Common Questions and Answers about Stomach gas gurgling

gas

I have constant gurgling and bubbling in my stomach. It gets worse when i lay down, i can feel the bubbles or air in my stomach and it sounds like watery and air moving around in my stomach. then if ive been laying down or sleeping for a while, when i first get up, the gurgling acts up. The gurgling subsides a bit when i sit normally but i can never just lay down and relax when my stomach is acting up when i do lay down. Any suggestions?

I have had horrible gas today. I don't know whats up with that. My stomach was so crampy today and I could feel my intestines gurgling and everything. I was so miserable.
stomach has been gurgling, growling for days, no heartburn, no nausea, perfect appetite, no gas, slight bloating. Eating does not reduce the rolling sounds, any cures out there? Thanks!
lalamac. I have exactly the same problem.gurgling in the stomach large amount of gas ongoing stifness in fingers laying down.As soon as I eat anything I have to go to the bathroom.Long pencil like feces often and immediately after swalowing sweling of the thyroid about 2 hours the subsiding. It feels like every time I eat if it would take TOXIC raction in my stomach because with sweling of thyroid I at the same time experience pain in the ears like a flu for 15 minutes.
Then a month later I got indigestion and bloating a couple of times and excessively loud stomach gurgling and by this I mean seriously not normal, which I have never had in my life before, started. It mainly gurgles after eating or drinking just about anything and will go on for a couple of minutes or more, and then will occasionally gurgle or bubble at other times, like when I lie down to go to bed. Its so loud it echoes everywhere!
No pain, no problems with bowel movements, just a stomach that sounds like a sci fi movie, ridiculous amount of noise and can feel pops of gas, and lots of farts. What helps is taking 1/4 of Ativan tablet before I eat, then stomach is calm and bloat is less uncomfortable, though still will fart ( ive always done that though so that doesnt worry me). Ruled out reflux, parasites, etc.
is it normal to have gurgling stomach noises all the way down in your pelvis area? It is not normal to me and feels wierd and wrong. What is this?
Hi- I am 18 years old, and for as long as I could remember, I experience really bad "throat gurgling" as I call it. It is not gas that comes into my throat, but instead, and intense gurgling noise that starts in my stomach and travels up my throat into my mouth. I thought it might be due to my diet, so I have stopped drinking carbonated foods, and have been on Weight Watchers for a while to improve my eating, but the gurglnig is still there!
I found this forum thread by googling "gurgling heart," and my symptoms (if that's what they are) are strangely similar in some ways to the details in the original post. I have the same gurgling sensation in the upper left section of my chest (my upper left), consistently. It's not the same sensation as a hunger or digestion rumble. It's kind of bizarre feeling. Mine happen at night, but also sometimes during the day. I also have the same heart rate issues.
The liquids are moving around and make that gurgling noise. Be thankful you don't have gas that hurts in combination with that!
Lately (since mid-January) I've felt/heard a lot of stomach gurgling. At first I thought it was just the sounds of a hungry stomach. But the sound comes even when I'm not hungry. It feels like there's a lot of shifting down in my intestines, as if things are moving around or settling into place. Sometimes it's loud enough to hear and sometimes not. It happens throughout the day, most noticeably in the afternoons. It seems like it might be getting worse.
WHAT is GOING ON? I HAVE HAD LOUD stomach gurgling FOR SEVERAL DAYS. I DID START NOTICING IT STARTED AFTER FINisHING AN OVER THE COUNTER SORE THROAT LIQUID MEDICINE. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT TIME of DAY IT is OR IF I HAVE EATEN OR NOT. LAST NIGHT WHEN I TRIED TO HAVE A BM I DIDN'T THINK IT HAD HAPPENED BUT WHEN I WHIPED THERE WAS SOMELOOSE STOOL. TODAY I WENT TO THE REST ROOM AND FOUND FECES IN MY UNDERPANTS. WHEN I TRIED TO USE THE BATHROOM NOTHING HAPPENED. AM I INCONTINENT? DO I HAVE CANCER?
When the symtoms begin, I won't be able to burp and gurgling noises come from my throat. I still have stomach pain almost daily, and I wake up about 5am every morning because of stomach pangs that prevent me from sleeping. My bowel movements are normal, but sometimes have a whitest mass of a stringy substance and same substance in my emesis. It has been 2 months since I thrown up and that is the longest period since this first began.
