Throwing up everything INCLUDING water...stomach hurts so much..muscles ache from throwing up..back hurts so much..cramps..sweating and headaches..and on top of that Cody decides he likes to kick me from the inside..I'm hungry but food is making me sick.

If you got the flu shot you most likely have the flu I would go to hospital so they can test you because the flu is very contagious and your putting others at risk. If you can't keep fluids down that is harmful to your baby because it can cause dehydration. And is some cases the flu has been known to kill unborn baby. Just go to the doctors to see what is going on better be safe and find out early then to be sorry and find out if is the flu.

Anyone else have or had the stomach flu while pregnant? I'm 4 months and have had the flu for past 2 days. Was given a prescription for zofran but I'm still super exhausted and worried it will hurt the baby all this vomiting and and soreness around my back and stomach.

I took it twice when i had the stomach flu and it helped me immensely but the dr told me if I'm concerned about birth defects even though he said its fine, that i should take it only if i really need it like its the only way i can eat

Earlier in my pregnancy (9 weeks) i got a super bad 24 hour stomach flu, and now i am 13 weeks and i just got over a a pretty bad 7 day head cold which started with a sore throat, i better for only 3 days and now im getting sick again ( i can feel it coming) ahhh this *****, i am sick of feeling yucky ): I am mostly just venting right now lol

Okay so yesterday i felt bad and was cramping. Started vomiting and (tmi) having water like diarrhea. Now i have a headache that won't go away my nose is runny, I'm freezing (when I'm usually burning up, bit don't have a thermometer to take my temp) and my body aches all over... I haven't peed since like 4 pm yesterday evening so I'm probably dehydrated. Phenergan and zofran are not helping, even called my doc and he upped my dosage, still puking.

Has anyone had the stomach flu while pregnant? I'm 90% sure I have it. I feel absolutely miserable. I want to eat but I don't want to get ore sick off what I eat. Any suggestions? My symptoms are terrible belly ache for over 24 hours, weak and tired, acid reflux, nauseated, diarreah.

Ask your dr. for zofran. Works wonders! Promethazine as well but it will make u very sleepy!

I had a bout of the stomach flu at around 22 weeks. I went to the ER to get an IV because it's not healthy to be dehydrated while pregnant. It could just be the stomach flu, mine lasted two days. I would say if it lasts more than two days, go to see a doctor.

@LBurkhart10 No they said Zofran causes constipation! But I honestly think I have the stomach flu so I'm heading back to the er right now! Hopefully your feel better @ladyOc thank you ladies for your response!

I understand your pain! At 6 weeks I was diagnosed with Hypermesis (HG). I could not keep anything down including water (which is not the best for severe nausea and vomiting so don't drink a lot). On my worse day I vomited 14 hours non-stop. When I was 1st diagnosed I vomited for 33 hours. I had severely dehydration, low sodium, low potassium, extremely low blood pressure and my body was starving. I was in the ER weekly for meds and IV fluid.

That's not the flu. Influenza is an upper respiratory sickness. The "stomach" flu is called gastroentitis or however it's speller and is caused by inflammation from bacteria and other viruses. Your doctor can prescribe you antibiotics since it's so severe.

I took one, when I had stomach flu. Then I found out about the heart defects. I threw the rest away. Wasn't worth the risk to me. That's a personal choice though. Doctors are only human. The prescribe meds and procedures knowing that there are risks and some people will be badly effected.

What can u do for a stomach virus while ur pregnant.?? Other than drinking lots of fluids...(i throw the water right up) i juss took a zofran so im hoping it helps.

You can try ginger ale saltines just don't take more meds then prescribed. With my first pregnancy zofran just took the edge off but it didn't work miracles.

So I've been seeing all this negative stuff about zofran causing all kinds of birth defects to unborn babies. I'm 30 weeks pregnant & I've been taking zofran my entire pregnancy, so it's worrying me. Has anyone else taken zofran? What are your opinions on it?

Still not wanting to eat since I feel very nauseated even just drinking the water. Any ideas? Stomach flu? Severe morning sickness? Combo? I haven't had my first ob appointment yet since I'm 6wks4days today. My appt is scheduled for Dec 2nd. Sounds crazy but my friend swears by it. Eating small meals of bland foods (think the BRAT diet for getting over stomach flu) frequently may help. Keep crackers or something on your bedside table and munch a few every time you wake up at night and right when you wake up in the morning. If you have prenatals, try to take them at night and with food. Good luck!

So i have been stressing about being sick lately, barely had any sleep last night and barely ate with some vomiting and nausea. I Took a zofran to calm my stomach. I have bile reflux with ibs-c and it causes chronic gastritis, which mimics the stomach flu. I got out of my car and walked a bit and i felt a thud in my chest which prompted me to feel my pulse.

I'm on Zofran too! Due to weight loss from not keeping ANYTHING down. It's done wonders for me too! I didn't even think to suggest that. I'm glad someone else did!

I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!

I have taken my zofran and am hoping that that is the end of it. I took phenegren for a couple of years when needed but earlier this year when my hubby took me to the ER they gave me zofran and I found it worked WAY better than the phenegran. But it seems lately like it's kinda lost its luster and is not as efficient as it once was. I just got a sprite and am trying to sip my way through that. Anybody have any suggestions? Do you think its from the ulcers?

Ginger not only helps reduce nausea, it soothes a sore stomach, helps lower fevers and breaks up congestion and coughing due to flu or the common cold. Ginger can thin the blood. If you take blood thinning medicines, consult your health practitioner before using ginger in medicinal doses. Lemon Hot lemonade or lemon tea may help relax your stomach and reduce nausea.

Yeah they gave me zofran to. I normally wouldn't have went but i was worried about baby and when it got to the point of not being able to hold water down and I felt as if I was dehydrated I had to plus My husband got really worried because this is our first and I guess we just get nervous really easy.

I had the worst morning sickness. I hated it. It was like months on end of the stomach flu. Ugh. I found I did best by keeping something in my stomach. I went everywhere with crackers in my purse, ate more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches than the years before pregnancy combined, etc. I switched my prenatal vitamin from morning to night.

Sounds like the flu to me.... never had chills or diahrea with morning sickness.... just simply sick to the stomach.... never threw up though... I would just go lay down in front of the fan & take my nausea meds then moments later it would pass....
