Avatar m tn I would like to welcome you the Pain Management forum. As you already know we are a community of chronic pain patients. I wish there were a doctor at least monitoring this forum but there is not. But we do offer support, advice and friendship to other chronic pain patients. I am so sorry to hear of your plight. It must be awful. Have you consulted a gastrointestinal doctor? If not, I would recommend you do. I wish I had some advice for you but I really don't.
Avatar m tn i have had this shooting pain in my stomach for about three weeks. i can't seem to find out what it may be. it's so bad i double over in the floor. i was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. it's not just in one spot it's all over my stomach. thanks.
Avatar m tn t comment about the stomach pain, but the sweating shortly after a bowel movement is most likely due to cardiac ischemia - that is the heart is not getting enough oxygen. The reasons are complex, however lack of oxygen to the heart often results in sudden cold sweats, particularly on the forehead. These come on rapidly. The reason for this is stimulation of the vagus nerve, which runs near the anal sphincter, which drops the heart rate. Many patients die on the toilet because of this.
Avatar m tn I have been sick for 7 weeks with pain in my chest and in my stomach the DR. told me that I have IBS. and GERD . I spent 3 days in the hospital and still no answer on why I get the pain in the middle of my chest. I had every test out there and my heart is ok. could IBS. and GERD 'cause all this discomfort. the meds they gave me are not helping..
Avatar f tn In part that is due to the multiple organs in our abdominal and pelvic cavity. Pain can be referred, meaning originating in one location and felt in another. Diagnosing can be puzzling, long and elusive. Hang in there for your daughter and try to be optimistic though I know how very difficult that can be. Is your daughter being treated at a large teaching hospital?
Avatar n tn why do i get nightsweats, headaches, stomach pain and bloating after eating anything, heartburn...
Avatar n tn my 4yr old daughter has very bad stomach pain all she wants to do is be cuddle in a ball she is also itching all over she is saying her back is hurting!
Avatar f tn In some patients, however, the pain may be sharp or pressure-like, rather than burning. Such pain can mimic heart pain (angina). In other patients, the pain may extend to the back. Since acid reflux is more common after meals, heartburn is more common after meals. Heartburn is also more common when individuals lie down because without the effects of gravity, reflux occurs more easily, and acid is returned to the stomach more slowly. Many patients with GERD are awakened from sleep by heartburn.
Avatar m tn How many years can a patient live with 10-15% heart function? How to handle such patients in terms of exrercise, medication, daily routine, etc.
Avatar f tn I, also, used to experience this same pain after just one drink of alcohol. But that was before I was diagnosed with a paraesphogial hernia. My stomach was completely jammed behind my heart, giving me terrible symptoms like stokes and heart attacks. After healing from my surgery, I tried alcohol once again, and to my surprise I didn't experience the pain. I can't say what's causing your pain down the arm, but this is what happened to me. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn It manifests itself as a very intense, sharp pain, typically at the left side of the chest, which is worse when taking breaths. Patients often think that they are having a heart attack which causes them to panic. This pain typically lasts from 30 seconds to a few minutes. Though some episodes last just a few breaths, in rare cases they can persist for up to 30 minutes. In most cases the pain is resolved quickly and completely. The cause of PCS is unknown.
Avatar n tn What sets Lyme patients apart is the severity of symptoms and the degree of functional impairment. Patients report pain at the severity of post-operative patients, fatigue at the level of patients with multiple sclerosis, and functional impairment comparable to those with congestive heart failure.
Avatar m tn Stomach pains are often a misdiagnosis among patients for chest pain. The two can feel very similar indeed. I've had pains from heart attacks and reflux and the two can feel the same, so much so that I've gone to hospital believing I'm having heart attack when my heart was fine.
Avatar f tn For the benefit of our Forum, I request your good selves to please give detailed pain symptoms which are related to heart and pain symptoms which are not related to heart. It will be of great help to the forum and they can avoid unnecessary panic and fear about their heart working condition.
304970 tn?1331425994 Maybe with your growing uterus, some organ inside your abdomen got shoved up in a weird position and is causing some pain. Who knows ...maybe you even popped a rib! Sometimes Dr's are just looking for the quick and easy answers. But you have to keep pushing them when option A doesn't work ...then they go to option B and that doesn't work either ...until they find the option that is correct.

Avatar f tn Within 6 weeks after surgery, started with terrible stomach pain, lost weight, became anemic, hospitalized. All GI tests came back normal...no cause for pain found, assured by all docs it was not b/c of thyroid. Afer going on synthroid pain went away within 48 hrs. Now pain is back...going to hematologist for anemia, endocrin assures that pain has nothing to do with thyroid, after running another gamut of tests, even Gi doc says he thinks there's a connection. What do you think...

Avatar f tn Always in pain. Mostly at night. My cervix feels sore/achy. I don't know how to describe it and I don't know what it is. I plan to ask my doctor when I see him again I'm worried that I'm starting to dilate, I hope not.
Avatar f tn Though you are not convinced, hiatal hernia and GERD can cause dizziness, pain and tingling between shoulder blades, feeling of heart pounding, and sharp pain in left side of chest. Dizziness (lightheadedness) could be due to acid reflux. The reverse flow of contents of the stomach cause a series of neurochemical transmissions, which cause dizziness. It is also related to changing pressure in the cochlear canals of the ear during this process.
