Avatar n tn I have seen doctors but they do not realize that problem is coming back pretty often. I just want to get more information on how folliculitis is treated if it keeps coming back. Antibacterial ointment was not an answer to my problem and did not stop me from getting the same infection.
Avatar n tn He has had boils in the surrounding area in the past and it looked very different then what keeps coming back on his cheek. We tried the hot compresses to his cheek, however, the last time we did this, it really seemed to aggravate the area. We will definitely get him an appointment so that they can check out his blood sugar levels (does this relate to diabetes? He does not have diabetes but it does run in his immediate family) We will also bring to the doctors attention about doing a culture.
Avatar f tn I take some probiotics for vaginal health so hopefully that should help, but I don’t know what else to do until I go to my appointment. It keeps coming back and I don’t know if I’m stuck with this or it’ll just completely go away. I just want to know what it is and what I could before my appointment so it isn’t as painful.
Avatar n tn I had a break out in my mouth last week and by Friday I had a sore on the bottom of my foot that woke me up because of the pain shooting up my leg. Went to doctor and he thinks it is a staph infection put me on antibodic and gave me a shot. Told me if it got worse to go to hospital. I have had these same sores for over 8 years and repeated upper respiratory infections.
Avatar f tn after being on medication for the last 2 years, i am still not cured and am actually being told that my cultures are coming back negative for staph. the antibiotics seem to slow the symptoms down, but a month or two after...sometimes only a week or two after...it comes back and is usually worse than before. i have posted a few photos in my profile..and was wondering if you had any idea what i'm dealing with... thank you for your time!
Avatar m tn Hello, Possibly your son may have a carrier status for staph aureus and possibly getting auto-infection.Common colonization areas include the anterior nares of the nose, axilla and groin. A culture from nose may conform this. Treatment of nasal area with mupurocin, hand sanitizers to prevent transmission from nose to hand help to avoid recurrent infections.Nose picking is to be avoided if he has the habit.
Avatar n tn Hi! I have been to the dermatologist a few times. When I first came to him and showed him the spots he directly assumed that it's tinea and then gave me batrafen which is a prescription anti-fungal cream. He also scraped off skin and tested it and it was indeed tinea.
Avatar m tn Then after that the boils kept returned and I did some research on the internet and was pretty with it was a staph infection, then I got tested by the doctors and while they were kinda vague, was apparently a staph infection in my nose. That was almost a year ago, though I've had several minor boils since then. Now my left nostril is swelling up and has become very painful, red & sore.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have some kind of infection. If you come back negative for pink eye, ask for a staph/strep culture. I had conjunctivitis due to staph and 3 eye dr's treated me for a typical pink eye infection which only seemed to make it worse. Infections of the eye are not to be taken lightly. I have permanent damage to my tear ducts and have chronic dry eye and discharge due to a delay in diagnosis/treatment.
Avatar n tn Sounds like the pus is starting to come out. But if you pick a staph infection it isn't like a pimple it will spread the infection. Try not to touch it. Wash you hands often and use clean towels. You may want to go back to the doctor since you opened it up. If it isn't getting better they may need to change the antibiotic.
Avatar m tn I don't know why bacterial vaginosis keeps coming back. I've had it since I was a teenager i.e before I was sexually active and it appears very often (mostly after my period has finished). I maintain good hygiene, wear cotton underwear and don't change partners but it just reappears all the time. I would be very thankful if you share some advice and I also want to ask if using antibacterial wet wipes might have been the problem this time.
Avatar f tn Is it Staph epidermidis or Staph aureus. Ask them about that too. If staph epi then it is just normal bacteria and doesn't need treatment if Staph aureus it depends on how much you have of it. If only a few bacteria then they may not treat it but if you have a lot then they will give you an antibiotic. It depends on how what term you are in in your pregnancy if they can give you antibiotics. But the antifungal is a topcial so it should be okay.
Avatar m tn Hello, Since you are having staph infection, so if your girlfriend has been diagnosed with staph infection then chances are there that the infection got transmitted during physical contact like sexual contact or skin to skin contact. It is very surprising that the infection has not shown much results with antibiotics, In such cases, it is advisable to get the culture sample from the sores and a biopsy skin done which will confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn At first pus-filled blisters developed on my elbow and forearm, it was treated as staph, came back one month later and treated as staph again. Finally lab results revealed it wasn't a bacteria infection, but by that time it was also popping up sporadically on my shin, toes, back, chest and unfortunately even my face. A dermatologist thought it might be bed bug bites, but my husband hasn't had any issues and I've washed our sheets a bunch of times, etc.
Avatar m tn Hi all. I am a 23 year old male that has had these recurring bumps or boils in the buttocks area and no where else on my body for about a year now. The first outbreak was the worst. After that they weren't as severe but they come in clusters at times and make the areas tender. There hasn't been any discharge and no fluid coming out of them. They're just there and painful.
1570504 tn?1295634828 Are you saying she keeps getting staph infections? I take it she's been to the Dr and has taken antibiotics? The best thing to do is keep the area as clean as you can. Staph is infectious so you have to be careful with anyone she comes into physical contact with. It seems that people who get one staph infection are prone to others for some reason.
Avatar n tn My wife has a staph infection she had to be admitted in to the hosp. She's on antibiotics throuh iv. Night she bumped the sore by acceident and puss came out and she is more pain than before is this a good thing that it is draining?
Avatar n tn How do you know it is a rash and not a staph infection? you may want to get have doc take a look at it. Try not to scrach if it isn't infected it may get that way.
Avatar m tn My dermatologist said that I will basically have a staph infection forever and will have to treat is as needed. Is this a proper diagnosis? Why can't I get rid of it? I have already tried antibiotics and other drugs that have helped for a while but it comes back.
Avatar f tn It needs to be treated sooner rather than later, because it keeps coming back until it is treated properly. Certain biotics treat certain germs, and if it is not tested it is like a shot in the dark. I talked to my insurance co. nurse and he advised me to have it swabbed and a blood test taken. Let me know what you find out. Wish you the best.
Avatar m tn I am a female and recently was diagnosed with a staph infection. I took medication, was allergic to it, but the dots seemed to go away. They then came back and the doctors said that I tested negative for a staph infection. I do not know what it is though. They seem like small pimples and are itchy when they first appear on my skin. They started in my crotch region and have occurred in other places such as my butt or arm. I am not sure what it is though.
