6 days ago I got a fever and felt like I had the flu or a bad cold. The following day it got worse and I also had mild stomach aches. I saw my GP who said to rest as it was probably a viral inflection. Since then the abdominal pain has got worse, but the flu symptoms have gone away. I had diarrhoea on one day but my bowel movements seem to be back to normal now, although it does feel hard to pass gas and I do need to strain to pass a bowel movement.
I had my appendix removed 17 years ago. It's not always that obvious. I was sick for 3 days, but just thought that it was something I ate. On the third day, it was so bad that it hurt to breathe and all I could do was keep my knees to my chest, curled up in a ball. When we finally took my temperature (I didn't even say anything to my parents about not feeling well until that third day), it was 102.5 degrees.
I need some help understanding if I have chronic appendicitis or possible acute appendix issues or just Irritiable Bowel syndrom issues. This is what I feel is going on. Ok, so for about a week or so I've been feeling some strange things going on in the area of my appendix and have no clue what it could be but I'm so worried. Now, I've read so many stories on this issue and most people say the pain they feel is so intense, extremely painful, sweating, and vomiting, and what not, but not me.
My daughter is 3 years old and has had a stomach ach for about 4 hours she complains of it being on her lower right side and around to her lower right side of her back, she began vomiting about 3 hours ago and has vomitted about 6 times in 3 hours, we are forcing her to drink water and trying a popcicle but every time she get even a few sips she vomits again. She has never had the flu or anything more than allergies or a cold.
Hi there, It may not be possible to determine the exact cause without a detailed medical evaluation and work up. Stomach flu, viral gastroenteritis, food poisoning, acute appendicitis are few common causes of fever with abdominal pain. In such a situation symptomatic treatment is indicated. Take plenty of water and fluids. If there is bloating along with abdominal distension then antacids may be helpful. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. I hope it helps.
I been having severe stomach pains, for about a week or so. I would like to know what might be causing this pain. I'm not taking any medicaton at the moment, but I would like some more information on this matter. In adition, I took a laxative a few days ago, which cleaned out my system, but I still feel the pain getting worse.
Hi, I have been feeling nauseaus for a few weeks now, it comes & goes, is present about 75% of the time. I have headaches, stomach aches, sometimes lower back pain and feel dizzy and weak. Having said all this, I don't feel "sick", like a flu or anything like that. I get regular chiropractic adjustments, so I know the symptoms aren't related to being out of alignment or anything like that. It's hard to function, hard to concentrate, etc.
So over a week ago my family all suffered from having the stomach flu, luckily i wasnt present for this. by the time i returned home everyone was well and healthy. The very night i came home i began feeling very nausious and having bad stomach pains. I figured it was just my luck and i was then catching the virus to. However as days passed by the pains stoped and the nausia remained.
I have had two episodes where I thought I had a stomach virus/flu, but the pain was very intense like never before. Both times started with a short bout of diarrhea with very severe abdominal pain that made me wonder if I had appendicitis. The pain was all over my lower abdomen and not really localized to one side. After the initial pain I had a lot of swelling in my lower abdominal area for a fews day with soreness that made it difficult to walk to walk or sit, and rectal pressure.
Its not close enough to really be putting pressure on my stomach though to cause pain when i urinate or have a bowel movement, although my urine has been coming up as NEGATIVE (is fine) according to the doctor in my area, I've had the occasional soft drink on since saturday night, (now being tuesday midday) an all other times i mostly just drink water, as i had a test done and had a doctor take a look at me, i have told them it hurts to lay in bed on my opposite side of the pain but not so much
I would like to know how many people feel that they get atrial fibrillation and feel that it may be related to gas or full, bloated stomach, intestinal or digestive tract troubles etc? Any way I also would be interested in what anyone might have to say about it and or what they may have learned from this if they know or even think this to be the case for them and would also like to correspond with others to trade stories and info on what they've learned and done. Be well.
I have been tested by a critical care assessment and was told I was showing neurpathy in left arm and leg. Is this typical for Lyme or MS? I am so confused with all my symptoms. Both legs hurt, twitch, muscles roll. I get leg weakness and it doesnt affect my feet except buzzing in the left foot that changes form day to day. HELP??? My symptoms are different eveyday only constant is leg tenderness in the thighs and twitches in my calves. Dr.s are so confusing and dont know whats going on.
