I have a cold an taking no medicine is killing me. Is there Any over the counter meds I can take?

So any medication that you can go in and buy without a prescription is considered an over the counter medication. This would include every single med lined up on the shelves ..... pain killers, cough meds, diarrhea meds, nausea meds, stomach meds, anti-itching meds, everything. If I recall correctly, you have cirrhosis, so you really do have to be careful not to take anything that the doctor does not approve first.

An over the counter medication is any medication that can be purchased without a prescription "over the counter", but does not make the medication safer and needs to be taken according to the directions on the package and there is a need to be more vigilent and take into consideration individual health, the benefits versus the risks and potential interactions with any prescribed meidcations.

I dont know what is allowed over the counter.... but docs can prescribe stuff for nausea. So Yeah.... good luck if i find something that u can take over the counter ill be sure to let u know though.

, there could be a serious reason why this is happening, i dont mean to scare you, it could be that you are constipated and pushing to much, but if the bowl is filled up, i would call your doctor right away, and this way, they can rule out different causes and hopefully get to the problem, i wouldnt take anything over the counter until i was seen by a doctor, good luck, let us know how you make out.

I know im not pregnant, i thought maybe it was the stomach flu, but I should be better by now. Any ideas what this might be?

The Vet offered a perscription, but I would like to try something over the counter first. Can I give him aspirin or would it hurt me? Any advise would be appreciated.

My Dr at Kaiser said that the OTC and the ones they prescribe are the same. I didn't argue with her since she has the degree and just bough some from the pharmacy. When ever your next visit is with your OB check with her/him.

But, I would like to know if there is an over the counter medicine. I only get the urgency after a little stress. It stops after 10 hours or so on it's own. But, a cheaper "as needed" OTC medicine would sure be something I am interested in.

yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.

t get your stomach to settle down try calling your doc to see if there is anything over-the-counter you can take. Hope you feel better.

You probably have the flu (because the flu is actually a respiratory virus but there is also the intestinal flu and the stomach flu) but that is what I had (I had a 103.

I have several presentations that I have to give next week and I was hoping for some suggestions as to what I can take to help ease my anxiety. If it only lasted a couple hours and not several days it was food poisoning...most people get it without even knowing it because they automatically label it as "stomach flu" if your doctor said 2 go if it doesn't go away I wouldn't worry about it if it's finally over with...

You can take over the counter gas x for the pain and bloating if any. Take tylenol extra strength for the pain. Do not take ibuprofen. Are you having any acid, heartburn etc..?
