Give this another couple of days to improve and if it doesn’t you should be reexamined and your nose and throat cultured for strep and staph.
Avatar f tn s the normal job of lymph nodes to swell to fight an infection as immune cells multiply inside. They should go down, but might not if scarring (aka fibrosis) builds up inside. Or you might be getting reinfected. But there's no reason to think it is lymphoma, unless they get very large. Lymphoma would be among the least likely causes of your symptoms, I wouldn't worry about lymphoma from what you are experiencing..
Avatar f tn They took a culture of my ear and found there was an staph infection in both ears and stated that because of the staph infection was the reason why my lymph nodes in the neck were swollen as well as the one under my chin on the left side. I took the ear drops for 4 times a day for 10 days and I still have the swollen nodes in my neck and under my chin, but just on the left side. I have been drinking green tea and lots of water to help for about 2 weeks now, but the swelling is still there.

Avatar f tn About 1 week ago, started developing rash like pimply mark on right side of forehead followed by 3 swollen lymph nodes in neck, right side. Went to the nurse, she told me to change my earrings- didn't help. Next few days, started getting right sided migraines, extreme fatigue, eye pain(right side) and a general lack of appetite, also it was like my eyes moved slowly & I was sometimes disoriented. Went to doctor they told me "your body is working" and gave me ibuprofen.

Avatar n tn hmmmmm..... usually your lymph nodes swell when there is a an infection of some sort. I would recommend that he see a doctor and have a swab done. It sounds like he needs to get checked out by a doctor, im sure he would respect you for wanting to use a condom or wait for the test results to come back. Keep in mind that many std's can be spread by skin contact on exposed areas not protected by the condom.
Avatar n tn I have swollen glands in my lymph nodes and its hard to swallow. Went to the doctors and I don't have drainage or strep. temp 99.4 and whole body hurts. I had staph infection three weeks ago.
Avatar f tn All the steroids seemed to do was artificially raise my counts temporarily and lead me to getting a rare staph infection called staphylococcus lugdunensis in my right inguinal lymph node 2 weeks after being on them. Now having the Staph infection my bloodstream it's causing more misdiagnoses, as my whole CBC is in normal limit due to the infection except an RDW of 15.2 (H) These were my lab results on June 22nd which are the only accurate results considering everything now is WBC 2.
Avatar m tn After the infection about 2 months later maybe 3 i got a staph infection on both legs, a varicose vein, and staph infection on finger.. kinda all over my body it seemed a little bit.. but saying that i have permenent lymph nodes in my elbow as well as groin and armpits soooo i dont think its all in my head.
Avatar m tn Went to the hospital, had X-rays done of my upper chest and everything was normal. During this time, my lymph nodes were beginning to swell in my neck. The strep test all came back negative and so did one mono test, however the result of the other mono test was lost so I could have possibly had it. In july, i was still in recovery mode taking it easy, and building my strength back up. I gained twenty pounds from eating a lot since i lost fifteen when i was sick.
1629118 tn?1299613130 Typically it's an indication that your body is fighting infection, swollen lymph nodes. Most likely this would also occur in neck and inner thighs as well, but you do not report this. Breast cancer is an obvious worry due to the location and size. However, it could be something simply related to your period. Breast cysts are very common in women and tend to inflame around the time of your period; though one would expect these to occur symmetrically in both breasts.
Avatar m tn They are pea-sized or smaller and there are probably 4-6 under each armpit. I am guessing these may be lymph nodes, but I have been able to feel them there for a fairly long time. I use to have sebaceous cysts so I took accutane a few years ago and that cleared up most of my cysts and acne, but I now get cysts on the right side of my neck. I have 2 right now that are probably 3-5cm and movable, but painless. Not sure if these are related to my armpit bumps or not.
Avatar f tn I just had an EBUS procedure which showed no cancer cells in that node and other samples taken from other nodes, lining of lung, and 1 broncial tube. The only thing that showed up was a staph infection causing bronchitis. That is being treated with antibiotics. What could be the reasons for the hot spot? The doctors are trying to decide what to do with me next. If the 1 node had been malignant, they were going to start chemo and radiation. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Hello, This kind of bump can be a swollen lymph node,a sebaceous cyst or a boil. Lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes) is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection along with other numerous causes.Treatment is usually cold compresses, over the counter anti-inflammatory analgesics(pain killers) like acetaminophen or ibuprofen, antibiotics if cause of infection is suspected to be a bacteria and surgical drainage if there is any abscess formation.

Avatar f tn The tattoo gets pretty itchy if I rub it accidentally now. However no other symptoms, no pain. Noticed slightly swollen lymph nodes next day. 3. 3 days ago I got a sudden fever, along with chills off and on, swollen lymph nodes. No other symptoms or pain. No change in tattoo. 4. 3 days ago I talked to a doctor and a tattoo artist. The artist said it might be an allergic reaction or staph. I showed the doctor the tattoo and he said probably staph, and I was given antibotics.
Avatar n tn I agree with the other comments. It probably is a staph infection. a hot compress or ointment may help. But since it is under your arm I would see a doctor as there are lymph nodes under the arm and if it breaks open it may spread the infection. Best to err on the side of caution here. I wouldn't lance it because it is in the area of the lymph nodes and I would see the doctor first. They can decide whether or not to lance it.
Avatar m tn So I have that which is very uncomftrable and sensitive, and I also have swollen lymph nodes on both ends on my pubic bone. I first thought I had a hernia but the doctor told me it was just a lymph node and it would go away, but it is starting to hurt more. When I went to the doctor (at this time no rash was on my hip or anything) I mentioned my sensitive skin, but during that time it felt as if it was getting better, so I did not make a big deal out of it, but when I got home I was wrong.
Avatar f tn Right before they released him (he had been fever free 24 hrs) they got the blood test results back for the Cat Scratch Fever and his exposure levels were very elevated which I guess meant he had a recent exposure to the bacteria found on some cats/kittens claws. His lymph nodes may never be 100% again so any infection could cause this issue again.
Avatar m tn Hi all, So I had oral sex with a guy (we did it on each other) and two days after that I started having sore throat, low fever for a day and pain when urinating. I went to the doctor's and got tested for all STDs, including a swab test for oral gonorrhea. The doctor said the pain when urinating looked most likely like urinal tract infection due to chlamydia and I got prescribed azithromycin.
