Sometimes when we'd ask him to squeeze my hand he would, but most of the time he did not. What I know of cirrhosis, is that it is a slow and painful death. My mother died years ago of cancer -- cirrhosis is not so very much different, is it.

And Helen, looks like you and I are going to be on the same timeline! I'm expecting to do the transfer on the 4th or 6th of April too. I hope you're getting your head around the concept of IVF. I remember feeling very much the same as you... I felt sad that it wasn't going to be done naturally. And I felt very strongly about it. But I have to say that in hindsight, I'm not sure why I felt that way. I mean, sure...
The doc wants now to do a partial fusion of the wrist, with excision of the scaphoid and fusing the other 4 bones on the top of the wrist to provide stability. The excision of the scaphoid is said to be the only solution with partial fution of the wrist since I have alredy developed arthritis on the concerned wrist. My current situation is the following: almost no extention or flexion on the wrist; all other movements intact.
The speed of going UND does not necessarily say anything about the eventual death of the infected cell, just that the production of new virions has been halted. Hard to see from the viewpoint of my limited understanding how it could be shown in-vivo, that cell death occurred quickly as a result of restoration of innate immunity by the ns3 antiviral.

A person is infected with the HIV virus. From day 8: The amount of virus in the blood more than doubles every day and the CD4 cell count begins to drop as the viral load (amount of virus in the body) increases. CD4 cells are the immune cells that the HIV virus depletes over time, eventually resulting in the need for anti-retroviral medication. At this stage of the seroconversion a HIV RNA PCR test would be able to detect HIV, however traditional antibody tests would come back negative.

Why don't you try to focus on survival rates rather then death rates. Try also to think about quaility of life rahter than quanity. None of know when we are going to die and to ask someone to figure out a graph for you to look at is impossible. The ladies on this forum are fighting to live , not waiting to die. If you were my son I would be very upset that you are " prepareing for me to die". If she is losing this battle, then make those times with her amount for something.
Does this Complex Atypical Endometrial Hyperplasia mean pre-cancerous IS REALLY cancer up further in the uterous? They are scaring me to death, and I feel that some of the new -to -be Dr's at the Clinic are really guessing. Maybe I am wrong, but I do know treatment is much different if you have insurance.
Without the proper care and management of diet and medications, some people get very ill very quickly, perhaps to the point of liver failure. There is no carved in granite timeline. If it were me, I would get to a hepatologist as soon as possible, and ask about nutrition and medications to help reduce the fat in your liver, if that is an issue, to stabilize your diabetes, to lose weight, if that is an issue, and to manage your varices or possible portal hypertension.

I read what you wrote and based on what you said I can tell you that your mom is not going to die in two years. read the 5 stages of denial (?), it talks about fear. I was also very afraid when I found out. I have known about my hepc for over a year, i am also geno type 1. I had a much higher viral load (20 million) and am doing fine. I have been treating for 36 wks.
my name is Randy and i too have been digagnosed with being in the final stages of cirrhosis. the cause of my cirrhosis was alchol about 24 beers a day for several years.one thing ive read over and over is that alot of people with cirrhosis dont completley stop drinking and it is a must if you are going to survive this disease. no exceptions! im only 38, seems pretty dumb doing what i did but its to late now. the best i can do is deal with the disease the best i can.

LOL Welcome and I hope you will make yourself at home. Snuggle down, get comfy. There's a lot of information and experience here with getting off Tramadol. It's not impossible, lots of peeps here now living Tram Free Lives! Love & Healing!
Overall I don't think we have much to worry about as our heath care system is better then in Liberia, as why you see the mass amounts of death. But overall you look at what has gone on in medicine and you see more and more of these "super bugs" as Dr's have made it a common practice to medicate for no reason. Which causes the body and the virus to develop a tolerance/immunity which causes bigger issues.
You saying you have thalasemia anemia could be a problem in treating, have you thought about seeing another doctor? From what you have said it sounds like your in very early stages of cirrhosis so i really doubt you could register for a transplant yet. Many people (me included) have had cirrhosis for many years and are doing just fine, talk with another doctor and don't rule out at lease trying tx........ Good luck!
My Prove 1 clinic is participating in the Phase 3 trial, and preparing to start in January. The trail design is in final stages of FDA approval, and they are registering subjects ready for screening as soon as the flag drops. This clinic tends to be among the very early starters for each of the Vertex trials.
1) Lumbarization of the S1 vertical body demonstrated. 2) GRADE 1 Degenerative subluxation at the L5-S1 Level with mild sac deformity. There are multiple bulges and sites of posterior element degeneration without significant central stenosis or critical neural foraminal encroachment. However, facet arthopathy is severe at the L5-S1 level bilaterally. My Pcp had me do another MRI of the brain because Im having bilateral leg weakness, fatigue, confusion, and trouble focusing my eyes.
This causes the liver to not function as it should. In the early stages of cirrhosis you may not know it is happening. Eventually, cirrhosis can cause complete liver failure where the liver completely stops working. Cirrhosis can be caused by drinking too much alcohol, hepatitis, certain diseases, medications, and changes in the area around the liver itself causing blockage of the biliary tract (the tube the carries bile).
