechanical effect in that the gas inflates the intestine which in turn pushes on the vagus nerve or the bottom of the heart and triggers the A/F episode. The sensation is located under the left rib cage not in the chest. I can also induce A/F by swallowing something very cold on an empty stomach. This freaks out the nerve and the A/F proceeds.
I was feeling really tired for a week or so and generally not feeling good then 9 days ago I started to get a bad stomach only in the morning, each and every morning it would have the same pattern. I did not vomit once (even though I felt nauseous a lot) and never had a fever. Once in this time, I had a rash which came and went within a couple of hours. I did have the shivers once or twice.
The most recent blood was about a week and a half ago, and it's never much - just spotting or a patch. I've been ill recently too, and been vomiting and had a stomach virus and I've been constantly tired. I don't know if all this is linked, but I don't want to visit the doctor and waste their time if it's just something minor :/ Could it be something serious? I'm a young women in my early twenties, and I do get a bit paranoid.
I have pain in my stomach, feels like a stomach virus pain if that makes sense. It's been on and off all day. Does anyone know how to stop or at least ease this?
I imagine the swelling you have is of course because your guts are full, and as the waste breaks down, it'll give off gas. An alka seltzer will help get the gas out of your stomach, and it'll also make you feel more comfortable. The only other thing I can think of about shingles is it does cause a paralysis of some kind... could be if it's near your abdomen, and once the shingles goes away, your digestion will improve, but I am not an expert on all that stuff.
I have since found what I can and can't eat to prevent the trigger but God help me if I get a stomach virus!!! I usually just have to take anti gas maalox and lay down until I pass the gas naturally. Not the best solution but all I can do at this point.
So I'm 17 weeks and four days pregnant, first time. So I got really sick with a virus last friday, and I was throwing up non stop and diarrhea from about seven pm to about three am. So since then, my stomach has been rumbling, but not bc I'm hungry. Just out of the blue it will start to do it. So I just wanted to know if this kind of thing is normal?

I'm starting to get tired, but not much more than usual. Just an upset stomach, the diarrhea, gas. I'm just starting to worry more and more and should know about some of my tests tomorrow.
dont like seeing dr. unless absolutely necessary. My stomach sounds like it is under attack it growls and gurgles. Very irritable, bloaty and gas filled. It came upon suddenly, Comes with a headache on my left side. Stomach pain/discomfort is all over most uncomfortable spot between rib cage. I cant sleep it is so uncomfortable, i am hungry when i eat the cramps get worse. Some release from burbing and farting (usually not dry). and mild diarreha. some nausea (no vomiting).
Random bowel movements (soft, hard, dark, light) Significant Weight loss Twitching Constant low pressure gas (both ends) Lower back pain on flexing Frequent fungal infections on penis Frequent mouth ulcers The doctors and specialist are stumped and don't know what to do. My test results show: Elevated pancreatic amylase (7 to 10 times upper limit) with normal lipase and elastase - for this reason and no evidence on CT and MRCP my doctor won't diagnose pancreatitis.
I thought that i was getting better after a couple of days, but soon was awakened with a stomach flu in the middle of the night, I'm not throwing up anymore, but still have diarrhea and a very consistent pain in my abdomen, which I'm pretty sure is gas. Although i haven't been able to walk upright for long amounts of time without the pain becoming overwhelming its almost by my belly button but isn't stuck in one spot. Any help is appreciated.
Hi, I'm due August 15th with my second child and during my first pregnancy I never had this problem so I'm a little worried. Last night I woke up because I was having really bad stomach pains and it lasted about 20mins and I passed back out. Now that I'm awake I am feeling very nauseous, should I call my doctor and be so worried? Thank you.
Hi I am a 47yr old Male suffering with stomach pain. I recently had h.pylori virus that was teated with antibiotics after the initial treatment I was once again prescribed the antibiotics as I had constant diarrhea. After the second treatment I was prescribed Losec and this settled my stomach and fixed my diarrhea. Shortly after I had a anti inflammatory drug (Brufen) which immediately caused stomach pain, swollen belly and constant belching and gas.
I am a 22 year old and for any years I have been experiencing severe stomach pain, gas, and cramps. The pain is usually after eating but sometimes it just comes randomly. I always feel bloated and am nervous that I will pass gas most of the time. Also my stomach is always making loud gurgling noises. Another thing that I don't know if it could be related is that my muscles seem to cramp up a lot. My legs are always cramping up no matter how much water I drink.
I'm a 27-year-old female. Last February I came down with a stomach virus and it took me a while to get back to normal eating. Then in about June I had some events come up that made me anxious and I developed diarrhea and a constant feeling of nausea and major intestinal discomfort. It made me incredibly ill and I thought that I had a stomach bug. I went to the doctor and was given chlordiazepoxide and the doctor only did a blood and urine test.
