Avatar f tn If you got the flu shot you most likely have the flu I would go to hospital so they can test you because the flu is very contagious and your putting others at risk. If you can't keep fluids down that is harmful to your baby because it can cause dehydration. And is some cases the flu has been known to kill unborn baby. Just go to the doctors to see what is going on better be safe and find out early then to be sorry and find out if is the flu.
1770029 tn?1325802355 Hi and sorry you are ill. There is no such thing as "stomach flu" meaning the influenza virus does not cause flu in the stomach. It is considered gastroenteritis. The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.

Avatar f tn how long have you had this?
Avatar n tn I think we are contagious coz this morning I watched my wife talking to his brother and I noticed that his brother gets cough in the mids of their conversation, but I wondered because among the people inside the room only his brother gets cough, those the other people who are two meters away didn't experience coughing or sneezing..
Avatar f tn How long is too long for the Flu to last or to be feeling the effects of it? Had mostly headach and upset stomach, aching but no vomiting. Perhaps a lite fever for a day. The worst was over at the end of third day but still feel rotten, weak, tired and not inclined to eat much now on the 7th day. MY husband had it first so is into his10th day and also feeling much as I do. We are both in our early 70's and neither have had Flu Shots.
242516 tn?1368223905 The flu has passed epidemic rates in much of the country, and if you don't have a cold, I'm sure you have a friend who has the sniffles, fever, chills, aches and pains of a viral upper respiratory infection. This is different from a bacterial infection such as sinusitis, bronchitis, or pneumonia. A viral infection doesn't improve with antibiotics as these infections do. A virus hijacks your own body's healthy cells and uses it to reproduce and spread.

Avatar f tn What exactly WAS your exposure? That makes a big difference in how worried you should be about these things? Let's start there. What was your exposure?
Avatar f tn Flu viruses can be detected in most infected persons beginning one day before symptoms develop and up to five to seven days after becoming sick. People with flu are most contagious in the first three to four days after their illness begins. However, infants and people with weakened immune systems who are infected with flu viruses may be contagious for longer than seven days.
Avatar n tn His condition is recurring, non-contagious, and very long lasting, and we are worried about him, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar n tn I think you should step up and talk to both of these gals you've been with in the last month or so. Let them know that you've been diagnosed with genital herpes and you have no idea how long you've had it. That way they know that they need to get themselves tested to find out what their own status is. Wouldn't you want someone to do the same for you?
994863 tn?1251227076 I have to tell you that at this point you are just prolonging the agony. You are so far down now you can just jump off and it will only be a few days before you physically start to feel better. There are otc supplements that you can take to ease the process.
Avatar n tn Go under the perception that you can be contagious at all times even though most of the time you probably are not.
Avatar f tn Well, unfortunately, you can be contagious a few days to up to two weeks after a stomach bug. But usually it is 3 days. However, she may have had gastroenteritis, etc. which isn't contagious. I'd say you are in the clear but good hygiene to prevent illness is always a good idea.
