Within an hour of eating, I get very bad gas pains in my stomach. It doesn't matter what type of food it is. Is this a normal HEP C symptom? This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/630136'>HepC and gastro trouble</a>.

At first the docs said she was quite constipated, as when examined her stomach was quite hard, she was put on different laxatives (because despite going back to the docs several times she was still experiencing bad stomach pains), often waking at nite. After a few weeks and several laxatives later (lactulose, suppositries, movicol) and stomach remedies ( senna, gaviscon) she is still experiencing pain.

Giving him Maalox is putting a bandaid on the problem, and you want to know what the probblem is. My son had one at 12, it devestated me because I thought an ulcer at 12! But they said it is fairly common. I think he needs to have an endoscopy so they can look inside and view his stomach and find out exactly what is going on.

Any idea why i will get bad stomach pain (stabbing) after eating. And then i will feel the need to make a bowel movement. I also used to be able to put my laptop (it's not very heavy. it's a macbook pro), but now it's too painful to bear and weight on my stomach. Any ideas?

My 6 year old daughter has been complaining of stomach pains after eating certain foods for about 12 months or so (not long after we moved to the USA from Australia). The only common thread in the offending foods seems to be processed sugar (it started with ice-cream, which she won't eat anymore due to the pain, but now it's candy or anything else that is high in processed sugar). Tonight she had two Swedish Fish candies and, almost immediately, the stomach pain started.

My fiance has been dealing with sharp pains in his his stomach after he eats every time he eats. He will also get the pains during the day at work out of the blue. He has also been having a swollen feeling under his bottom left rib. He had a colonoscopy and everything came back normal. No crohns, colon cancer or collitis. I just finished my two years of tamoxifen and start my arimidex this week. I recently developed severe stomach pains with cramps, diarrhea and what feels like acid indigestion that has lasted for almost a week. Everything I swallow with the exception of water, makes me hurt terribly. We were in Costa Rica when it started so my G.P. thinks it's either a parasite or a staff infection. I wondered if it could be from my chemo and radiation treatments.

Since yesterday I have had very uncomfortable pains in my stomach, sometimes when I move into a different position I get shooting pains in my belly and if a certain amount of pressure is put in my belly it hurts, I haven't had any bleeding but still worried and unsure what it could be. Kapalbhati pranayam -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Drink lots of water n maybe try eating crackers that might help.

From the age of 11, I have been getting severe stomach pains just under the ribs which last for one to two hours. The pains have never been predictalble and I have no idea what sets them off. I am 23 now and I'm getting sick and tired of the problem. The pain is on the left one time and the right at other times. The only thing I can link to it is sometimes if I skip a meal I'll get hungry and then straight afterwards it hits.

In the meantime, try and take note of when you are getting these pains (after eating, before eating, in the mornings/afternoon, during your period, after your period, etc.) Bring this info with you when you see your doctor as it can help him or her rule out possible causes. I was shopping in the grocery store when I started feeling stomach pains in my upper middle stomach. I felt light-headed also & hot. I quickly got done/headed home. Now I am having stomach pains that come like waves & middle of chest also (spasms). Last time this happened, I ended up in ER with pain meds & it was the gerd as I had not been taking the prilosec every day to save on pills. Well this time, I haven't been skimping, so am concerned.

For a while now I have still been having stomach pains. They are right below my rib cage or even farther up. It feels like stinging and wakes me up now at night sometimes. It usually gets worse when I haven't eaten like I should. Also, I have been having sweats even though no one else in the room is hot. It is like dripping sweat. I have gained weight so I'm 5'8" and 120 and trying to get to 125. I eat every three hours.

I had my gallbladder removed in 1/18/2009 date now is 5/06/2009 3wks after removed I started having I call them attacks in my stomach upper stomach burning cramping I cant talk or move it hurts so bad. Gastro Dr put me on Hyomax, and some other elavil medicine. Why is this happening I never had this problem until my gallbladder was taken out? After these attacks I feel nausious, very sleepy, dizzy shooting pains all over my body all day, takes me awhile like a week to bounce back.

For the past year i have had this pain in the upper part of my stomach, mostly after i eat. Sometimes the pain comes and i eat something, and it goes away. Other times i have no pain, and after eating, i get the pain. This morning i had a coffee and a bagel, and had no pain. Half hour later i get the pain along with mid back pain. I have had both pains now almost all day and nothing helps. I have tried eating, and nothing makes it go away. Does anyone know what this could be?
