Stomach rash on toddler

Common Questions and Answers about Stomach rash on toddler

rash

My 2yr. old son starting showing signs of, what I recognized, an allergic skin rash. It isn't as severe as hives, or raised in sections (but that was the first thing that came to mind). I tried to remember if he had a new food lately, but couldn't think of anything (and I've been conservative on what he eats since the rash appeared). The rash, when I first noticed it, was about 3 days ago, & was on the inside of his arms, chest, stomach, & back.
My daughter has had a rash on her face since right before Christmas. It has stayed localized to around her mouth (under her nose and on her chin) and most recently her right eye (below and on the eyelid). It hasn't occurred on or under her left eye. It looks like little raised red dots (some larger than others), but there has been no seeping, oozing, or crusting. It does not appear to itch because I have not seen her scratch at it.
old who has had diarrhea, mucus, in stool for wks, then stopped temporarily, started again. Very foul smell, mostly green in color, mucus and now a fever. This has gone on for 1 1/2 mos. We stopped milk just in case, that didn't help. She is on gatorade, bland diet, and in between this had a sinus infection and took amoxicillin for 10days. Her fever went up to 102.9 is coming down with motrin/tylenol in between. Stool was tested for parasites.
His bloating went away, he's finally gaining weight, and is much happier. Check out the gluten free diets on the net, and put your little one on it. Once they are on it, they wouldn't show up positive on a biopsy/colonoscopy. The colonoscopy is truly a lot of agony for a child. My grandson went 26 hours without food or liquids for this test and it was horrible to deal with.
She has broken out just about every day since then, epecially around her wrists, legs, waist line, and ankles. She has only had one place on her forehead, and only one or two on her stomach and back. I am beginning to get scared that this is something serious. I have changed all detergents, and the cat is out. What should I do next?
I came across another thread on another site that provides a lot of ideas on dealing with back pain in car seats -including keeping the carseat in reverse so the legs don't dangle (which can put pressure on the lower back) or providing some other foot support for them. I'm going to try it immediately! Hope this helps some of you! http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?
She suffered with the sunburn rash and bloody diapers for about 4 to 5 months until I took her to a dermatologist who was able to get it calmed down and it even disappeared for about 1 week. The it came back as a red spotted rash on her private that flares up and moves up her stomach and down her legs and the spots often turn to large abscesses that are very hard, red, and very painful.
JenJen - infact anyone on this thread - please reply and tell me how you got on after your toddler started behaving strangely following illness. My (nearly 2 year old) daughter has been going absolutely nuts for 10 days and 10 long nights now following a 40c fever nearly 2 weeks ago. Wife and I are exhausted and doctors seem to be giving us no help or advice! Please tell me if your kids returned to "what used to be" normal !
Well my nephew kicked me in my stomach when i was maybe 14 weeks and i went to the er bc i was worried but everything was fine bc they said he was protected . Now im 36 weeks and he just kicked me in the stomach again should i worry .
It started out small with a few spots located on his back and stomach. Over the last 15 months it has spread to his entire back, stomach, neck, arms, top of hands, inner thighs and the tops of the feet. We have seen 3 pediatricians, multiple dermatologists (including a pediatric) with no answers. We have done a bx and genetic testing and have tried a few steroid creams with no improvement. It has recently started spreading to his face including his forehead and his nose. I have pictures!
I believe in the most natural route possible. The rash used to be so bad that I got deep red blotches on my chest on the way to work. The combo that has worked best for me is no caffeine or chocolate on days that I am social, 3 pharmaceutical fish oil pills in the morning, 200 mg high quality magnesium twice daily, and one 300mg kira st john's wort in the morning. My rash has become almost obsolete for day to day socializing. If I have a "performance" situation - i.e.
So, I am no closer to reaching a conclusion. Keep in mind, though, that fatty, rich, or even spicy foods can irritate conditions such as gastroparesis and gall bladder. You simply may have to avoid these foods, and avoid eating massive amounts of food at one sitting. There also are medications that help reduce the likelihood of spasm of the stomach's outlet. Of course, you may require gallbladder ultrasound, etc.
From what I understnd about the hypoallergenic ones the milk proteins are broken down so they are gentler on the stomach. It may take a few times before you find the right one. Remember all babies are different. But start out with one of the ones that someone had GOOD luck with then go from there.
I've heard about Morgellons, but to my knowledge have never had Lyme disease (and I think that is one of the diseases you'd know if you get) I DID however have a completely unexplained rash on both of my ankles for about a year straight... nothing worked on it, and no Dr. ever told me what it could possibly be, they scraped the "sores" to check for scabies or any type of mite/parasite what have you, and came back with nothing.
