death

Avatar n tn I told my mom as she was dying in my arms that it was ok and that I promise to take care of my father (83 yrs old) the way I took good care of her. I told her to go find grandma and grandpa and my dog Toby who also passed. My mother's mother died when she was only 9 yrs. old, so I wanted her to go find grandma. I told her that I would always be with her and when God calls on me, to come get me. With those words my mother died in my arms.
Avatar n tn These can include high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension) caused by compression of blood vessels by scar tissue, or right sided heart failure, due to the heart having to pump harder to circulate blood through the lungs.7 Any of these things can lead to the cause of death. Patients with IPF can die from heart failure, respiratory failure, or collapsed lungs.
Avatar m tn Hi. I have never heard of a doctor saying to someone who is in pain "nothing can be done'. That simply is not true. For people with liver disease there is more risk involved because pain meds pass through the liver and can potentially harm it. If your husband is progressively getting worst instead of waiting 6 months I would seek a second opinion. As I have already mentioned there are a number of things that can be done to improve his symptoms and make him more comfortable.
Avatar n tn Hi I am 19 and I just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant. I don't know what to expect next, when should I go to the doctor, when will I be able to see my baby on a sonogram/ US?
Avatar f tn never been treated and never felt sick except when I initially got it. I am a single mother now.....I am scared to death of the treatments out there yet I am living like a walking dead person....just waiting for my body to suddenly fail. I think I am ready to try something.....

I have been taking lortabs for about nine months now but never any more than four a day. 7.5 mg or 10mg, whatever I could get my hands on. I'm scared to death at what has yet to come. Im a single mother of two and have no other option but to make it through this. Could anyone please tell me how long this will last?
Avatar m tn My mom was diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis in November 2011. She stopped drinking or about 7 months, but since August of 2012, she has been drinking constantly everyday (at least a 12 pack of beer). She hallucinates, her skin gets these "blood spot" type things on her arms, and her stomach looks like she is 9 months pregnant. She always says she hurts and I don't know what to do. As someone who doesn't have a lot of info on this, what can I expect with all of this?
Avatar f tn The other day after more blood work, it was changed to Hep C. What can she expect from having this and of her journey to heal from it? What can I do to best help and suport her through this? It scared me more to learn, it is Hep C, intead of Hep B. I've read that at least 75% of people who have Hep C go into a chronic form of it. That it can lead to debilitating health problems, and in some cases, even death. This is all new to us, and a first for this in our family.
1201072 tn?1289760591 This can occur as part of cirrhosis, and is manageable to some extent with meds. Be sure to mention this to the doctor; they can do a rather easy blood test to confirm this, and act appropriately.
Avatar f tn Whether you recur or not, you will be better at this and many people never get the opportunity to learn that. Enjoy your month to heal and try not to think of the next step, chemo. Do something you enjoy today!
Avatar f tn He is also diagnosed with type II diabetes, heart disease, chronic pancreantisis (no function left to his pancreas). He is only 55. With all of diagnoses what can I expect to see happen to him and what kind of life expectancy might he have? He has been pretty sick for about 3 years now but was just diagnosed with the cirrohisis last year. This has been really hard and I was just wondering what more to expect.
Avatar f tn My husband has always had a problem with drinking since he came out of the service. He is a disabled vet and takes alot of drugs for pain and he stopped drinking about a yr. ago but still takibg pain meds 2 kinds of morpine & and also sleep aids. He's been in and out of the hospital on and of for three yrs. This last time with namonia.
Avatar m tn m wondering what to expect. However, I should note that I plan on taking 2 mg if things were to get extremely bad. Also, I plan to just take 2 mg every three to four days for a week or so then start tapering to say 1 mg every three or four days to hopefully reduce the effects of withdrawal. I have read several posts and people have scared me to death.
Avatar n tn With news like this everyone is scared, and that is fine. Even if you are found to have cancer there are different types of cancer and stages or grades of cancer. A lot of your outcome will depend on the size of the tumor, whether the tumor cells are well differentiated meaning they are slow growing and almost complete in structure or poorly differentiated meaning they are not well organized and grow faster, whether you have positive lymph nodes, perineural invasion, etc.
Avatar f tn If depression levels are dangerous to the point of loss of health, persuade them to go to a doc for medication to balance them out a little. Other than that, just be there.
Avatar n tn for most of her life and now she is dying with hep b. she is in liver failure and i want to know what to expect. I am raising her 14 yr old daughter and i just want to be prepared on what i can expect. has anyone had a family memeber that has been in this same place and if so how long do we have to see her suffer? this is so hard to see her go thru this. if anyone can help me it would be so great .
Avatar n tn Which they did all the testing back in May I have a feeling I got it last Jan. What can I expect from treatment? How long do we ( people with hep) live? is it a painful death? Can we still drink? what about treatment?
Avatar m tn and also is trying to push people away so she can die alone, or drink herself to death. This is not an uncommon response to the news of liver disease. Call it "leaving Las Vegas" syndrome if you like (my coinage)...call it irrational, call it anything you like, but try to learn yourself about the disease, and the psychological responses , and I would also suggest you read up on Interventions. Before someone can take their health seriously they first have to deal with the addictions.
Avatar f tn My son I was induced at 36 weeks cuz he was to little and they told me that it would be better for him to be born than for me to continue to be pregnant. They were right but it was a hard labor cuz my body wasn't close to being ready and I was to stressed but things worked out. It's only hard if you don't know what to expect and if you work yourself up like I had done.
Avatar n tn He has her sign a paper he is the only one to get her medical info and when he gives us info it is never correct always make it sound like she is fine, but we as family see her and know it is not true. What are the stages? I find comfort in reading these posts because I like to understand what is going on and my heart goes out to all who are going through this. God Bless!

Avatar f tn What are the chances of catching HIV with a straight white guy of unknown status. They had been together for about 2 months, and she was sexual activity with different men of all ages. He is a very deceit guy (no use of drugs or homosexual). We had a one night stand back in January which included vaginal sex for about 15 minutes and oral sex. I am extremely worried because I don't know her past history. I am making myself have symptoms and I can't eat or sleep.
Avatar f tn A year and half she was diagnosed with beginning stages of cirrhosis. Now she has the blotchy skin, confusion, high levels of ammonia. At first I thought she had early on set of dementia. The her dr. told her Wednesday that she had hepatic encephalopathy. What should I be expecting the next step to be?
