stomach flu symptoms fever

I have been sick for five days now constant fever, horrible cough, bodyaches, and stomach sourness. My fever reached 105.2 yesterday that is when I thought I should get to a doctor, my doctor was not working so I had to see a different one. He told me I most likely have a sinus infection? Why do I have burning in my stomach and constant nausia? The fever seems to slowly disappearing and the bodyaches as well, but this conitinuous sickness feeling is the hardest part.

I have vomiting and diarreaha 104 fever. I can't keep anything in my stomach. Two days already.

Ok this might not be the right fourm but. I know that symptoms are a bad way to diagnose hiv , but im just wondering. Ive had this "Fever" for the past like month, and its been arround 99.3 as high as 100.2 ok so i say "fever" cuz im not sure if thats even considered a fever...is that typical of hiv, or is this just a flu bug.

Hi and sorry you are ill. There is no such thing as "stomach flu" meaning the influenza virus does not cause flu in the stomach. It is considered gastroenteritis. The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.

So I've had the stomach flu since Sunday night & its now Thursday morning. I'm starting to get really freaked out that its lasting this long. My symptoms are the usual symptoms, diarrhea, headache, a fever, chills, etc.. I haven't thrown up at all this whole time thankfully. And I thought I was getting better because all the symptoms have went away, except I'm still getting diarrhea. Its just once a day, its not chronic like im running to the bathroom.

It does take about a week to get over viral stomach flu which isn't really a flu but that is what most people call it. It is caused by norovirus usually. If you are able to drink fluids maybe cut back on eating solid foods too much and you should feel better. If it doesn't get better you could have a bacterial food poisoning. Do you have a high fever? See if you cut back on your solid food intake and try soups and see if you feel better.

I normally wouldnt be nervous bc it was low risk but i developed symptoms. 5 days post exposure i had flu like symptoms with fever, night sweats, sore throat, achey muscles, ect... I went to doctor and he said it was probaly the flu. However I received a flu shot 4 months ago!!! So what could it be??After the medicene I was better after 4 days or so. Since then I have terrible diahreaa and upset stomach. Please advise.

If the test comes back positive they will treat you will several antibiotics and possibly bismuth sulfite. As for the flu symptoms, plus the stomach pain it is possible that you had a virus if you had diarrhea? Hard to know without all the information and test results.

Thanks for the response, I was worried because I read that it's typical to feel symptoms of the flu early on, since herpes is a virus. I read that diarrhea can occur too. When i looked up the flu virus, diarrhea didn't appear to be one of the symptoms. It is one of the symptoms for stomach flu, but from what I saw, not one of the flu. I don't think I have stomach flu though, since I didn't vomit or anything.

Sounds like he has the stomach flu. I would go for a second opinion to a different doctor if I were you.

To all,I dont want to over react to having flu symptoms. I am not on treatment, dont have any signifcant liver disease yet. This is the first time I have been sick since I found out I have hep c. of course I dont know how long I have had it. probably as long as 30 plus years. I am 51. I live in the fort worth area and it seems like the media is scareing everyone. I have not been to the doc yet but have a fluctuating temp of 100 to101.

My husband is laying in bed with severe stomach pain and refuses to go to ER...he says "it's the stomach flu...eveyone has it" My concern is this...he had this for 1 day in November, another on Christmas day that lasted 30 hours, and again today....it woke him up at about 1 am and been hurting since. Now he says it's getting better. The only other symptoms are chills...no nasea, no diarrahea, no fever..

I thought that i was getting better after a couple of days, but soon was awakened with a stomach flu in the middle of the night, I'm not throwing up anymore, but still have diarrhea and a very consistent pain in my abdomen, which I'm pretty sure is gas. Although i haven't been able to walk upright for long amounts of time without the pain becoming overwhelming its almost by my belly button but isn't stuck in one spot. Any help is appreciated.

gets around. Two days after I started having flu-like symptoms, achiness, intermittent headache, painful swollen glands in my throat and groin, itchiness. I thought maybe I had gotten herpes but then a couple days later I had a single incident of diarrhea that was followed by 3 days of constipation. Since then (about 3 weeks now) I have gone back and forth between constipation and diarrhea.

Has anyone experienced this? I know morning sickness changes from time to time. Is it normal for it to feel like flu? I don't have a fever. I've lost 3 babies and this will be my first so it's easy to worry about "abnormal" stuff...

I then went to my family doctor who looked at it and said he did not think it was herpes and thought I had gone through the stomach flu which is going around town right now. He gave me a rocephin shot to cover all basis. Immediately after getting home I inspected the bumps which seemed to be gone and nothing was tender to touch. That night I was able to sleep normally and did not have cold sweats and felt better overall.

Is it possible to have the flu virus and only have fever,headache,body aches? Or one must have actual cough with cold symptoms?

Adults usually don't get GI symptoms with the flu. Flu symptoms include fever, headaches, cough, body aches.. You could have a stomach bug though or even food poisoning.

I was told by my sons asthma specialist that he may have the flu. 1st day fever 100.8, chills, headache, stomach ache. 2nd day VERY mild symptons. 3rd day got cough with burning in lungs but no fever. Now he seems fine. I'm not sure if I should keep him out of school again or go to doctors?
