Avatar m tn Sounds like just a plain good old virus like everyone else is suffering. Tell your friend about testing and getting an STD screening. Good luck and hope she feels better.
Avatar n tn I thought that i was getting better after a couple of days, but soon was awakened with a stomach flu in the middle of the night, I'm not throwing up anymore, but still have diarrhea and a very consistent pain in my abdomen, which I'm pretty sure is gas. Although i haven't been able to walk upright for long amounts of time without the pain becoming overwhelming its almost by my belly button but isn't stuck in one spot. Any help is appreciated.
Avatar m tn hbv is a benigne disease on adults, it has no symptoms in most of the cases and is cleared 99% if immune system is not suppressed it is said about 95% adults clear hbv but the percentage is higher because there are no studies on this since almost no adults which develop cronic hbv are found so your girfriend has got it at birth or very young, in this case our immune system is not strong and formed yet and cronicity is the opposite, 95% get cronic to know if she has cronic sinc ebirth or sin
Avatar f tn Adults usually don't get GI symptoms with the flu. Flu symptoms include fever, headaches, cough, body aches.. You could have a stomach bug though or even food poisoning.
Avatar f tn It can make your stomach nauseous if you take it on an empty stomach. Take it during your time with the flu and a few days after you are well, just to make sure it won't come back. Also drink plenty of water. Water will pour the toxins out of you. Take vitamin D3. It helps too. If you feel the flu going deep into your lungs, get to the doctor because that can mean pneumonia. Build your body back up by taking vitamins and eat well.
280234 tn?1532986249 Hi Annie, thanks for your reply. I'm sorry that you had to deal with that at age 35. I hope you are doing well now. There isn't a family history in our family either that I know of, but my mom & dad are both in the early 50s, and haven't had colonoscopies. My GI doctor has told me that they need to have one very soon, since I have adenomas. I know colon cancer doesn't care what age you are.
4825186 tn?1409019576 That's not the flu. Influenza is an upper respiratory sickness. The "stomach" flu is called gastroentitis or however it's speller and is caused by inflammation from bacteria and other viruses. Your doctor can prescribe you antibiotics since it's so severe.
Avatar f tn A recent study published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition looked at the effect of green tea on health during the flu season. The study followed 118 healthy adults for three months during flu season; the participants ingested a capsule twice per day. The capsule was either decaffeinated green tea extract, which contained a standardized amount of the two immune-activating plant components found in green tea - L-theanine and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG); or a placebo.
Avatar f tn I'm 14 weeks pregnant, and I have the stomach flu. I've heard lots of things about being sick while pregnant, should everything be okay or what do I need to do to help stay healthy?
Avatar f tn TORADOLORAL (ketorolac tromethamine), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is indicated for the short-term (up to 5 days in adults), management of moderately severe acute pain that requires analgesia at the opioid level and only as continuation treatment following IV or IM dosing of ketorolac tromethamine, if necessary. The total combined duration of use of TORADOLORAL and ketorolac tromethamine should not exceed 5 days.
Avatar f tn Conventional medicine aims for you to be above 30. Natural medicine wants you to do more than be sufficient but to optimize your levels at at least 50. 50-60 is optimal. Dr. Mercola and the Vitamin D Council speak about aiming for 50-100 for optimal levels, so there is no need to be overly concerned about going over this when you're starting out so low.

2050045 tn?1343153733 If it only lasted a couple hours and not several days it was food poisoning...most people get it without even knowing it because they automatically label it as "stomach flu" if your doctor said 2 go if it doesn't go away I wouldn't worry about it if it's finally over with...
Avatar f tn My 2 yr old son has just vomitted for the 3rd time since I've been home (12am) and 1 more time before that. He pukes and doesn't have a problem passing right back out. For example his last time he roled over and puked, cried a tiny bit and then he passed right back out. 3 days ago I contracted, what I thougt, was food poisening, but all last week my wife's mother was really sick with something... seems to be a coincidence!
Avatar n tn You say "I have a 7 month baby and has the stomach flu." Do you mean you have the flu or the baby has the flu? If the latter, go with the advice from margy. If the former, feed the baby as usual, keeping yourself as hydrated as possible. (Stomach flu doesn't transmit in breast milk.

5615074 tn?1378316840 I think I caught the stomach flu from my nephew and my moms helper. I am about to be 36 weeks, so is there anything I can do for it, or do I just have to wait it out? I haven't really ate today and drinking is just as bad. I have gone to the bathroom numerous times today and have been continuously nauseous for about 5 hours.