Keep in mind, he may get a rash too. Many of us did. (I got that at about week 10, lol.) After I got on the Zofran and could actually eat food again, I did a few things to help the appetite. Nothing sounded or tasted good (still really does not) and so I started adding things like olives, greeek olives, herbed olives, beet pickles, regular pickles, etc. to the plate along side of a small portion of my main meal (meat).
An itchy rash behind his ears, a rash around his eyes and on his face, a rash on his neck and hive like rash on his belly. The rash took a few days to subside. We are in the process of having him tested for allergies.
Dec came and went no AF so went in to see if I was Pergo but no I was not so they put me on provrea then Clomid on 3-7 100mg. I am now on my 3 and last round of Clomid I am on 150mg 3-7 days and I hope that this time I O because on my last round they told me I O early on cd 15 I have never O in 11 years so that was a good thing. But doc said that the numbers where not where he wanted them to be at so that is why he up my clomid this time.
pick safer places to kiss him - the top of his head ,his forehead and his cheeks ( unless he has an active rash on those areas ). you also can make a game out of kissing him for when you have cold sores - teach him "hollywood" kisses as I like to call them - very loud and overly exaggerated air smooches on both sides of the face like they do on award shows. It's a good way to protect him when you have an active cold sore.
At the initial consultation with the Dr. I discussed my sons history with chronic ear infections as a toddler, frequent treatment with antibiotics, dairy intolerance, chronic diarrhea(severe diaper rash caused by Candida overgrowth), and his mother(divorced w/shared parenting time) routinely dosing him with Ibuprofen on an almost daily basis. He also suffers from Autism. Not aware that the Dr. had treated him for the most common cause H.
I have an 18 month old son who has devolped this thing where he'll throw up every hour starting at 5 in the morning going until about 9 in the morning, and with diarrhea all through out the day. Sometimes its green and watery, others normal colored diarrhea. He has no fever and is normal up until he gets sick. The doctors keep saying that he has a stomach bug such as the "day flu" that is going around, however, no one at his day care is sick and no one in our household is.
this has been going on for 18 months.. LDH is the only blood test he has had thats been abnormal... & now its at the highest ever.. 896 . his symptoms are reoccuring episodes of malaise & lethargy...sits around many days unable to really do much normal toddler activty saying he's tired & his legs hurt a bit... His lymph nodes in his neck (cervical) & nodes at base of his head enlarge & then decrease all the time (but are ALWAYS prominent even on a good period).
Does any of this sound like hep B because I have read some things about syptoms that I seem to have particularly the itching and pain in stomach. Heres what I am experiencing..... 2 weeks after sex with an unkown female i woke up extremely itchy over my entire body. The itching went away over the body however I still had a pretty constant itch in my genital area for roughly 2 weeks. i started to feel a bit worn down as well (could have been stress) and had a few mild headaches randomly.
Is your son on a lot of dairy products? have you tried cutting dairy out completely? If the doctors can't find something "mechanically" wrong, my opinion would be a food allergy? My son gets the big "d" with just a touch too much sugar! He had it for like 7 days and i realized it was the kool-aid...oops (we were out of juice and he thought kool-aid was juice and wouldn't let me put it away unless he got some...ugh. so I didn't think it would hurt).
I am planning on addressing it with my Doctor but am not sure if I should wait until my next scheduled appointment in 2 months or sooner. It is getting annoying and painful enough to where I may do it sooner. I am wondering if anyone has had experience with Adderall XR or Wellbutrin XL and Reflux symptoms? I started Wellbutrin about 6 months ago, and Adderall XR about 3-4 months ago. I finally feel like I have the side effects under control for the most part.
The night of the doctors appointment I was home alone with him because my husband was working. I thought my toddler was possessed! I've taken care of him several times while on high doses of steroids, but this was different. He was hallucinating. He literally ran and threw himself around the house for 6 hours nonstop. He was screaming no no no! He would reach for things that were not there. He would then act like something was attacking him.
one doc says lupus; one says eczema. Extremely dry eyes and sometimes the mouth. Cluster headaches that come and go. Chronic nausea and diarrhea. Extreme fatigue. Chronic blood in urine. Elevated SED rate, low IgG – underwent one year of IgG infusions. In the past five years, I have been diagnosed with: Peripheral Neuropathy in GI tract, left arm, both lower legs and feet. Degenerative arthritis – one knee replacement. Severe restless leg syndrome that flares every day, asleep or sitting.
Told to apply hydrocortisone 1% to rash on testicles. No improvement on penile rash - in fact, the rash had gotten redder, and seemed to become more prevalent on this day and the next. *I later returned to the doctor because my flu-like symptoms persisted for more than a week and a half, and was prescribed Amoxicillin. Flu-symptoms disappeared completely about 3 days later after starting the antibiotic.
Has she been sick at all, it sounds like it could just be a viral rash, that usually starts on the stomach and chest. Try some cool rags to see if it reduces the redness. Poor Little honey!!