When the pain first starts, one does not know if the problem will be self-limited (for example viral gastroenteritis [stomach flu]) or whether the pain signifies the beginning of a problem that will require surgery e.g. acute appendicitis or acute cholecystitis (inflammation of the gall bladder).
Start feeling very light headed, the spins, knowing i must lay down put my head below my heart and make it ot the bathroom floor, or cold linoleum, ear ringing, stomach cramps, passing bad gas, then start sweating profusely. completey drenched. I do breathing to keep me calm. I will either vomit or take a bowl movement, sometimes both at the sametime. it passes soon after that. Once i know i can get on the toilet, i am coming out of it. Once dr told me it was low iron.

My 14 year old daughter kept complaining about her stomach hurting her so I took her to the doctors yesterday after work and they said she fine it's the stomach flu now the stomach pain moving to lower right abdomen and I keep calling her doc and she said to bring her in 3 days after Christmas I really don't want my daughter hurting on Christmas if this pain continues. Hi-Since Monday I've been having moderate-severe stomach pain (was actually in the ER on Tuesday to r/o appendicitis). Sometimes the pain travels up to my upper stomach and chest (I have angina), I've been very nauseated, extremely tired and having dizzy episodes. The doc dx me with possible diverticulitis...now I'm wondering if this could be cardiac-related. I have a hx of SVT with 2 prior ablation procedures and a long hx of angina.

pain, rebound tenderness, low grade fever, vomited x1, not wanting to eat very much. Initally thought was getting the stomach flu until he didn't persist with the vomiting or had diarrea. In ER Abdominal XRAY was done- results large amount of stool and gas on right side. Blood work checked- Mono and crp slightly evalated ( not enough for them to say appendicitis). they gave a popsicle to him that caused him to have increased painin RLQ.
The pain can also be due to stomach flu (if you have diarrhea or are passing a lot of gas). Other causes of pain are kidney stones and colitis. Please consult a doctor who can examine you and as soon as possible to rule out appendicitis. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
last night,. i had 3-4 simultaneous stabbing pains that lasted 2-3 seconds in the sternum/heart area, VERY scary very uncomfortable. i do not know if this was GAS or if it was ACID REFLUX the docs always say either its ACID REFLUX or its "anxiety or stress" related. And yes when im full of gas, i am bloated , have a weird sensation in the body, a lil dizzy,. but once i release it, its like such a relief ! bloating goes away, i feel so good, but its hard to release it.
Stress, exhaustion, depression, common cold or flu, or other illnesses can also leave you feeling tired or fatigued. Nausea/Morning Sickness: This well-known pregnancy symptom will often show up between 2-8 weeks after conception. Some women are fortunate to not deal with morning sickness at all, while others will feel nauseous throughout most of their pregnancy. Other Explanations: Food poisoning, stress, or other stomach disorders can also cause you to feel queasy.
when he first had the symptoms was a day before i took him to the er he woke up with severe vomiting and stomach pain, his pcp diagnosed him with a stomach flu, i took him home and tried my best to make him keep liquids down and and keep him hydrated. the next morning he woke up with severe lower right abdominal pain and fever. i rushed him to the ER, after 3 hours of waiting the doctor ordered some xrays and notified me that my son had walking pneumonia.
Hi Thanks for keeping me posted! Your symptoms could be due to stomach flu, viral infection, appendicitis, colitis, or UTI. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please consult your family physician. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
#3- Do you have mid to lower right quadrant abdominal pain accompanied by a fever? It may be appendicitis. Or you may be experiencing what half the country has right now....a stomach virus. In any case go to your doctor immediately or the hospital for blood work to see if any of those are occurring. And if she can't hold anything down people, she can't meds. They will have to be administered either intraveinously or by suppository. Good luck and keep me posted when you get your diagnosis.
well ever since i got the stomach flu about 3 weeks ago, ive felt nauseous everyday. throwing up is one of my WORST fears and it put me in a depression for about a week. i brace myself everynight and hope that i dont get sick again like i did 3 weeks ago. but i noticced ive been nauseous everyday since then. its worse when im anxious of course. but i dont even know if it nausea? its a gaggy feeling in my throat, i dont feel like i have to puke, and i dont even gag.
It could be simple food poisoning/stomach flu or it could be appendicitis, ovarian cyst, gall bladder/pancreatic problems, etc. if your pain is severe and persistant you should get it checked. Better safe than sorry. Abd pain is nothing to overlook.
