Avatar n tn As a rule most Hospitals have mammography available as a part of their X-ray Department.
Avatar m tn re not the only person under 40 living with this. I have for almost 3 years now. I take every vitamin under the sun to make sure I'm getting enough nutrients in my body along with very high doses of HCL with my meals. The actual percentage of cancers they mention on websites from studies appear very very low in comparison to people with this disorder. You are reading the hype of the drama-media and letting it scare you.
Avatar f tn I also probably should have mentioned that we have a family history of stomach cancer and stomach ulcers, which is also what got me to thinking this. My diet, when I do manage to get it down, is good - no worries there. I do not smoke, and drink alcohol occasionally. My specialist told me about an endoscopy but he said he didn't think I needed one, so instead, told me to wait. Do you really think it's worthwhile going back?
Avatar f tn Pain always in the same two spots. Worried about stomach cancer because it has gone untreated until now, for like 5 years.
Avatar f tn suddnly they found cancer in his lymh nodes and ssaid that it had to have been somewhere else first i honestly believe that it was stomach cancer or throat cancer from the h-pyloi this scares me as i still have no ins.
Avatar n tn That's hard to answer. At your age stomach cancer is INCREDIBLY rare. Just try to get it out of your mind.
Avatar f tn Her mom did have breast cancer but her mom tested negative for that BRCA gene thing. I know ovarian cancer is rare in itself and pretty rare under 40. Just want to be pro active. Any advice would be appreciated!
414018 tn?1268611672 m not under 30 anymore but I was 34 when dx... a great place to connect with young cancer patients (under 40) is Planet Cancer (www.myplanet.planetcancer.org) or I'm Too Young For This! (www.i2y.com). Both are non-cancer-specific but there are groups for each diagnosis. I'm not old, just experienced. Sorry to have to meet you like this!
Avatar f tn she said when he put it in she woke up 3 times (she was only sedated) and saw him jamming it into her stomach. they took that one out and put a bigger one in so it would wrap under she said the same thing is happening and is in agony and hurts to cough as she has a bad cold right now. sometimes the pain is so bad when she isn't coughing that she is curled right into a ball so it won't jabbed her.
Avatar n tn Hi, my mother has been diagnose with ovarian cancer (stage III) about 10 months ago. she has her ovaries, and uterus removed. after the surgery she went straight to chemo treatment with paclitaxel and carboplatine. She has completed her 6th cycle in December 2008. Her latest CA 125 is about 40 (the marker went down to below 30 after the treatment, however it goes up to 40 when she did her blood test in Jan 09).
Avatar f tn The symptoms are more likely to be melanoma or skin cancer. The family history of cancer is a risk factor and you are above 40 yo, and a sun lover are also a risk factor. But GOOD NEWS are they sounds like at an early stage of melanoma, probably carcinoma in-situ(stage 0).highly curable. No chemo or other treatments are needed. Only need to be cut off. BUT YOU REALLY NEED TO BE QUICK in case the melanoma is very invasive that it could invade tissues under the skin and spreads.

Avatar f tn I had a bad flair up last night and today seems like my insides are so sore it hurts to move. I am scared to death that it could be stomach cancer. Has anybody had any symptoms like this? Please help!!
Avatar n tn My Mom is 66 and was diag in Feb 08 with stage 3C Ovarian Cancer. She had surgery and did chemo of Taxol and Carboplatin. She has been sick ever since! She got Rhumatoid Arthritis very bad from it ..then Pnumonia..then her stomach just hurt and hurt and she could not eat. Her GI doctor said it was Narcotic Bowl Syndrome from her Fentanyl patch of 25 mic. She had 6 trips in and out of the hospital (since Feb 09). Finally last week her CA 125 was 262 and they could not do a colonoscopy..
Avatar m tn How much time colitis takes to heal.Is there chance of stomach cancer? How to detect.
Avatar f tn I found a lump under the skin of my rabbit's stomach about three months ago (close to his right hind leg), I can move it freely, it is pretty hard to the touch and is the size of a grape. I went to the vet and she said I should check it regularly to see if it increased in size (it didn't). The problem is that today I was checking him and I noticed another lump right next to the other one, about half the size.
Avatar m tn i have been having stomach pain, vomiting, pain under my rib cage, and weak.i have been to the er and a gl doctor and still i have no answer. And i was also give Nexium 40 mg,bt i was never told anything else....just sent a bill.if you can have anymore info.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the quick reply. I actually went to a new GE this morning (don't want to wait another week) and am now scheduled for a colonoscopy this Thursday, so I guess that will give me a definitive answer. The GE didn't seem too worried about colon cancer -- but this was based only on my age (29), it seems. So that didn't really put me at ease, given how many people under 40 I've read about who get this.
506981 tn?1223185396 My mother had cancer in prolific antrum and under went surgey on december 2007 and found that extended stage to gall blader, pancreas and limb node. She had under gone chemotherapy of 3 months course. Now she suffered with jaundice, and the report says biliary duct block and bilurubin level is 10.8. Avatar n tn Three days ago a went under a GI upper procedure. Dr said I have gastritis and he found a polyp that it was removed. Unfourtunately because I was under the effects of the anesthitia , I do not remember very clear what he told me. My companion said that the dr said that the polyp was not cancerous, but still he sent it to the lab, it will take seven days to get the results and i am very scare, I have never heard about stomach polyps. Does any one can let me know if i should be so concern.
Avatar n tn I'm no doctor (but married to one hehe!) Since I'm scared of cancer myself, I always think stuff like that is cancer, but my wife advised me that cancer rarely hurts. If you're not having any other significant symptoms, I'd say hernia probably. (I don't think fat deposits that big (or rigid) form in that area.) So I'd say hernia is most likely. Especially since you lift very heavy weights.
Avatar m tn ve had two colonscopies since age 50, my first colonoscopy found a pre-cancerous polyp (had a more dangerous figure, I was told) along with other benign polyps that was which was removed (had no side effects after) I did a follow up colonscopy the year after and another pre-cancerous polyp (except to a lesser degree) was found and removed along with other benign polyps around the same area, the 2nd colonoscopy from a different surgeon I had a lot of stomach pain after.
Avatar n tn They did tell us that the polyps are not the kind that cause cancer. However he has a family history of cancer, mom dad and brother have all died from cancer. There are so many of the polyps that cover the entire stomach, the surgeon and gastroenterologist both feel it would be to dangerous for his to have the total stomach removed. He is having a hard time eating because not matter how little or how much he feels nausea and full, he is tired all the time and is anemic off and on.
Avatar m tn This week I was given the bad news that I had Esophageal Cancer, squamous cell carcinoma. I am 54 year old male that was a pack a day smoker for almost 40 years. It started a couple of months ago. I couldn't swallow anything, I would try and dislodge food that was stuck down my throat with water. But this would work and sometimes not. It's more of a discomfort than pain. I got myself to the emergency at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa.
Avatar n tn A related discussion, <a href="/posts/Gastroenterology/Pain-under--shoulder-blade/show/2517348">Pain under shoulder blade.</a> was started.
Avatar f tn i have been having a sharp pain under my left breast for some time now and i really don't know what it could be do you have any information on that or should i just go and see the doctor.
Avatar n tn Not necessarily. Stomach cancer can often have negative blood work (except you may be anemic). However it is much much more likely that you have something like an ulcer causing the black specks. Stomach cancer is very rare! How old are you?
