Cramping in early pregnancy is very common. Later it turns into a different kind of pain that is called round ligament pain. Prenatal vitamins are notorious for constipation. Be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and eat plenty of fruits and veggies.
Well, its official... I am 13 weeks today and happily leaving the 1st trimester! I will be seeing my OB every 2 weeks for the next couple appointments to make sure I get through the beginning of this trimester ok. Since I miscarried at 15 weeks, I think that they want to reassure me that things are going to be ok during this time. My due date is still March 1st based on the measurements of the baby. Well, I hope that you all will be joining me soon!!
My stomach has been feeling sore (muscle wise -- like after an ab workout) I normally like to do bridges (lay on back then raise self up so only feel and hands are on the floor, stomach is in air) to relieve this type of pain, is it okay to do this during the first trimester?
I've had to be on pain medicine on and off during my first pregnancy, and my current pregnancy, and I was on it continually during my 2nd pregnancy. I'm due any day with this pregnancy and everything is fantastic. My 3.5 y/o daughter and 20-month-old son are both PERFECT. neither were born dependent..they had no withdrawals, no delays, no breathing or eating issues...
) but those 5 months I got chronic lower back pain during my periods. No pain during pregnancy with him. After I had him, I went back on the pill for about a year and then what do you know, came off it to try for a second baby and the pain came back. MAJORLY. Finally saw a gynaecologist who said he thinks I have Endo and that either the pill, pregnancy or laparoscopic surgery will reduce it. That was 6 months ago. I also miscarried before I saw that doctor at 4.5weeks too.
My kids all had it at the same time and just had the rash. I didn't have a rash. I never had stomach pain. My sisters kids had it also and she was 8 weeks pregnant. She never got it and everything is fine with her pregnancy. I think once you have it you are immune to it. They say it is pretty rare for adults to get it since you probably had it as a child. Even if by chance you get it, it still doesn't mean you will miscarry.
the baby is probably dropping and putting pressure on your stomach so you are not as hungry. during my pg, I actually lost a pound or two many times in my last trimester. The doctor said it was ok, that the baby was gaining and I was losing. That was good for me. I was 4 lbs less than when I started after I delivered dd!!
well they gave me tylenol #3 (tylenol with codeine) for my migraines during the first trimester with this pregnancy, and it's what I took off and on during my whole pregnancy for headaches when I was pregnant with my daughter....but with this pregnancy I couldn't take them for long because the codeine started making me vomit like crazy because it's tough on your stomach so they switched me to a low dose of lortab. basically it's like Clysta said.
I just found out there is something called Decidual Bleeding during the first trimester of pregnancy you can read more about it at http://www.pregnancy-info.net/comp_periods_pregnancy.html If your bleeding is exreamly heavy or has lasted for more than two days and you are pregnant you should go to the dr. and get checked out.
Everyone feels better when they know the reason why. The sight of blood is very unnerving during a pregnancy, and I think they should be more accomadating in figuring out the reasons WHY it happened.
the doctors say it is easy to have an erosion on the cervix that can bleed a little during pregnancy. unless you are in awful pain and bleeding heavy you are ok. my sister had a rush of heavy bleading and lost some big clots at 10 weeks. katelin is now 10 yrs old. dont fret about it its all normal. people can have periods all through there pregnancys. after having an early miscarrage, let me tell you...
I would say it was normal. I got stomach and side cramps a lot during the first trimester with both my pregnancies, and also with this pregnancy. Congratulations. I just found out as well. Stay strong, but if it does get worse or you start bleeding a visit to the emergency room couldn't hurt. I wish you and your baby the best.
I read that overall in the pregnnacy is better to gain few pounds in the first trimester bc the last trimesters are killer and is when you really hate steppping on the scale. Anyways, I think we all girls are beautiful and our babies are doing great. I have a doc app. this afternoon so I will let you know what did it go later. Also I am going to get couple more belly pics as soon as I get my 20 weeks u/s. Love to all.
I am 10 weeks pregnant and have bad gas pain too. I found during my first pregnancy that drinking some strong hot tea can help you to pass some of that excess gas. Hope it works for you!
But Kim is right on, it sounds to me like it could be round ligament pain. It's very normal during pregnancy. You have to remember how much your body is stretching and adjusting. Your uterus is always expanding so you will get all types of aches and pains throughout your pregnancy.
I really hope it's related to the implantation, but I've heard of so many pregnant women spotting at various times during their pregnancy and everything being just fine. Since you are probably close to 2 weeks ahead of me I don't know if we'd be spotting for the same reason right now, but I am certain it concerns you as much as it concerns me regardless of how much we're told that a little spotting is totally normal. I'll keep you in my prayers too.
Hi Thanks you two for the replys - 1st Annie - When I talk about her episodes she deals with pain all the time but at times the pain is so severe she can't get up out of bed on her own she has to be lifted out - early am is bad and from mid afternoon to bedtime at times can be real bad - she then wont eat and needs to lay down ....
I started with right ovary pain 1 day after I found out was pregnant. Went in because I had an etopic pregnancy last year and feared it was going to happen again. I had an vaginal ultrasound and the sac was found in the uterus. The pain went away for a couple of days and comes and goes now, but I started bleeding. I have not been put on pelvic rest my doctor stated that about 10-15% of these cases end in a misscarriage. I started seeing small blood clots the size of a pencil eraser.
No one should stop taking pain meds without talking to their OB/GYN first. I took pain meds (small amount) during pregnancy.
I have had a pretty good pregnancy so far, i was rarely sick 1st or 2nd trimester...never threw up, except when i caught the stomach bug Halloween weekend and Christmas weekend. However, 3rd trimester by far has been the tougest for me. Ive never been sick so many times! Now i am sick to the point where im getting dizzy and it feels like im going to faint.
anyone familiar or heard, know, experienced taking subutex while pregnant? i am now on 1mg per day and there is limited studies. please help.
-) The 1st trimester is the most important in the forming of your baby, so you need to relax and worry about eating the right foods and such. When you feel the time is right, then tell her. Maybe she WILL be more understanding. You never know. Especially if you don't go into her office with a "flaunting" attitude, but one of pure worry. Let her know how scared you are about being pregnant (just as I'm sure she would feel).
) In fact normal pregnancies often get an u/s the 1st trimester and again around 20 weeks to check for structures- that's it.
I'm just about 15 weeks and this is the only pregnancy that I've actually vomited during. With my son it was hideous acid reflux type feeling, but no nausea and with my daughter, it was nausea afternoons and super tired. This one....I feel great for a day or 2 then hang over the sink for an hour then feel great again and by about 2pm I can hardly keep my eyes open but then lie awake half the night. For about the last 3 weeks it's been horrid constant headaches.
Well it is here at last, the 3rd trimester! Is anyone having trouble sleeping? My little one is waking me at about 5 in the morning and I don't go back to sleep until hours later, if I can. Heartburn is at a constant too. Seems like just about everything I eat gives me heartburn. If I am cleaning and stay hunkered over for too long I feel acid coming up.
my sister has colitis and she has been on birth control for a while now, her method is getting a shot by a doctor every month. Recently she was having stomach pain and her stomach was bloated. She thought it was her colitis. She went to the doctor because she couldnt stand the pain that she had. When they preformed a sonogram she found out that she was 8 weeks pregnant. If anyone knows anything bout how harmful it is going to be to the baby please leave a comment.
