Stomach rash in pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Stomach rash in pregnancy

rash

So I noticed a rash on my stomach this morning. It's not raised and so far doesn't really itch. (My stomach has been a little itchy from time to time for weeks - no change up or down on that due to the rash). The only thing I can find on-line is a PUPPS rash, but it's definitely not that, it isn't raised. It's more like my skin is just specled red - weird!
Sun morning i had a lil rash on my stomach but no where else. So do u think it's the sunblock? Ormaybe the sun? I still have it but not as pink or bumpy as it was.
Im SO glad that i found this post, I have the same thing, only mine do not itch at all, they are just there but in the exact same place as you. Is this associated with pregnancy? because i have never had a rash that i can remember! I have been wondering the past few days if i could be pregnant because my period is all messed up, i had the rash for two weeks, been spotting pinkish discharge for the past four days, and my period was supposed to be due tomorrow.
Hi! I am 21 weeks pregnant. I have a rash on just my right arm and when I went to the doctor she just told me it was a normal pregnancy rash. What is a "normal pregnancy rash"? Has anyone else had one? P.S. I found out last week I'm having a boy! Yay!
I had a rash all over my stomach a little later in my pregnancy and then ended up getting it again right after delivery. The rash looked a lot like little white head pimples and itched like crazy. Not sure it that's what yours is??? Anyway, I was told it's a pregnancy related rash and both times it cleared up on it's own. Best wishes!

I was in the doctors office for it and also the hospital for heart problems and they said they don't know what it is. The nurse said it could be a heat rash, I live in Michigan how in the world could I have a heat rash at this time of year? Also, it's getting worse as the days go by it's been a week since I've seen a doctor and they said it would go away when I called yesterday. I'm kind of worried, since I'm so miserable I can't handle it anymore..
I asked my mom and she said it could be heat rash, but when i asked my co worker she said they are stretchmarks in the making! I was wondering if any of you have experienced this Any suggestions???? What are they?

I hung around the house today and around 8pm I got dressed and noticed that nasty red rash around my stomach. It goes all the way to the other side of my stomach into my belly button. I have been feeling bloated and sleepy for weeks now and now I have this weird rash. Any suggestions? You can tell from the pic how bloated I am. It hurts. I had my period also and even took a pregnancy test so its nothing like that.
No, honey, being itchy all the time is NOT normal in pregnancy, at all. Itching *without* a rash, especially in the third trimester, should raise red flags for your doctor--but if he or she is like most OBs, then he/she hears about it from patients sometimes but has no explanation and so just reassures you. Have you noticed certain times of day when the itching is worse? Certain activities that seem to exacerbate it? Where do you itch the most?
I spoke with my doctor and it perfectly normal to have the itching and rash. It's called Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP). Although the creams wasn't working, she prescribe an oral medication for me. I started itching around 32 weeks for the first time and I am still itching at 34 weeks. The oral medication did stop me from itching on my stomach but now I am itching even more on my feet, arms, legs, and tighs.
Every night (only at night) for the past few nights I get an itchy rash on my wrists, behind my ears, and on the upper part of my stomach. The rash consists of tiny red bumps and a couple of the tiny bumps have a white "halo" around them. I am 39 weeks pregnant, and I thought that it was just a part of pregnancy, but my husband also has gotten these tiny red bumps but they are on his cheek and thigh.
With my first two pregnancies they told me it was pupps a pregnancy rash.. Well I've moved since then an my new Dr who works for the mayo health system said it wasnt pupps but a different type of pregnancy rash.. Its almost like hives.. The Dr has had me on steroids an then benadryl every 4 hours..

On Sunday, last week, I started noticing an itchy rash appearing. In just a couple days little tiny bumps have appeared and remained over my arms and legs and my back and stomach. When the rash began, I stopped the vitamins. I have noticed that during the day the itch is not as bad but at night the itch is worse and the bumps appear more read and full.
Hi i am 24 yrs old female. and in my last pregnancy in 2008, while i was pregnant in my upper stomach i got this spots they just appear out of nowhere they look just light brown if i scratch them, they turn white like if is dry skin but then, they become a little red and slight itchy. i first i though it was because of the stretching of the stomach and i was pregnat.
At my 30th week of pregnancy last November I broke out in horrific rash, and was told I had PUPPP, which is a pregnancy rash mainly consisting of ITCHY rash. I was sent to a dermo who diagnosed it and ended up steroidal creams, etc. Was told this would go away after I had my son. Well my son is 7 months old and while the itching is not as intense I still itch everyday and at times have what looks like hives with mesquito bite type marks and sometimes its the pimple looking rash.
I also have a rash that starts in my armpit and speads downwards. It started in my left arm and in now under my right arm. It is no where else on my body. The bumps look like chicken pox or little zits. Some of them are really big and itch and some are little and don't itch. I never had a cold or anything when they first arrived. What is it and what should I do about it?

You might have PUPPS - Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy. Ask your doctor. It's an extremely itchy rash that can occur during pregnancy. I had it, and I wanted to tape sandpaper to my hands and itch 24/7. It's awful and the only relief is delivering your baby.
Im 13 weeks. First pregnancy. So I woke up with a rash that comes and goes mostly all over my arms. But I have had it on my face and feet and legs as well. As soon as I woke up with it I went to my doctors office after speaking to a nurse who told me to come in asap. Unfortunately MY doctor wasn't in and I got stuck with a doctor I have never had. He talked to me for not even 5 mins.
I just don't want to have to do the test again because my body broke out in hives, rash and my lips swelled from the enzymes. But then again I have been having problems with these Dr. I have informed them that I have had persistent headache for 3 months and occasionally directly below my ribcage there is a lump that becomes inflammed. I also don't know if I should go tp th ER because of not being able to eat or keep it down for so long now.
Does anyone have advise and/or has anyone got a PUPP RASH so early in pregnancy? And if so, what helped with the itchiness and discomfort of it.
Pemphigoid Gestationis Or Herpes Gestationis This rash has nothing to do with the herpes virus. It occurs in 1 in every 10,000 to 50,000 pregnancies. The rash starts out near the belly button and spreads to the abdomen and extremities. It is recognized by the small, raised hives that quickly morph into blisters. The rash is linked to a greater risk of early delivery and fetal growth problems.
I've never gotten any kind of rash before pregnancy now I get em once in awhile. Put some cream on it and it cleared up in a couple days. Our bodies are weird!
