Avatar f tn I do not believe that anyone - including your doc - could correctly comment on whether or not you have anything to worry about until you get the biopsy report back. Many people have polyps, some come from a familial condition, some seem to result from the ingestion of PPIs, while other do arise because a person is unfortunately developing a precancerous or cancerous condition. So as hard as it is to wait, that's really the best option.
Avatar n tn Vague but persistent gastrointestinal complaints such as gas, nausea, indigestion. Frequency and/or urgency of urination. Any unexplained change in bowel habits. Abnormal postmenopausal bleeding. Weight gain or loss. Abdominal swelling and/or pain; bloating and/or a feeling of fullness. Pain during intercourse. If vague symptoms persist longer than 4-6 weeks, insist on a thorough rectovaginal examination.
Avatar n tn I'm no doctor (but married to one hehe!) Since I'm scared of cancer myself, I always think stuff like that is cancer, but my wife advised me that cancer rarely hurts. If you're not having any other significant symptoms, I'd say hernia probably. (I don't think fat deposits that big (or rigid) form in that area.) So I'd say hernia is most likely. Especially since you lift very heavy weights.
Avatar m tn With 17 I underwent Billroth 1 surgery which is a partly resection of the stomach. Like tumor/cancer surgery just without having had a tumor. The surgery needed to be done otherwise my stomach would have perforrated. I'm sorry for my vocabulary and grammar - I'm not a native speaker. I'm from Germany.
Avatar n tn My best friend has been battling ovarian cancer for over 3 years. She is on her second round of chem. Lately she has the feeling that her stomach is full. This seems to be strongest right after chemo and ther feeling goes away after about 1 1/12 weeks. Is this a sign that the stomach is filling with fluid and that she is getting worst? Her doctors says there is nothing there thanks!
Avatar f tn I have a lump, left side of stomach just below rib cage. Not Painfull, but uncomfortable and growing. Hernia has been ruled out. No bowel changes, no vomiting, but sense of fullness and increassed gas . Occas.. "locks "into position when laying down. Have CAT scan scheduled in approx. 60 days. Onset was sudden (or only noticed by me-meaning no recall of growth or injury). Present approx 6 months but larger than when originally noticed). Would appreciate thoughts/concerns etc.
Avatar f tn I also probably should have mentioned that we have a family history of stomach cancer and stomach ulcers, which is also what got me to thinking this. My diet, when I do manage to get it down, is good - no worries there. I do not smoke, and drink alcohol occasionally. My specialist told me about an endoscopy but he said he didn't think I needed one, so instead, told me to wait. Do you really think it's worthwhile going back?
Avatar f tn if i have metastic cancer in the sm bowel do i leave it alone slow growing?, live and let live? cause if my ovary is also pre cancer or cancer that is wildfire, so my colon and rectum and stomach are clean thus far is it safe to open me up ? for a resection? cause i dont' want chemo or radiation if its only pallatiive? not sure just need some senarios? i'm divorced single and gotta make some preparations but need time, months not weeks?
Avatar f tn Now after an endoscopy and colonoscopy he doctor discovery cancer cells behind the molecules of my stomach and rectum. There are parts with nothing but they are there at these sites. I made 2pet scans and 2 cat scans and they were negative. My blood is perfect and I had this terrible result from biopsy. They say that the cells are hiden and do not appear at the scans.I wil start chemo this week . Is that normal? how common something like this happens?Did you had cases like that?
Avatar m tn My very loud stomach noises were food and air trying to get around my colon cancer tumor.
Avatar f tn This is why the diagnosis of liver cancer depends so much on the vigilance of the physician screening with a tumor marker (alpha-fetoprotein) in the blood and radiological imaging studies. Since most patients with liver cancer have associated liver disease (cirrhosis), their liver blood tests may not be normal to begin with. If these blood tests become abnormal or worsen due to liver cancer, this usually signifies extensive cancerous involvement of the liver.
Avatar f tn 29 has supplanted CA 15-3 as the preferred tumor marker in breast cancer. It also lacks predictive value in the earliest stages of breast cancer and thus has no role in screening for or diagnosing the malignancy. It is advised to measure CA 27.29 level every 4 to 6 months after primary treatment. You can read more about this through this link: (http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030915/1075.html) " I'm sure your doctor has reasons for preferring CA 15-3.
