625302 tn?1255485995 about 2 weeks ago I noticed a lump the size of a golf ball on my upper stomach between my ribs, I went for a catscan, it is a 3cc mid line hernia, I never had a hernia in my life, by the way I am 48. My surgeon did lipo, and sewed my muscles together and did say he cut a bit more skin so I would be in more pain then normal, and he did a new procedure sewing the flap to the muscle.(?), he did not acknowledge the hernia, he said he see's nothing. Now I face another surgery with this hernia.
Avatar m tn Within an hour after my auto accident I was diagnosed by CT that I had a hernia in my upper stomach where my surgery (cabg) was 5 months prior. No pain or bulge prior to accident. Is this a result of surgery, the accident or both. I don’t understand how a car accident can cause a hernia.
1338953 tn?1276126156 My question would also be, wear you diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia? I have also have a hiatal hernia. Surgery was recommended for my very severe GERD and to correct the hernia. However because surgery may place me in a life threatening situation I have close to mange it with diet and medications. Please tell us about your diagnosis. Have you seen a gastroenterologist or a Gastro-surgeon?
Avatar f tn Hi , I had a hiatus hernia ( sliding) and am in recovery (4th month) after key hole surgery for repair to the hernia. I had the hiatus hernia for the 10 years and suffered all of your mentioned symptoms. It got to the point where I was getting hard stomach pains ( felt like I was punched in the stomach) and felt like I wanted to vomit. I took over my life and I was afraid of eating so many foods.
Avatar n tn Hello, my husband had part of his colon removed about 8 years ago due to diverticulitis. He had a colostomy bag for about a year after the surgery. After his second surgery to remove the colostomy, the left side of his stomach is rounder and bigger than the right side. He doesn't have any discomfot and his bowel movements are normal, but as I see the left side of his stonach getting larger, I am getting more and more concerned.
849683 tn?1239013686 It is possible that post surgery or may be it was there from before, you developed a hiatal hernia. This results in stomach herniating into chest cavity which can cause this pain once the food distends the stomach. Another possibility is an abscess or hematoma post surgery that causes irritation to the diaphragm when a distended stomach pushes it close to it. It could also be a leaking peptic ulcer. Do go back to your surgeon. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I had a large hematoma right after surgery and the tenderness and pain took several weeks before they went away.... anyways, sometimes i feel a similar symptom to when I was having gallbladder attacks... the attacks happened in the middle of my abdomen where my stomach is... as a matter of fact when I first began going to the docs about the pain in my third trimester they just told me to take pepcid. This is not a burning sensation.. it's just umcomfortable....
Avatar n tn Anyway my question is has anyone had a surgery other than the nissen fundo to repair the hernia. I am interested in having mine fixed but do NOT want my stomach wrapped around my esophagus. I'd like for a surgeon to just go in and pull the stomach to its proper position and sew up the hole in the diaphram essentially returning everything to its natural order.
Avatar f tn I just had a hernia repair 4 days ago. The incision is great and there is hardly any pain, but 2 days after surgery I am experiencing constant stomach pain, it doesn't go away. It feels like hunger pangs. I never experienced this before in my life, so I am pointing the finger at something with the surgery. I don't know what, but either the anesthetic or something that I am not aware of with the surgery. Does anyone have any answers?
Avatar m tn I continued to vomit up till the day of my surgery. After this type of surgery you can NO LONGER vomit....ever. Hoped it was the problem and fixed, several weeks after my surgery I began to have the most unbearable paid in my stomach and have figured out that it is my body wanting to throw up and I can't. I have severe nausia after ANYTHING goes into my belly and then the pain begins. I have lost over 40 pounds in a year. I cannot afford to loose another pound 5'6 and 108 lbs.
Avatar f tn Has anyone gotten the bubbly gurgling feeling in their stomach after eating or drinking anything? I'm wondering what is causing this. I already have plans to have my gb removed due to stones, but I am asking because the surgeon and other docs feel there is something more going on, as my labs and symptoms/location of pain seem to indicate. Pancreas is likely involved and I do have a hiatal hernia. White blood cells & pancreatic enzymes are elevated.
Avatar n tn So the heart doctor thinks that the chest pain is caused from the hital hernia and the acid reflux and thinks that having the chest pain as bad as I have it that surgery is needed for the hernia. I need some advice on this can anyone help me.

Avatar n tn It has been almost a year since my gallbladder surgery. Prior to the surgery I had pain that did not fit neatly into the diagnosis of a gallbladder problem. My ultrasound did show one small stone, however the pain did not come and go. I had the surgery, then continued to get worse! It has been a year now. I have had an upper and lower GI. Upper showed that I have upper Hiatus hernia, lower showed that I was completely healthy and normal.

Avatar f tn I had some pain after hernia surgery. After the post op exam I went home thinking everything was normal. When my husband and I had intercourse for the first time I thought I was going to die. Went to urgent care, they sent me to the ER of the hospital where I had the surgery. Met a nurse there that said she has a hernia and has had it for 20 years and won't get it fixed, I asked her where the hell she was before I had my surgery.
Avatar n tn In 2009 March I have undergone an open surgery for Hernia. After that I have not done any exercise and fat is deposited in my midriff and stomach. Please advise whether I can use Sauna Belt with vibrator for reducing the stomach and fat deposited around midriff.
Avatar f tn My surgeon tells me he will insert a tube throught the stomach to hold it in place after my hiatal hernia surgery. Is this normal and how will it be removed? He said it would stay in about 2 wks. He also said it would not be a feeding tube, just something to hold the stomach in place. Anyone ever had this done?
Avatar f tn I intend on seeing a doctor today for pain in my upper stomach/ chest area and for esophagus discomfort. I initially thought I had pulled muscles in that area. I started hatha yoga at least 2 months ago and there is a posture that is done called the 'bundhas'. Its where you have exhaled all breath and then pull in and lift the stomach muscles, lifting the diaphragm and them pulling the chest muscles in also, holding for some seconds and then releasing the breath.
Avatar m tn just watch,,i know you mentioned its small, but if you ever experience prolonged pressure,or pain in any way, have it checked quickly,as you could get what they call a strangulated hernia, where the stomach actualy gets up in the hernia, and gets stuck, and pinched in there, and this can cause that part of the stomach to loose blood and get infection, and cause all kinds of problems to you,,,very serious illness can result.
Avatar f tn The only reason I had the surgery was to repair a very large hiatal hernia; my stomach had slipped up into my chest and I was having chest pain when I ate. I am wondering which is worse at this point.
