Is the pain just concentrated in your stomach, or have you noticed any pains in your right shoulder? Does the pain start after you have eaten a fatty or greasy food? Are you feeling nauseous, dizzy, bloated, or have headaches that seem to be concentrated behind your right eye? I'm asking all of this because about a year ago, I woke up in the middle of the night with stabbing pains in my right side and my right shoulder, so bad that I passed out 7 times within an hour. I went to the E.R.
Burning in upper stomach is usually due to acidity, GERD or reflux disease or hiatal hernia. If there is pain in right shoulder and gall bladder has been removed, it means that the right diaphragm is being irritated. Heavy meals or acidity that cause distension of the duodenum or any cause for distension of the small intestine can cause referred pain to shoulder. In your case it could be acidity. Generally diaphragmatic irritation can lead to frequent hiccups or even burps.

The problem i am having is the pain is getting worse and worse, this evenign it is really painful my stomach is very bloated and the pain is all through my stomach and back i feel sick but havent been sick yet. Im unsure what to do should i go to the emergency doctors surgery? can anyone give some adivse/tips on easing the pain as pain killers arent working.
Pain in this area always alerts a physician to first check the Gallbladder. The Gallbladder also refers pain to the right shoulder. If the shoulder and jaw pain was on the LEFT side of the body, the heart and cardiovascular system should be evaluated and clinical correlation is required. Other less likely considerations would be accute myocardial infarction, gas, indigestion, intercostal neuritis, and diverticulitis.
you dont say where the pain is located in the upper abdomen is it on the irght as Gall Bladder Attack is very painful and is located on the right under the rib cage and radiates up to the shoulder and even into the Back. There seems to have been a lot recantly I have noticed I had this about 3 weeks ago it was severe but now is almost gone, I have wondered if there was a virus out there .See a Doc if it continues, or try not eatinf Fatty food go to Low Fat, as eating seems to trigger the pain.
So could this pain be originating in the shoulder and what are you experiencing is referred pain? Referred pain means the source of the pain is in a different location than were the pain is being felt. I know it sounds crazy but it is not uncommon.
The obvious suggesting is to tell you not to lay on your stomach. And I would avoid that position until you are able to have a diagnostic work up. Rest the area as much as possible.
The areas are very tender to touch and make my back hurt something awful. Sometimes the pain goes right up under my shoulder blades. I was diagnosed with IBS and just started recently taking meds for it. That sounds alot like your troubles I would take to your doctor about it. Hope this helps you some.
Where is the pain if its on the right radiating up to the shoulder and into the back it may be a gall bladder attack, the pain is usually severe ..Food especially fatty food will irritate it, A visit to have out checked out would be a good idea .If the pain is lower right it may be appendecitis again get it checked out ..
After first experiencing the pain for several days, i woke in the night with extreme burning pain. My stomach felt tight and full. No position could ease the pain. I eventually vomited a bile like substance and had a low temp of 100. My doctor said I should go to the ER . They did a CT scan and found that I had a partial small bowel obstruction. At this point the pain moved to the center of my stomach, around my belly button. The pain was severe contracting pains.
I have had right shoulder pain for a year and a half. the pain now radiates down my upper arm. I can not lift my arm above my head or out to the side. Rasing my arm out front of my body is ok unless my hand faces up. Night time is hard to sleep and i wake up when i move because i jolt my shoulder. I have had a dull/burning pain in my right shoulder for almost 3 years now. I woke one morning and felt like I had pulled a muscle. But after a few days the pain never went away. I went to the Chiropractor , he said I had a mis-alined rib, but the adjustment did not help. A week later I went to a regular MD, he said you have just pulled a muscle and put me on a bunch of medication. None of which helped.
I had a car crash 3 years ago and have been in pain since. I have pain next to my right shoulder near my spine which then radiates down my hand. I am not certain if 8 year old is too young to have gall bladder problems but others here may know, it can be severe, ask his doctor if this is possible ,does he get any pain moving from under his ribs on the right into his shoulder and back ?Food can irriate it.... just in case , dont give him food later in the evening, low fat diet is best.. There are other expert/Doctor forums here on MH you may want to ask there also.
I have been given numerous reasons from stomach pain to muscle pain to nerve pain. I have been told anything definitive by a doctor or anything, though.
If you have pains in your chest and left side you should go to the ER and get checked out or see a doctor as that is one of the symptoms of heart trouble.
I have over the six years i have suffered stomach pain but recently it has become worse. it is in my chest and between my shoulder blades; it radiates up into my knock and Jaw. I went to A & E at the weekend as the pain was so bad, they checked out my heart, kidneys, liver and pancreas; they all came back clear.
I've been having severe shoulder pain. It goes down my left shoulder blade and down to the left side of my breast. I'm 14wks and 4 days and trying to get used to my new sleeping habits since it hurts my ribs if I lay on my stomach. When I arrived at home, I was still in a lot of pain and had fevers and headaches also. I also started to experience a dull, severe pain in my right shoulder. This pain reminded me of a pain I used to experience for seconds at a time, years ago when I would run for miles and drink tons of water, however MUCH WORSE. About two days later the pain in my stomach started to go away, however it is now a week later and I still have constant headaches and an intense pain in my right shoulder.
also sometimes when i breath heavy or take a deep breath..the pain is anywhere from right below my rib cage to the shoulder blade on my left side back!! Im only 17 and i had went to the dr and i had UTI took all my meds but im still having the problem..I sleep only on my left side so i thought it could be sleeping on it wrong..or just the anxiety that i suffer from..or maybe nerves considering i have been under alot of stress..
I just want answers so i can ease my mindd.
