My question is: How long do we need to quarantine ouselves to make sure that nobody else gets this? All three of us starting vomitting within minutes of each other late Monday night around 10pm. Well, I'm in California, and both my children have the 24 hour flu, one two days ago, vomiting and diarrhea, and the younger one today, but he just has diarrhea. Sometimes stomach flu goes around, in The Spring. I am on Victrelis (15th shot today, and havent had a loose bowel movement, since I began, pretty much the opposite. When I have had diarrhea in the past (which I HATE) I put myself on the BRAT diet, which is Bananas, (white)Rice, applesauce, and (dry white) Toast.
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this or not, but here goes. My husband is laying in bed with severe stomach pain and refuses to go to ER...he says "it's the stomach flu...eveyone has it" My concern is this...he had this for 1 day in November, another on Christmas day that lasted 30 hours, and again today....it woke him up at about 1 am and been hurting since. Now he says it's getting better. The only other symptoms are chills...no nasea, no diarrahea, no fever............

I had the h1n1 on 11/14 and the regular flu shot the week prior. My tingling started on 11/27. I am a 22 year old female and I have had stomach problems for the past 10 months. Hi all, I really hope someone can help me, although I'm ready to write this off as a mystery. I had a nasty stomach flu at least a month ago, threw up constantly for 8 hours, lost 10 lbs., felt better the next two days, then had an attack of constant diarrhea, basically couldn't leave the bathroom for 2 or 3 hours, lost another 5 lbs. I had never been sick like that in my life.
Whole stomach is tingling, feel like I was kicked in the gut, and as if I took too many aspirins, and feels like I am bleeding internally. Still pale, feel ill and eyes are blackened, sweating, weak. Visit to the ER produced no major results. How long is considered reasonable for stomach distress to go on after being treated for Giardia with Flagyl? Why do test results take so long for this? I still do not have the results.
My stomach was burning badly, and I was very, very nauseas. I thought I was getting a stomach bug or something. After a long night of stomach pain and chills, I woke up (after getting very little sleep) still feeling sick. The nausea had subsided SOME, but I have the worst gnawing, burning in my stomach area and chest. Two weeks prior to this, I had some sort of stomach virus for a whole two weeks. I believe it was viral because all of my family had it for that two week duration.
I have had the same problem for about a month now, when I was younger (about ten or eleven) I had the 'eggy burps' usually after I had been particularly sick with one of the strains of flu (particularly stomach flu) just recently it got worse, it was non-stop hell for a day and a half, and now that I have just recently started eating properly again, I've noticed that there is always one connection to this problem (for me anyway, it could be different for everyone) if I eat any type of cheese, I
I saw another post about atrial fibrillation and stomach gas possible association or connection. I too have the same thing so it may not be all in your head if your suspect this to be the case. Most dr.'s think your crazy or never heard of this when you even suggest it. Thats whats wrong with most dr's atleast in my experience in that they don't think outside the box enough possibly because this is what they learned.

I had a headache for a 4 days straight, felt a little dizzy at times, and my throat was sore a tiny bit yesterday. Other than that, all reasonable flu symptoms. Food poisoning, stomach flu, viral infection all can lead to diarrhea. You may take 1 teaspoon lemon juice with 1/2 teaspoon baking soda in 1 cup cool water. Drink it quickly after meals. Ginger tea can help. Pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 teaspoon freshly grated gingerroot. Steep for 5 minutes, then drink. Another remedy is mixing 1 teaspoon fresh ginger pulp with 1 teaspoon lime juice, and swallow after a meal. Eat slowly and chew food completely before swallowing.