Avatar m tn Her heart is 30% working (LVEF = 30%). She has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer recently. Tumor is big around 16CmX11CmX12Cm. CA-125 is 5874. Heart specialist did not advise her to go for surgery and told there are risk factors with chemo as well. What should we do? Go for Chemo? Will it have any positive impact or will it create more problems? We have done ultrasound and CA125 within a period of 20 days. Size of tumor is same and value of CA125 is also more or less same. Please suggest.
Avatar f tn The mass was a tumor and calcified, and had three separate cancers. There is a small nodule on my left thyroid and she plans on just removing the nodule, in two more months. When she was operating last week, she said she glanced at the lymph nodes and they didn't look like they were affected, but she would check them when she operates again. I'm a 47 years old female.
Avatar m tn I am curious if the stomach growl is a common symptom. I have been cancer free for 6 years. The tumor was a papilloma but large. The doctor thought he got it all. I have been feeling like s##t for awhile and don't see a regular doctor as often as I should. I have had bad luck finding one I could trust as being competant and effective for my personal needs. I am trying a new one with the hope that he is competant. My last liver biopsy was 9 yrs. ago andthe Dr.
Avatar f tn Hi, Dr. Goodman. I have written questions in the past about my mother who has already been treated with the standard treatment, Doxil + Carbo, Gemzar + Carbo, Taxol Alone, and Carboplatin+5FU. She was to begin treatment with Avastin+Cytoxan, however a gastroscope revealed an ulcer in her duodenum and her doctor is reluctant to go forward with the Avastin. The doctor is now contemplating Taxol + Iressa.
Avatar m tn My father was admitted to the ER on friday with an acute pancreatitis, it was all well until further tests revealed a mass in his stomach or pancreas. After sleepless nights we finally got the MRI results back, he has 7 apparent tumors, one even being 17 cm long, also in liver and kidney. The first doctor gave us a grim prognosis, practically assuring he had days to live. A family friend who had a similar situation said "thats what metastasis looks like, it happened to my father".
Avatar n tn My 49 year old SIL has ovarian cancer. She had early stage breast cancer last year, tested + for BRCA 2 and they found the ovarian cancer during a routine PET scan. She's had a full hysterectomy and has just started 2 types of chemo. I know that one is through a port in her chest and the other will be through her stomach and she'll be hospitalized for that one. Her CA-125 was 3748 at the time of surgery.
Avatar n tn Others include cancers of the pancreas, stomach, breast, lung, and certain types of thyroid and ovarian cancer. Ask your doctor about the having a CEA blood test done. Don't know if it will be a reliable marker for you but it was for me. Whether or not you should have your other ovary removed it a question best discussed with you doctor.
Avatar f tn It all started a month ago when I had a sudden onset of a terrible period, bloating in both upper and lower abdomen, and this gurgly feeling in my stomach. Like upper abdomen. And it's like that feeling when you're stomach is about to growl but doesn't and just keeps going and going. The feeling comes and goes now. I went to urgent care and the doctor wasn't worried at all. Just told me I could have IBS since I have high anxiety and this feeling.
Avatar f tn Is this ovarian cancer or gastric cancer that has spread? Meaning the tumor in her ovaries is the same kind of tumor that was involved in her gastric cancer and not the type typically found in ovarian cancer? Does that make sense? Regardless, it sounds like her cancer is aggressive. It's unfortunate that the doctors are not agreeing or conferring and giving mixed messages putting you in a position of feeling like you have to choose yourself.
Avatar m tn Recently, my 50 year old mother had called me and told me that she had a 1.6cm tumor on her liver and a tumor in her stomach (according to my aunt, the stomach one is more of a "shadow" or an "echo" but my mom is convinced it is a tumor). I had just found out that the 1.6 tumor was the biggest one in the liver and that there were some smaller liver lesions as well. I've been quite frankly freaking out that it may be stomach cancer with mets to the liver or liver cancer.
414018 tn?1268611672 Dear Melenzbee, It is quite possible that a complete surgical removal of the ovaries and uterus will cure this borderline tumor. It is unclear if the borderline tumor changes to an invasive cancer or if women who have borderline tumors have a greater risk for invasive ovarian cancer 20 years later. I suspect the latter. It would be interesting to see if an antiestrogen like tamoxifen made those spots go away. As borderline tumors are very slow growing, i do not see a downside to trying it.
Avatar f tn ( i hope this is not cancer i still pain more than a month i am scared to have a operation again i don't have history in my family cancer or tumor even cyst :( someone same with my symptoms i hope not tumor or cancer..
