Im 3-4 weeks pregnant and have had tummy ache all afternoon an evening, its high up in my stomach like near my belly button area an across my stomach. Its not a severe pain just a hurts and aches. Should I be concerned?
My 3 year old daughter has had a off & on stomach ache for just a little over 2 weeks now. I took her to the pediatrician on Friday 7-14-06 & she said she thought it was acid reflux & gave samples of prevacid. She said we should see improvement in 3-4 days & I could also give her pepto if she still hurts later in day after prevacid. We have seen no improvement & last night I had to give her the pepto. I don't feel I should be giving her both of these meds everyday.
My bowel movements are relatively fine however the stomach ache is characterized by pains on the sides and the insides of the stomach ache (not behind the belly) and near the lower abdomen. It lasts approximately 24 hours and goes away on its own. My mouth dries up and I try to drink water but I get an urge to vomit any water I drink during the period. It's just annoying really. The pain on a scale of 1-10 ranges from 4-7.
I saved my ex's life by recognizing his tummy ache was appendicitis. It started out near his belly button. It was bothersome. Gas pills and lying down had no effect. The pain moved to his right lower quadrant, so I took him to the ER after calling my surgeon to meet us there. This all took about 4 hours, and it was gangrenous appendicitis, so very serious. Most tummy aches are related to gas, constipation, or acidity/GERD in my experience.
I have just gone to the hospital again for the pain behind my bellybutton and since all the surgerys its still happening they looked up all my charts and found that I had a hernia near my belly button for 2 years now I asked them why didnt they tell me and they told me that it looked to small to be that painful, so now I am going back to get another ct and check it out then they said another surgery might be necessary I almost fainted, the last surgery was hell for me because I am pain tollerant
Also, try pushing where it hurts and ask her if it hurts more when you push or when you release. On release can be appendix... Is it near her belly button? Which side? Also, have her sit on a stool (or something bar stool height -- kitchen counter) and jump off. Does it hurt her stomach then? Those are the couple of tests my ped did when he suspected appendix with my DD, but wasn't her appendix. Once again, it may be something minor, but only a doctor can diagnose...good luck.
having stomach pain on right side of belly button .feels like slight bee sting.
Just a month ago she started complaining about stomach pain around her belly button. She only complains when she's really in pain. She also loves school and have been missing a lot of school because of the pain. At first it started out happening about every few days then it got more and more and now it was happening constantly. She said that she was always in pain but at times it would hurt very badly. It seemed to be morning and night and everytime she ate food.
Ok, so I've been putting up with on again, off again itching for months on my labia, near my vaginal opening. Never "diagnosed" with HPV but I did get rid of a suspected wart this past year. Can you have a bacterial infection without discharge? It drives me CRAZY sometimes, the only thing that calms it is gold bond ointment, which is minty and refreshing but I'd like no itch. No "rash" that I can see, unless I give in and scratch.
A couple of months ago after a particularly uncomfortable episode during which the mass was painful and appeared to be protruding through the abdominal wall near my belly button it dawned on me that it might be a hernia. Off I went to the doctor again. This time he felt the mass. He said not to worry. A few weeks later I went back -- still worried. He agreed to order an ultrasound to "set my mind at ease".
If and when it gets a certain size operation will be needed, which there is a new procedure of a littl insion in the belly below the belly button. Aortic aneurysm can be dangerous because there is very little warning when it erupts. My doctor told me if I get a back ache that sends me to my knees, get to ER fast because there will will be very little time. I had a friend who's erupted right on the operating table for another issue. Be safe rather than sorry - have it checked out.
Just want to say that I too had extreamly severe bad pain on my stomach near the belly button area.... I would get into fetal position. only thing keeping me going was the pain meds, but that was only hidding the problem. After going to several doctors and specialist, I ended up going back to the surgeon who performed the gastric bypass who was able to give me a diagnosis in less than 3 minutes. I had a STRANGULATED INTESTINAL HERNIA (which is very common after gastric bypass surgery).
They feel as if a little man is located directly below my belly button frantically jabbing a bare-ended electrical wire into the walls of my intestines resulting in a constant stream of short sparks of pain. This again raises the same question for me as the original problem: by what mechanism are these kidney issues transferred to cause pain in the stomach/groin area? Thanks for any info you can provide.
But another thing to add is that I keep getting these twitches ( a bit like when you have a trapped nerve but heavier) in my stomach close to my belly button. I also woke up last night and my genital area seemed really sore although it was perfectly fine when I went to sleep. I'll see how it goes Thanks again for your comments, keep posting.
I am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant (according to my fertility drug cycle, my lack of period and my positive home test but still to be confirmed officially by my obgyn tomorrow) and I have started noticing today that my abs are killing me. It litterally feels like I did a crazy workout yesterday and 1,000 curls on my upper, lower and oblique abs!
I've been experiencing this fluttering in my lower left side stomach, maybe three inches tot he left of my belly button. The same place!! I noticed if I drank a slurpee (col) it would act up like crazy, every few min... It's such a trip... it's like something alive is moving around and fluttering and reacting to outer activities... after reading all this I don't see or hear any answers!?!?! I'm going to talk to a doctor shortly and make sure I return to share anything i find...
I have had a lower right abdominal pain above the hip for 5 days now and it started with a lower stabbing pain that was very painful and then became a dull ache and it was painful to say the least. The next day I just had the dull ache on the lower area of the stomach near the hip but also started hurting next to the navel and also I felt very hot and cold and also had no appetite. The pain seems to be worse when I am standing up and moving around and hasn't got any better.
Discomfort, pain in the upper abdomen, just above of the belly button. Tiredness, fatigue, bloating, gas and just a feeling like something is pressing on your upper abdomen. Keep in touch and again I hope you get better.
The doctor did say it properly isn't the best thing to use but its worked for 5 wks so i'm gonna continue use it. I still get slight stomach ache and feel a bit odd when i have a bowl movement but nothing like before.
As long as the pain isn't so bad you just want to cry and more of an uncomfortable ache then I wouldn't worry to much. Is it near your belly button? Or ribs? Are you drinking enough water, being dehydrated makes false contractions worse and your far enough along where you can start having them. Sorry if tmi but it could be digestive issues, If so I suggest sunnyD it works wonders and its cheap.

The main symptom of appendicitis is belly pain. Many people feel the first pain near the belly button. Then it moves to the lower right side of the belly. But the pain can be in different parts of your belly or even on your side or back. The pain may get worse if you move, walk, or cough. You may also have a fever or feel sick to your stomach. Let us know how he makes out okay?
I can at times feel little stomach pains right in the middle on top of the belly but it goes away. I can feel a dull ache on my appendix going almost to the right side of the hip, close to kidney but no pain there. I have seen a GI doctor in September and based on what I told him he believes I have IBS which made sense to me.

I go through bouts of pain like someone kicked me in the stomach 3 inches above belly button extending over upper right side near liver and down my right side. It makes my right side of back ache and its hard for me to eat. I am hungry but eating just a nibble of something makes the kicked in stomach feeling even more intense. I feared it may have been my liver. Went to er and dr only ran blood work to determine if it was hepititis or other liver problems. Come back completely normal.
