I know the pain of contractions feel like period pains but is it just at the bottom of your stomach like a period cramp or all over like the top as well. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and have been having weird pains all over my stomach area.
Don't worry I always hated when people told me that lol With my 1st they felt like really intense period cramps like the ones you have that make you bend over but even worse then that and with my 2 cnd it felt like my pelvis was being ripped apart. I would much prefer the cramping to the pain this time. But it could be totally different for you. Just watch for any continuous pain all over your front and back although I didn't really have any back pain. Hope this helps some.
I've had contractions (went into labour prematurely @ 26 weeks) but I'm a ftm so I haven't been in full blown labour but my contractions felt like pressure, like bub was pushing out but all over my stomach, and I was having bad period like cramps. But it may be different for everyone!
For the women that gave birth already what does contractions feel like? Some people say it hurts like bad menstrual cramps but I never had menstrual cramps. Is there something else to compare it to so I'm prepared?
What exactly do contractions feel like?? I keep having this weird pain that I've never had before but it's not constant they are pretty distant apart... Does it feel anything like gas??? PLEASE HELP!!
What do contractions feel like ? Everyone keeps telling me period cramps. But I don't get the whole timing them. Lol do you get a random cramp in your belly for 30,seconds then 20 min later get another one on the other side ? Or is it all at once ? Or it is just the bottom of your stomach?
I know this seems like a weird question, but this is my first pregnancy and I'm not sure what all my different aches and pains are. I am 25 weeks pregnant and sometimes I feel like my uterus wads up into a ball. This happens most often when I have intercourse and have an orgasm (I know TMI). You can visibly see a knot in my abdomen and I have to stay still and breathe deep for it to go away. At first I thought maybe it was the fetus wading up into a ball. Sometimes it hurts more than others.
Can anyone describe what contractions feel like? Im nervous for the day I get them, and want to know what they're like. Of course they're painful, but is it a tightening pain? Cramping?
Hey ladies, I'm 35 weeks with my first child, and I was wondering if any moms out there could tell me what contractions feel like. While I was loading the dishwasher today, I started to feel a sharp pain behind/to the left of my bellybutton. When I put my hand on my stomach it felt a lot harder than it usually does, but it only lasted for a few seconds. This happened three times for less than ten seconds within a ten minute period.
1) Round Ligament Pain 2) Stomach Skin Stretching Pain 3) Gas Cramps 4) Period Cramps 5) Braxton Hicks or other Non-Labor Contractions 6) Contractions for Labor 7) Other cramp-like pain things that I might not even have heard of! This might be a naive question, but I would really like to hear what you all have to say! Thanks!

Thus may sound really silly but I don't know what contractions feel like? I'm 38 weeks & would love someone to describe to me what they feel like!
and at first I thought the baby was just bundling himself up... but it sure doesn't feel like that anymore I been having really bad pains that come from my stomach to my back to my butt all at the same time and I timed them there probably at least 6-10 mins apart.. are they contraction should I go to the hospital??
Contractions feel like major menstrual cramps, which usually start with aching in the back and moving around to the front of your stomach. The pressure gets tighter and tighter and once it peaks, it starts to relax. If you have back labor (which happened to me during my first labor), you might only feel cramping and pains in your back and they never come around to the front.
The biggest difference for me from b/h and real labor was an awful mebstral like back pain that felt like horrible diarea cramps. I even had diarea so until I realized and timed the episodes, I didn't know at first it was labor. Good luck, hope this helps!
I have never had that....I haved delivered 2 babies vaginally. Real contractions are exactly like menstrual pains...to the most. I somehow during my first pregnancy thought labor pains would be my ENTIRE tummy....it is NOT. The contractions are down low, across the lower abdomen, and in the lower back...They feel like a really bad period. The sharp pains in your breasts might be milk glands preparing for their duties....Hope that I helped...how far along are you?
Can anyone please try to describe what contractions feel like? I felt some pains in my vagina last night that were kinda sharp just it wasn't constant. it was like one second it hurt the next it didn't then it did then it didn't.
just look out for cramping, and tightening, understandable it may be difficult to feel with twins as you've got two moving in different positions at different times, but your stomach may entirely become hard for a moment, then feel like it releases the tension on it's own. you might want to just keep an eye out on any aches and pains, and if it doesn't feel right or seems to keep coming routinely and you can time between them, then write it down to have a record of it.
Are contractions when your stomach gets super tight so tight that it hurts all over your belly? Im a ftm and im really Confused?
Now the sharp pain has moved lower down. This is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure what contractions feel like. Can someone please help me?
Can you feel contractions in your back????
Yeah I am just confused. I have been having painful "contractions" (I think?) but it just didn't feel like what I would expect. It felt more like pushing "out" instead of pushing "in" and so that is why I think maybe it was just baby pushing multiple places at once. And it wasn't always my WHOLE stomach...sometimes it would just be lower...but those were more typical of contractions as I have come to expect them. It was just an odd night to be honest last night.
I just wanted to add that you can have contractions that feel like they are in your lower back. I never had anything like period cramps with my two. It was always in my lower back. Just so you're aware it can be different.
hi kimberlee, that sounds simlar to when i had my 1st child i woke in the nite feelin i needed the loo and soon as i got off my bed i had a slight trickle, i still had a wee after that but i didnt have any painful contractions or nethin so i went n got bk into bed, buut then after like 15 mins to 30 min i started gettin what felt like period pains they didnt really hurt.
They said drinks lots of water and stay off my feet. Drinking the water made the back pains completely stop. B/H contractions should only be in the tummy and usually not on both sides at the same time. Hope this helps.
