Avatar f tn t know how this could have happened considering that I drink at least 40 ounces of water a day anyways, Saturday during the day I started feeling nausea again and actually started to dry heave but nothing every came up and I had yellow diarrhea all during the day, I also felt the chills. It has been two days now and I am still having these feelings but the doctors tell me that it is nothing to be worried about but I am worried that it is something serious. Please help.
Avatar f tn It's now been 4 days of yellow, greasy, and kinda mucusy diarrhea (sorry but super gross). I had a slight fever on the second day however it went away. So I just thought it was a stomach virus. Third day felt like fine, continued on with my normal schedule. Not wanting to jinx it I ate lightly (crackers, bread, and water... etc.). Got home in time for dinner feeling perfectly fine. Ate couple slice of pizza and in the next hour had the same diarrhea as before.
Avatar f tn I'm 12 weeks pregnant today and have been up all night with diarrhea, upset stomach, headache, and stuffy nose. I haven't thrown up(yet) but this diarrhea is killing me is there I can do to make it stop or should I call my dr when her office opens? This is my third child and I've never been sick while pregnant so I don't know what to do. Please help!!
Avatar n tn Hi! So I usually never get sick. In the last 8 months I have had 4 episodes of the same "stomach virus". I wake up in the middle of the night with the doom feeling and have diarrhea. It quickly turns to bright yellow and I have multiple episodes throughout the night. I do not usually feel sick to my stomach like nausea but I have dry heaved with each of the 4 episodes. My last one was Thursday night into Friday.
Avatar f tn Also this may sound gross but do you have any diarrhea with it? You could just have a slight stomach bug where you feel hungry but everything you eat is going to irritate it. I would wait til tomorrow and see how you feel and if you are still miserable and are vomiting I would see a doctor as it could be the start of something more serious such as food poisoning, a reflux disorder, bowel obstruction, gall bladder etc. You can vomit a yellow watery substance for many reasons.
Avatar f tn I have been sick with a cold/flu for three weeks. Two days ago, I developed diarrhea. It seemed to occur immediately after eating. Today, the diarrhea was bright yellow and I passed something the size of a small grape (also yellow in color). I'm currently on synthroid (for hypothyroidism), effexor (for depression), and metformin & byetta (for insulin resistence). I've been on the Byetta for nearly a month, but have not suffered any side effects to date.
1063644 tn?1278643267 Whenever I visit my parents, I always get sick ~ upset stomach, cramps, yellow and sometimes oily diarrhea. I don't drink their water, but do use a lot of ice which is filtered. Could there be something in the water that causes this to happen? Their water is from a well, not public. They happen to live in NY State and I live in Northern NJ.
951441 tn?1246179425 ve worked in the medical field and found that sometimes exaggerating a bit will get you the needed attention and proper testing. Bright yellow diarrhea is not part of a stomach virus. I do think you need a colonoscopy, and blood work. Nobody knows their body better than you, and you know when something is more than the flu. If you can get into a gastroenterologist right away, do this. They are better able to address your issues.
5421936 tn?1378849147 So my daughter was throwing up on Saturday until about late afternoon. No other symptoms. I woke up today...stomach ache, headache, body ache, throwing up, diarrhea. Can't keep nothing done. No food, ginger ale. My hubby came home and now he has it. Ughhhh I hope this passes like...tonight. I just ate some applesauce and a few saltines and sipping Gatorade. Being 9 months pregnant and stomach flu is not fun at all.
2050045 tn?1343153733 If it only lasted a couple hours and not several days it was food poisoning...most people get it without even knowing it because they automatically label it as "stomach flu" if your doctor said 2 go if it doesn't go away I wouldn't worry about it if it's finally over with...
Avatar n tn I'm very worried about my 5 yr. old who had the "stomach flu" over a month ago, as the whole family did. Since then she as had continuous puralent diarrhea and vomitting 2-3 times a week, usually 1-2 AM in her sleep. She became dehydrated and had IV's. Her pediatrician thinks it will get better. Finally they took stool, blood and urine samples. Her blood was normal, urine showed dehydration and ketosis, no salmonella in stool, but waiting for parasite results.
Avatar n tn Is it possible to have the stomach flu twice in a little over a month? On Christmas Day my husband was sick, vomited once and had bad diarrhea for almost a day. Today he came home from work and had bad diarrhea. Both times he slept quite a bit but rebounded very quickly. Is this the flu or could it be something else? Should he go to the doctors? I should also mention that he almost never gets sick, or has the flu. He is 63.
1770029 tn?1325802355 Hi and sorry you are ill. There is no such thing as "stomach flu" meaning the influenza virus does not cause flu in the stomach. It is considered gastroenteritis. The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.
Avatar f tn So I've had the stomach flu since Sunday night & its now Thursday morning. I'm starting to get really freaked out that its lasting this long. My symptoms are the usual symptoms, diarrhea, headache, a fever, chills, etc.. I haven't thrown up at all this whole time thankfully. And I thought I was getting better because all the symptoms have went away, except I'm still getting diarrhea. Its just once a day, its not chronic like im running to the bathroom.
Avatar n tn Currently I still have a temp of 99-100. Still have bad stomach pain and grumbling with green and yellow diarrhea at least twice per day. I am scheduled for an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy in mid Sept, but I feel like a lot could happen between now and then. I believe the "flu" was caught at a child care facility. My 3yr old also caught the initial flu but not this nastiness that came after. I can't imagine a virus lasting 5 months. Please offer some suggestions....
Avatar n tn I have tried staying away from gluten, yeast, sulphites, but its so hard to know, as some foods have hidden ingredients.. This is the first time I have experienced the yellow diarrhea or stool.. I had to take a pill yesterday so I could sing at an Easter celebration, and have not gone since.. not sure what to do at this point.. any suggestions? the only med I am on is Crestor for high cholestoral..
Avatar n tn I recently had my gall bladder removed (laproscopic). The surgery took place on Oct. 20, 2008. I did fine after surgery. However, approx. Dec. 1, 2008, I started experiencing discomfort. It progressively got worse throughout the month. Now, all I do is vomit and diarrhea EVERYTIME I eat. I have been to the ER where they discovered that I was very dehydrated and they administered two bags of fluids and high powered antibiotics.
10286987 tn?1410261849 ive had a sour stomach for 3 days straight + diarrhea, and one day it just stopped but later that night i woke up vomiting i feel pretty bad right now..
Avatar f tn You have no other symptoms that would indicate swine flu. Remember that H1N1 flu is much like the seasonal flu, and is only worse in people who have a compromised immune systems. There is no treatment for H1N1 except Tamiflu which only shortens the duration of the illness by 1 day, so why even bother. H1N1 can lead to upper resperatory problems, and this is when you need to seek help. The media has blown this way out of proportion, many more people die from the seasonal flu.
