I have this problem, it caused an ulcer in my stomach, I had to be on a diet of low acidic foods such as veg, low acid fruit, only whole grain - never seeded - bread. No white carbs at all. Only water, no sugary foods/drinks and no caffeine either. It's an extremely healthy diet but not much fun lol.
I was prescribed gaviscon and omeprizol, a stomach acid blocker.

I posted a question here on Feb 18th about stomach pains I had. Well these pains are back now. I think it may be an ulcer or inflammation of some kind. The last time I had this problem I got some Omeprazole off my doctor. I finished those and the pains came back last week so I got some more on Tuesday.
Problem is that not it's a lot worse. I haven't ate or slept in 4 nights and I'm now starting to get constipated. Some thing I've never been before!
I was recommended to take Gaviscon or Mylanta when necessary. So, I bought Gaviscon tablets and took them when my gastric pain/heartburn/acid reflux was bad or annoying. I got sick of taking them everytime and stopped.
I'm still having those problems now and I really don't know what is it. Basically, what I feel is:
1) Like 'bubbles' at the abdomen, around diaphragm. Then I may press that area to ease that feeling.
ve been taking voltarol over along period of time for my low back pain I presumed that I may have an ulcer so I went to the docter stopped taking the voltarol and went for a barium meal. They found nothing no ulcer etc..I take 2 omaprazole every morning.
Since I was previously on a prescription anti inflammatory for tennis elbow my doctor thought it was a stomach ulcer. After a month of omeprazole I was no better and had a stool test for H.Pylori which came up negative. Since then I've been suffering in silence trying to figure out if I can solve the problem myself by changing my diet or taking over the counter medication but have had no luck.
The problem now seems to be more associated with my abdomen.
I have a hiatus hernia and Gerd, and have had an ulcer and many years of digestive problems....feeling bloated. full and stomach spasms which valium helps with a bit, plus antacids.
Lately especially, after I eat a normal size meal of anything I get spasms, short of breath and irregular rhythm and short runs of SVT about 10 minutes after I finish eating. This goes on for about an hour or so, and I take Zantac and some Tenormin and it gradually settles.
I'd go with the stomach ulcer or with gerd.
I've had what I believe is gerd the past few days. Last night in particular it was extremely painful and I got limited sleep. I too have been getting pain when eating and drinking and activity has been bringing on the pain too. I guess that is more when I am bending over.
If you're lying down to relax and experience pain then that would fit with acid reflux.
I put the pain down to the acid.
tonsillitis, lung infection due to mold, stomach infection, reflux, weak LES, hiatal hernia, allergy, anxiety, stress, malnutrition, ibuprofen ulcer, too much fasting...
Tried antacids (pepto, gaviscon..) but stopped because they increase the burning sensation. Instead I find relief with throat lozenges, cloves, ginger, or by rubbing vics on my nose and throat.
I suspected an ulcer of some kind. Gaviscon has not helped. Gravol puts me to sleep. Alcohol has not made a difference. I will try a double pillow; not eating or drinking dairy for at least 2 hours before sleeping; and will sleep on my left side.
Have an appointment to see the doc in 10 days. Will hopefully get an upper GI endoscopy and ultrasound upper abdomen and perhaps a barium swallow.
Will keep you advised.
s had gall stones knows. But they were always put down to the recurring ulcer, without even checking if I still had an ulcer... I was offered antidepressants and counselling!
So now they're trying to persuade me I'm crazy. Long term pain can have a caustic effect on the personality when you're being dismissed! So I carried on on my own, treating my so called ulcer.
About 10 years ago I started aching all over and getting short of breath, constant fatigue...

Last 2 months I'm suffering from bloating, belching, burping, flatulence, heartburn, acid reflux and last month it all got worse and after every meal I have really sharp, burning pain in my stomach, especially at one spot. I also noticed my stool is really dry and there is undigested food in it too. I have difficulty to go to the toilet and never feel any relief afterwards. I also noticed my nails breaks every easily and I have white spots on it.
What could be wrong with the upper part of my stomach with constant stabbing pain and nausea but not all the time. Lately at least 2-3 times week.
im 32 years old male for the past few years ive been getting strange sensations in my stomach and chest i get chest pain and also feeling of pressure and also a bloating nausea sensation in my stomach symptoms dont always be the same they change i cud have sum light chest pain and nothing else other days i cud have chest pressure dat cud last for a day im a regular drinker and smoker also i went 2 my gp he said its panic attacks and anxiety just like to know if anyone experience the same symptom

Thank you for your question. Gastroesophageal reflux (GER; when gastric contents move from the stomach to the esophagus) is not a disease. It occurs normally. GER DISEASE or GERD, has a wide spectrum of disease, and is probably one of the most common diseases of mankind.
In regards to your first question, I would wonder why you believe you have too "low of stomach acid"? Do you mean too low of stomach pH (which actually means more acid)?

I noticed today after toiled I wiped and it was very sticky and very dark brown ans a strange odor . Stool looked normal. I am having GERD flare right now and take Gaviscon every night(almost) Have started Pantoprazole today. Yesterday I had grilled pork steak . I also eat about 50grms of dark chocolate every day.
if you really had that problem you can fix it with gentler things, such as not eating soon before going to bed (lying down causes the acid to flow up rather than stay in the stomach digesting your food), and using some natural remedies that coat the stomach rather than suppress the acid. But again, I don't think, having had this problem for years, that you're describing it.
ve been taking Prevacid for 2 days and its helping though I still take Gaviscon liquid in the morning and when I go to bed. Today my stomach has been making noises and when the cramps peak, there is a gurgling noise and it feels good, like pressure is being released. Any ideas what this could be or suggestions for natural remedies? I hate to be dependent on medication...
i have been havin buning sensation in both my head and my stomach i have been taking GAVISCON ANS NEXIUM BUT STILL BURNIG WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.

try Gaviscon chewables- I actually take the generic brand- half the price and tastes better :-)

or you can try enzymes with meals- I take one with beans,dairy,chips that are hard to digest, popcorn- Carlson's Digestive Aid #34 health food stores or online- about 15$ for 60 tablets
I've been suffering with symptoms of an ulcer for over a few years. My Kaiser doctor gave me the blood test to test for H. Pylori antibodies. The result was 4.4 units (I guess Kaiser says if it's less than 20 units, it's negative). The doctor said the 4.4 was nothing and that everyone has those antibodies; he said I don't have the bacteria. I asked him if he could just treat me to see if it helps. He declined.
Thanks for all your suggestions guys I'm gonna give them a try, something must work for me just think it's the taste and texture of gaviscon I can't stomach, and I think I'm driving my bf mad he says I should just take gaviscon but it makes me vomit, the joys of pregnancy eh xx
