t aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble. The way the colon is shaped and with the gas rising upward, when laying on the right side it gets trapped in the ascending and transverse sections of the colon and is not as easily expelled as it is when laying on the left side. I recommend trying some OTC treatments like beano, gas X, prilosec, prevacid, Mylanta, mylox etc. for a few days.

In UK gas and air is used as a form of pain relief.. but on here the other day I saw someone from the USA ask what that was.. do you guys get offered it in the country your in? Its all im planning on using! (Hopefully haha ftm here!) Just being curious :) Have a good evening mummas!

This is a funny question but it is something that is painful. I've had horrible, horrible gas pain for the last three days. I've tried gas-x but it hasn't helped. I waited too long to eat the other day and gobbled up a bag of popcorn. That's when the pain started. Even ginger tea hasn't helped. I drank some root beer and it helped some but it has artificial sweetener so i don't want to drink a lot of it. Help, I'm starting to worry.

I am a 25 yr old female and I have almost constant stomach discomfort which makes me have to pass gas because its the only way to get any relief. Its bad all the time but even worse at night when I'm lying down. I've tried eating yogurt every day and taking Metamucil, I've also tried gas-x and all that but it hasn't done a thing. Im 36 weeks and get extreem stomach pains at night. Its really hard cramps.and emptying my bladder doesnt work. Turning on my side makes it worst and laying on my back is crippling. Helpppp dr.can never see me. First baby too..help?

Merry Christmas all! I'm having a bit if a nightmare...could be down to self indulgence and over eating yesterday- although I don't actually think I ate more than usual, but I am suffering with stomach pain. It's like a constant pain around the whole stomach. I think it may be trapped wind and have tried yoga positions, hot water and hot water bottle but no joy! I'm trying to stop myself from overthinking that something could be wrong. Any advice? I'm 21 weeks pregnant.

I am getting up one or two nights a week with high pain on top of my stomach right under my rib cage. I move and have a lot of gas. I begin belching and as I continue to move I will finally get relief. I thought this was a reflux problem but priolesec doesn't seem like it is giving me relief. Any suggestions?

ve been down the EXACT road as your husband. I would wake up in the middle of the night with SEVERE stomach pain, lower abdomin swelling, gas, bloating...hurting really bad. I've made 5 trips to the ER in the past year and have had every test known to man run on me...each one of them came back normal. It is possible that your husband has developed lactose intollerance or gluten intollerance..at least the symptoms you describe lead me to think this.

sometime i get gas buildup in my stomach that is very painful and it very hard for me to pass the gas that is rubbling threw my stomach it take hours before i can release gas gas-x want relief or make me pass gas and the pain in the upper middle of my stomach be hurting severe. Is there anything or home remedy that i can use?

I tried IV meds first and they gave me no pain relief at all. The epidural was by far the best pain relief.

Hi I was wondering if anyone would know what would be causing this stomach pain Im having it is right above my vaginal area and below my belly button its a horrible throbing pain. and it will not go away There is no possibilty of pregnancy and I have had 2 bowel movements (sorry tmi) today so its not that either so what else can be causing this stomach pain?

I believe it is related to gas, because once I release gas, the pain goes away. During the day, there is no pain or any awareness, but at night, while lying down, I can hardly get any rest and bothers me all night.

Hi Mamas! I just can't make my mind up about what pain relief method to go for in labour. What methods did you go for and what was your experience? Epidural, gas, injection,...would you choose the same method again? Why/ why not? Thank you!

I went to the doctor two weeks ago and she put me on bentyl for IBS, no relief. I see this same doctor tomorrow May 6th, 2008. I have pain when I eat, before and after. Can't hardly sit upright. i have slight pain in the lower left abdomen which radiates to the left testicle, which gives intense pain. I am experiencing severe stomach pain like someone is sticking a knife into my stomach. I get really gassy and have heartburn or my chest hurts. If you are unable to pass gas, or your stomach is distended right below your rib cage you could have a blockage? I have had a lot of stomach problems through out my life. So, I feel your pain. I had to have a partial colon resection from years of severe constipation, my colon expanded and twisted and I was miserable. I hope this helps and you feel better soon...