I am 21 and I've had acid relux/ GERD since I was 2 weeks old. My esophagus has been making uncontrollable noises since I can remember. I have visited many doctors and no one has ever been able to tell me what is causing the gurgling noises from my esophagus I have so unlovingly dubbed "Gus". It happens when it is quiet and especially at night. I have tried changing my diet and every perscription and over-the-counter acid reducing medication available.
I started having gas, bloating, and a gurgling stomach in February (onset was quite sudden). Symptoms seemed to wax and wane over the weeks, but now have worsened and become constant (they used to be just at night, now they are all day, almost everyday). I have seen two doctors about this and one says IBS, the other thinks I may have too much stomach acid. My question is: can excess stomach acid cause the above symtoms? and would either of these conditions have such a sudden onset?
It seems like every time I move around while I'm sitting, or every time I lie down, I hear these super loud gurgling noises from my belly/abdominal area. I can't really tell if it's my actual intestines making noise or if it's inside my uterus. I know it's not just my stomach because I can feel it too and when I lie down it happens on the side I'm lying on.
Around October 4th I began to have a gurgling stomach (which hasn't stopped to this day). It wasn't the normal growling from being hungry, it was different. I went in for a physical after this started happening, because I was nervous. On an empty stomach, I was giving a flu shot, rocephin and zythromycin (had to fast for the physical). I ate Chinese buffet after I took all of those drugs - not smart. That night, I began to have really dark, tarry diarrhea that lasted for a week.
This sound might be related to internal gas, but it does not stopped even after I have passed gas. I had for many years a mild case of diarrhea that seems to come and go (no pun intended). Recently, I have acid reflux that seems to be remedied with Tegument liquid. Please advise on how I can correct these digestive disorders.
) I used to have to lay down every night after dinner massaging the gas in my stomach to relieve the pain, now I rarely have to do this. I just did a burp then!! It still sounds a bit weird and kind of hurts a little, but who cares?! Anyway, some other things that really helped and continue to do so: - Wear loose fitting pants and shirts. 'Sucking it in' makes things infinitely worse. - Maybe think about giving up milk and meat.
But by then the stomach conditions started and associated every little symptom with cancer. stomach gurgling all the way down to the lower bowel, chest tightness, back pain etc. So I went back to the doctor with my symptoms. He sent me to a GI specialist to get an endoscopy. ( camera down my throat ) The result of this was a mild case of gastritis and evidence of a small hiatus hernia. The doc explained that most of the symptoms I had been suffering were consistant with the gastritis.
For over 6 weeks, I have had diarrhea with a lot of gas, cramping, stomach gurgling, which is only helped by taking psyllium. Have also noticed increased hiccups, burping. I have had GERD for a few years but these symptoms are new. What is likely cause?
I have been suffereing from gastritis resulting from antibiotic treatment from H pylori bacteria since Jan of last year. Even though my stomach condition has gotten better, I am still having problem with my colon. First of all, it feels really hard. Sometimes, it is painful to stretch my belly it is so hardened. Also usually about 4 hrs after the meal or in the morning, I hear a really loud water gurgling sound on my left side of colon. What is wrong with my digestive system?
Referring to your post regarding A/Fib and bloated stomach/gas, I too have had the same experience. I believe it is a mechanical effect in that the gas inflates the intestine which in turn pushes on the vagus nerve or the bottom of the heart and triggers the A/F episode. The sensation is located under the left rib cage not in the chest. I can also induce A/F by swallowing something very cold on an empty stomach. This freaks out the nerve and the A/F proceeds.
I am a 25 year old female and I occasionally experience sharp pain in the lower abdomen (in the lower right quadrant) followed by a gurgling sound that temporarily relieves the pressure/pain. I have had these episodes for as long as I can remember but lately they have much more close together. When I was younger, I would say that I would have maybe 2 a year but now I am having these attacks once every 2 or 3 months and sometimes more than one in a month.
