Common Questions and Answers about Stages of death with cancer

death

Avatar m tn Please keep in mind that this varies according to the location of the metastisis. I personally know of survivors of many years with mets to the bone. It would also depend on your Mother's general health and what treatment will be prescribed. Another point is that all the lumps you describe in your Mother's breasts may not be cancerous; it would only take one malignant lump to cause the metastisis. Kindest regards ....
Avatar n tn With news like this everyone is scared, and that is fine. Even if you are found to have cancer there are different types of cancer and stages or grades of cancer. A lot of your outcome will depend on the size of the tumor, whether the tumor cells are well differentiated meaning they are slow growing and almost complete in structure or poorly differentiated meaning they are not well organized and grow faster, whether you have positive lymph nodes, perineural invasion, etc.

1084115 tn?1385228589 It would be highly unusual for someone at Stage 3 fibrosis to have spontaneous liver failure. Hepatitis C as an active infection is usually not lethal in and of itself. If someone's death is due to hep c, it is usually due to end-stage liver disease caused by advanced cirrhosis, or the presence of hcc, liver cancer.
Avatar f tn Hi my name is Dawne and I am 48 years old. I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer Stage IV on August 21, 2007. My cancer has mets into my lung. I found out last week that my calcium levels are very high. I also suffer from severe rheumatoid arthritis and osteoperosis. My RA doc wanted me to take reclast for my RA. My cancer doc is concerned that my high calcium levels are indicators of my cancer spreading into my bones. I am having a bone scan on this Thursday coming up.

A few days ago she was also diagnosed with Demodex and is on oral medicine to cure it. I am going into the vet's office on Friday for new blood work / check up. Avatar n tn 7 Any of these things can lead to the cause of death. Patients with IPF can die from heart failure, respiratory failure, or collapsed lungs.
8016255 tn?1396293364 My father died of what was told to us of lung cancer, but he had brain cancer, a heart attack, liver cancer, caused by prostate cancer. I'd simply center on keeping the family in comfort unless you think a crime was committed.
Avatar f tn I think the key is eliminating the cause of what is damaging your liver regardless of whether it is hep c or alcohol or Nash (fatty liver deposits) or whatever else it may be. If the damage has not gone to far, your liver has the ability to regenerate or at least not continue to deteriorate. If you have more then one cause, naturally it will accelerate the damage, that's why not drinking alcohol and not being overweight are so important if you have hep c.
Avatar f tn I'm living it right now and to be honest, I am aware of 5 to 7 steps or stages of the grief process, but they don't matter, because you survive one day at a time ....baby steps, and not time frame, since everyone heals at their own pace. It's been 2 years for me and I do feel better, but I am not yet completely healed...it takes a long time.
Avatar n tn The official stages for breast cancer are Stages 0 through Stage IV, and each stage and subcategory of the stages has clearly defined features. Another breast cancer Website had an article that mentioned Stage V in its title, but not in the article itself. After I pointed out the error to them, they indicated they would make a correction. (They also mentioned that some people "unofficially" talk about Stage V when there is nothing more that can be done except palliative treatment.
Avatar f tn I know I am powerless over everything except living well, taking care of my body and knowing that how I look at things (my perspective on illness, death, cancer or even living) affects EVERYTHING. I hope this helps you with this a little bit. Warmly...
Avatar f tn The docotrs unfortuneately CANNOT tell where they are UNTIL they replant, either in the same location or in new loactions in your body. It is pretty textbook for people with ANY kind of cancer @ the two year mark AFTER "Treatment" that these NEW cancers are discovered. When I asked Oncology HOW will they know, they told me that they have to WAIT to see them in scans/x-rays/CT's ect ect.
Avatar n tn A surprising finding was that a total of fifty-three percent of the patients had thyroid cancer -- many more than the 28% who went into the surgery with a thyroid cancer diagnosis. Even when you exclude the patients who already knew they had thyroid cancer going into the surgery, the prevalence of thyroid cancer in the Hashimoto's patients as still 35.6%.
Avatar f tn Hi, I received good replies back about the 2 different scales that measure the biopsy results. However, are these stages of cirrohsis? I'm not sure I understand this part yet. I am preparing for tx and am quite apprehensive about the whole thing. I stll have to get documentation of contraceptives then I can start tx.They recommended Mirena (IUD) because it involves only 1 hormone. My insurance does not cover it so if I do not want to afford $900.00 I can take the deprovera injection.
Avatar f tn Spot on treatments kill adults and the eggs and it much more effective, safe and the best treatment we have to date. It is also true that good house keeping with plenty of vacuuming is an important part of the overall control of environmental life cycle stages.
1322157 tn?1279656681 It is like a death - the death of your 'normal' life. And then you go through all the stages or mourning: Denial - this can't be my life, there has to be a cure Anger - Why me??!! (or you have anger towards the doctor, the person driving the car who hit you, etc...) Bargaining - I will do ANYTHING to make it better and the pain go away! Depression - Because you realize this is now your life and there is nothing to fix it.
Avatar m tn The older a woman is, the greater her chances of developing breast cancer. Approximately 77% of breast cancer cases occur in women over 50 years of age. According to the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program of the National Cancer Institute: White, Hawaiian, and African-American women have the highest incidence of invasive breast cancer in the United States (approximately four times higher than the lowest group).

Avatar n tn s condition. The good news is, testicular cancer, even in the advanced stages, has an excellent chance of being cured, with proper treatment. Although curative, a possible side effect of the treatment is sterility, and this has to be explained to him before beginning any procedure. Is radiotherapy the only treatment he'll be having? The usual treatment for testicular cancer is surgery and chemotherapy. So I am just wondering why he's receiving radiotherapy for it.
Avatar f tn Liver problems (rarely, liver function worsens) including an increased chance of liver failure in patients with cirrhosis. Patients with both the hepatitis C virus and HIV have an increased chance of liver failure during PEGASYS treatment. Change in a blood test that measures liver inflammation occurs more often in patients with hepatitis B. If you have a rise in this blood test you may need to be watched more closely with additional blood tests.
