Avatar f tn I been having contractions since Tuesday. There starting to get more painful and closer too. I'm 36w3d, don't want to have him yet. It's too early for me I think. Hope you feel better as well.
Avatar n tn Yes is better if you go into labor on your own than getting induce...
1057060 tn?1266513126 t say it was a problem to check your own cervix but she said mine was in fact open..what they call qtip dilation which means that she can't quite get a whole finger in which is exactly what i thought. she said it might carry a small risk of premature delivery but unless my contractions get worse i should be okay..im very glad i decided to go in! i wont be doing anymore cervix checks...but not because of infection..i washed my hands really well with antibacterial soap before i checked...
Avatar f tn I was suppose to be induced Tuesday and was hurting all day starting around 11 and went in at 530 because I started bleeding.. Come to find out I was in labor and they didn't have to induce me. He came all on his own... Was born at 136 in the morning so I'd say I was in labor for 14 hours...
8835615 tn?1410091411 Everyone is different! I got induced last Friday and it definitely was NOT a piece of cake. My body did not like being forced into labor. I stopped dilating at 5 cm and had to get a c section. The worst part was I couldn't get up to walk around. I was stuck in bed with an iv.
Avatar f tn I am 41 weeks on Friday and supposed to get induced Friday if my baby isn't born by then. I got my membranes stripped and was dilated to 4 cm yesterday morning at my appt. I went to L&D last night because I kept having contractions that were 6 min apart but sent me home. I keep having the diarrhea (sorry tmi) and the crampy feelings and I keep having blood tinged discharge. Does this sound like labor might be starting soon on its own?
Avatar n tn At how many days after your delivery did your husband leave you on your own and went back to work?
Avatar f tn Ok, number one...Generally speaking you can feel your own cervix and you have every right to seeing as it's your body. However, I wouldn't for a few reasons. Obviously you're not going to stick a filthy hand up there, but there is latent bacteria underneath fingernails and the like. Since you're 32/33 weeks, I mean...unless.you're having signs of impending labor-there really isn't a pressing need to know if.you're dilated or not. IF you are dilated...
Avatar f tn At the end of pregnancy, when the baby drops down into the pelvis, the baby’s head puts pressure on the cervix. This constant pressure causes your body to release oxytocin, which is the hormone that causes contractions. The contractions push the baby even farther down onto the cervix, which causes it to dilate, which causes more contractions and so on…. It’s the combination of hormones and pressure from the baby’s head that cause cervix dilation.
Avatar f tn i was 38 weeks and 4 days very surprised she came on her own contractions woke me up at one thirty am and had her by six fifty
2196020 tn?1348441383 Checking your own cervix isn't a good idea.. it can introduce bacteria and infection to yourself. Personally I would wait for my Dr to check me.
Avatar f tn t want to scare you but you are in a really serious situation. I would in some way document that your doctor is on notice of your insurance situation and is refusing you treatment that would keep you out of a serious medical situation. NO ethical doctor regardless of a bill with his office or not should force you into this situation - they take an oath "do no harm". I can't believe he won't help you.
1523981 tn?1311318595 I got woke up now with back spasms so I'm sitting up with a heating pad on only been up 15 min and contractions started back up
435762 tn?1244682620 That's great, Whitlack! Congratulations! I've got 3 more days until my due date. I'm hoping I go early, too! Glad you were able to go on your own. I'm trying to steer clear of interventions and just let it happen naturally this time. I'm glad you had a good experience with epidural. I've heard such horror stories. Enjoy!
5724951 tn?1392422353 ve been having pretty strong but inconsistent contractions and cramping in my pelvic region and back. I was in the hospital at 31w contracting and I went from not dilated to almost a 2 in the 4 days I was there. They also gave me pills to stop the contractions shots for the baby's lungs and magnesium for his brain. My doctors doesn't really like you to call unless it's like an emergency so I'm not sure if I should. Anyone deal with anything similar? I don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn First time mom and 39 weeks. All last night I had cramps that felt like I'm on my period. My back was hurting so much towards the bottom I was almost in tears. I kept having off and on contraction's but they are hard to time because my daughter still moves her hands and arms a lot, so I can't tell if it's just her moving. Are cramps normal? And does this mean I may go onto labor soon? I have already lost my muscus plug. I'm tired and not sure how much more I can take.
Avatar f tn I hope so....this is my second child with my first my water broke on its own quite a bit of it came out at a time but within the last 3 hrs I've changed my panties twice cuz I keep having wet spots (tmi) but I read online you can have a slow leak but that slow??
Avatar f tn Oh yes that's how I feel each day I wake up pregnant & so close to be scheduled to deliver...all my other 3 kids came on their own...not my fourth!!! It will soon be over just continue to hang in there.
Avatar m tn Tons of water, EmergenC power drink, eat as much as you can, get protein shakes to up your calories and nutrition. Like mentioned above above, keep moving. Occupy your mind on an activity or post here. Try not to sit and analyze how you feel or when it will change . Surrender to it and trust it will improve.
