5615074 tn?1378316840 I think I caught the stomach flu from my nephew and my moms helper. I am about to be 36 weeks, so is there anything I can do for it, or do I just have to wait it out? I haven't really ate today and drinking is just as bad. I have gone to the bathroom numerous times today and have been continuously nauseous for about 5 hours.
Avatar f tn Anyone else had any stomach flu problems? Try anything u were able to keep down.
1770029 tn?1325802355 Hi and sorry you are ill. There is no such thing as "stomach flu" meaning the influenza virus does not cause flu in the stomach. It is considered gastroenteritis. The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.

Avatar n tn Has anyone experienced an increase in nausea and flu like symptoms following completion of six month treatment with Interferon and Ribavirin? My husband is only 3 days post treatment and feels worse than he did at any point during treatment. Any input would be appreciated. Have a call in to the Dr., but would appreciate any info on actual experience with this.
Avatar f tn Adults usually don't get GI symptoms with the flu. Flu symptoms include fever, headaches, cough, body aches.. You could have a stomach bug though or even food poisoning.
Avatar f tn Common viruses that cause cold flu or stomach flu can cause nausea and headache. There may be other associated signs like runny nose, diarrhea, fever, body aches which may be suggestive of a viral illness. Migraine can cause nausea, severe headache and there may be extreme sensitivity to light. Nausea, severe headache with neck stiffness can be suggestive of meningitis. Acid reflux disease can also cause headache, nausea and abdominal discomfort.
Avatar m tn However, 17 days after that event I had suddenly nausea, a little bit of diarrhea and then a flu (no fever, but running nose). After few days I had on the right upper chest like blueish and reddish spots for about 1 day (actually, was less than 24 hours). It looked like bruise... After 23 days I made a hiv combo test (NEG) and liver blood test (high ggt (92), got (56) and gpt (52)).
Avatar f tn For about three and four weeks, I've been experiencing severe nausea, stomach ache, and headache. I had thought that it was the flu, but no fever. I'm very concerned, and we just started school up, and I hate the nausea, it makes things very hard.
Avatar f tn The pain radiates into my back when th spasm starts. I always thought I had the stomach flu but this is definitely something different. Any suggestions about how to deal with them or what might be causing them?
Avatar m tn It started after I had the flu which made me vomit and caused a tremendous amount of pain in my back, I had no fever and just had a sore throat the week before the flu. The nausea now is causing me to lose my appetite, I feel somewhat weaker, and definitely have a weaker stomach (some days the slightest odors make me gag) .
Avatar f tn My man started getting cold, then stomach pains, nausea and general feelings of weakness. Those were his symptoms. Mostly nausea. Me, well I woke up freezing, made coffee, drank a cup and just out of the blue, bang! Severe nausea and diahrea, Couldnt sit and bend over at the same time. Couldnt keep any liquids down and quickly dehydrated. After about 8-12 hrs, it went away as fast as it came. Seems the kids had this thing the week before us.
8600220 tn?1398955674 It does take about a week to get over viral stomach flu which isn't really a flu but that is what most people call it. It is caused by norovirus usually. If you are able to drink fluids maybe cut back on eating solid foods too much and you should feel better. If it doesn't get better you could have a bacterial food poisoning. Do you have a high fever? See if you cut back on your solid food intake and try soups and see if you feel better.
3058745 tn?1351112728 I'm into my 7th week as well, and going through all the normal symptoms except nausea and vomiting too. My mum reassured me that she didn't suffer from nausea either, so until I have my first prenatal checkup (Friday 13th: ooo-er!) I'm putting it down to the fact that every pregnancy is different, and thanking my lucky stars I don't have to run to the toilet every 10 minutes!
Avatar n tn I would say that because it is happening only three to four times a year it is just related to having a sensitive stomach to certain foods. I would just avoid those foods or deal with the symptoms. There isn't really any treatment for this. However, if when this happens you are vomiting continuously for a while then you need to see a doctor.
Avatar n tn There are numerous causes other than stomach flu to have these symptoms:- • Peptic ulcer • Gastritis • Irritable bowel syndrome • Esophegitis • Crohn's disease • Gastroesophageal reflux disease • Inflammatory bowel disease • Pancreatitis • Cancer of the stomach/pancreas (upper abdomen), colon (lower) • Appendicitis • Dyspepsia • Gastroenteritis Some antibiotics can cause horrific side effects, such as ulcers and gastrits.

Avatar f tn My body ached all over and i had a bit of nausea, i figured i was just catching some type of flu or cold. Then the next day i had bad nausea and diarrhea, it lasted all day and i figured i would feel better the next day, and i did, but then i started feeling nauseous again.
Avatar m tn Stress can also cause ulcers in your stomach causing these symptoms. Have you been checked for an ulcer? I would recomend seeing your physician and having an exam and full blood work up done. Whether you are generally healthy or not, it is still possible to get sick and stress can weaken your immune system causing you to catch certain illnesses. Please see your doctor.
12182312 tn?1427683956 As I've gotten older, my period symptoms have shifted into more intense cramps with more soreness in my breasts. In fact, my period symptoms mimic my previous pregnancy symptoms more than ever before. I'll get lower back pain, terrible stomach issues, and just a downright flu-like feeling sometimes. Try taking a good and easy vitamin daily. I still take my pre-natals because they're way better than any women's daily vitamin I'll get at GNC.
Avatar f tn Nausea is one of the symptoms of being pregnant. First and foremost, did you miss your period? If so, I would suggest you take a test after a few days. If you haven't missed your period, wait until you do. I'm curious though.....
Avatar f tn I'm 13 weeks pregnant and have the symptoms of a stomach bug including nausea and diarrhea. I have not had any morning sickness with this pregnancy and the prenatal vitamins did constipate me for the first week until my body got adapted. I'm not feeling all that hungry but i'm still taking the prenatal in the morning. When i do eat, I'm running to the bathroom. Has anyone else had this issue? What are some suggestions to help feel better?
