For the past few months I have woken up to a dull pain in the center of my upper abdomen which would subside after about ten minutes of me getting out of bed for the past couple of weeks the pain is there almost continuous my upper abdomen is swollen my stomach makes loud rumbling noises that goes up in to the left side of my chest area I get sharp pain between my shoulder blades and under my right shoulder blade I also have rib pain directly under both breasts which is a sharp pain when touched
In the past few weeks I've been experiencing pain in my upper abdomen that is more intense when I'm sitting. It's also uncomfortable to sleep on my side, I have to make sure to sleep on my back during the night. I'm a healthy 31 yr. old women who had surgery a couple of months ago to remove a cyst from a ovary. Could this be a side effect from the surgery that was months ago?
I would further investigate the stomach and upper digestive tract, which can result in left upper abdominal pain. This can be done with an upper endoscopy, which can exclude GERD, inflammation or an ulcer. REFLUX. WOULD THAT STAY IN ONE SPOT FOR 2 MONTHS? INFLAMMATION? WOULD THE ANTIBIOTIC TAKE CARE OF IT? WOULD IT BE IN ONE SPOT FOR 2 MONTHS? ULCER? WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THAT?
If negative, a colonoscopy can be performed to look for lower GI causes. WHAT COULD WE FIND IN A COLONSCOPY?
Today I’ve been experiencing a stabbing-like pain, only occasionally and usually instant, in my upper left abdomen about an inch or so down from my rib cage. This pain seems like it goes straight through me or around my side sometimes and too my back when it happens. I’ve felt somewhat of a dull ache in this spot for a while but just today, it’s started turning into stabbing like sensations. Any idea what this could be?
I have been having pain under my left rib cage and in the middle of my chest, where my sternum is. Dr prescribed Aciphex about 2 weeks ago. I haven't felt relief yet. It doesn't get better or worse with food. Had an Upper GI & Small Bowel series done on Thursday, all clear. After the barium test, I had severe pain in RLQ, thinking appendicitis but the pain didn't stay. Could it have been an allergic reaction to the barium?

you dont say where the pain is located in the upper abdomen is it on the irght as Gall Bladder Attack is very painful and is located on the right under the rib cage and radiates up to the shoulder and even into the Back. There seems to have been a lot recantly I have noticed I had this about 3 weeks ago it was severe but now is almost gone, I have wondered if there was a virus out there .See a Doc if it continues, or try not eatinf Fatty food go to Low Fat, as eating seems to trigger the pain.
About a year ago I had a pop in my upper left abdomen with sharp pain, stomach swelled and it was hard to breathe. Pain still comes & goes from time to time as does the stomach swelling. Today while attempting to lay back in bath tub I had a painful pop again, in same area and now it is hard to breath again and I am experiencing constant pain. What is wrong with me????

I have had stomach pain just under my ribs on my right side now for several months. The pain has been off and on. I will have it several times a day everyday, then some days I won't have it at all (there has been a few weeks that I haven't had any pain also) I have now been getting the same type of pain (dull, burning) on the left side just below my ribs. And now lately I have had a lot of bloating (gas pain) in my lower abdomen. Could this be symptoms of an ulcer (or ulcers)?
I've had the same pain for weeks now and was worried about it. The only way to ease it is lay on my right side. My doctor said it cld be my gallbladder. Check to see if there is any foods that triggers it. If not he said it cld just be how the baby is positioned. But if it is ur gall bladder they can't so anything till baby is out. So ease it the best u can. BTW its not ur belly stretching.
I also get a sharp pain that radiates from the center of my stomach to the center of my chest and over to the right side of my chest. They tell me they can not figure out what is causing it. I keep hoping I can figure it out because the problem controls a lot of what I do during the day. Hope you find an answer to your problem. If I ever figure out my problem I will let you know.
Mine is very painful! I only feel better when I lay down in bed, and when I exercize at the swimming pool. I'm 28 weeks and I've been suffering for 2 months.The stretching always starts below my brest over the stomach at the center, it's not painful at the beginning but if I don't lay down it moves to the left of my stomach and it gets more and more painful, it often extends to my back!
Hi, I am female and 17 years old. For the last few years I have had pain in the upper abdomen/ directly between and below my ribcage. The pain usually lasts at least a half an hour, sometimes longer, and I have problems breathing deeply. When I push between my lower ribs/ upper abdomen it is painful. It also occurs when I have been laying on my stomach for a little while, and I have to roll over because of the pain.
What could cause this?
