In 1983 surg. on right renal cyst at last moment very tramatic. Lower lumbar parac. cyst and both breast non-cancererous. I have stare seizures and one stroke causing inability to say what I was thinking. In August another MRI to see if brain tumor is growing. I am allergic to IVP dye and am a bit worried about any dye! Avatar f tn The types of symptoms your experiencing would need to be associated with the specific location that the removal of the brain tumor and radiation occurred for it to be a likely causation of symptoms..... "The onset of gliosis can be either beneficial or detrimental to the central nervous system. The gliosis helps the surrounding healthy cells from further harm or damage. This is achieved by containing the damaged and unhealthy neurons.
Avatar n tn Even if you are found to have cancer there are different types of cancer and stages or grades of cancer. A lot of your outcome will depend on the size of the tumor, whether the tumor cells are well differentiated meaning they are slow growing and almost complete in structure or poorly differentiated meaning they are not well organized and grow faster, whether you have positive lymph nodes, perineural invasion, etc. See a surgeon, have a biopsy, and wait for the pathology.
Avatar n tn you can ask your dr to check for pseudotumor cerebri it has the symptoms of a tumor but no tumor its a spinal fluid build up that causes intracranial pressure the mri and cat scans will be normal if you have it usually an eye dr or spinal tap is used to diagnosis
1933354 tn?1323362834 s and they scared me to death, however I have since seen a Cardiologist and recieved a good bill of health. My question is that recently, I have been getting new symptoms that are scaring me. I sit and work at a computer desk all day, and sometimes I will get a feeling of disorientation, almost like the floor is bouncing, my neck gets stiff, and I get a pulsating feeling in my brain that makes it feel like my head will pop. I have also been getting an occasional burning sensation in my left ear.
Avatar f tn Because of medication I am on for a brain tumor I had to test at the Dr. right away to be sure as I have to stop taking the meds. They had me do blood and urine as they weren't sure urine would test positive at only 4 weeks. They both came back positive and my quantity of HGC was at 121. Has anyone else known there level? This is my fourth baby and I have never been told my levels before. Hoping for the best!
Avatar m tn Or he had epilepsy and now has a brain tumor? Do you know the type of brain tumor? Do you have copies of any of the reports from the MRIs or CTs? Or the EEGs? There are first aid protocols for the seizures - you should learn them - ask the nurses about what to do (don't put anything in his mouth) but basically you can leave him alone unless he vomits and then you should turn him on the side so he does not choke.
Avatar m tn Please keep in mind that this varies according to the location of the metastisis. I personally know of survivors of many years with mets to the bone. It would also depend on your Mother's general health and what treatment will be prescribed. Another point is that all the lumps you describe in your Mother's breasts may not be cancerous; it would only take one malignant lump to cause the metastisis. Kindest regards ....
Avatar n tn I, like you, am constantly thinking of death and what if I have a brain tumor, or stomach cancer, or leukemia, or I am having a heart attack. I have heard many wild symptoms of brain tumors but by the most part you cannot fixate on the "what if" because it will drive you absolutely insane. My therapist has helped me a lot in trying not to fixate on every little pain or numbness or twitch that I have.
Avatar f tn t agree more with caregiver22. Amongst others, the possibility of a brain tumor is very much there. You may also have small areas of reduced blood flow. Differentials are numerous. Please avoid any confusion and consult a Neurologist soon.
Avatar m tn t feel shortness of breath or have panic attack). It is more of a nagging constant thinking of what if it is brain tumor or MS, thoughts of being handicapped and dependent and constant thoughts of death. It is really affecting my life now (especially since I feel extremely lonely without her) and I find it hard to focus on work. I saw a GP yesterday and he prescribed Hydroxyzine HCL (25mg). Anyone has any experienced with taking this medication? I didn't take it yet.
Avatar n tn I would have him get an MRI done and some brain electricity tests done. Those symptoms are possibly of a tumor or he may need to get on an anxiety or calming medicine to help. Keeping up with meals, sleep, and hydration also are key.
Avatar f tn Hi! OMG - your post sounds exactly like it was me that wrote it! I have all those feelings at the moment and they have actually just returned after getting some relief from them for a couple of months. It honestly is soooo unpleasant, especially as the symptoms seem to just creep up out of nowhere! For the past 2 days, I have also been getting those 'swings' of nausea in my stomach too as if something bad's about to happen.

Avatar f tn My sons pahology took 2 weeks as they sent the section to 2 pathologists. I have heard that they "grow" the tumor and check the various stages. Hope all goes well.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your question. These symptoms may occur due to any tumor in brain, but if all of your reports came back normal this will be the least likely possibility. Therefore, in your case this could be a panic or anxiety disorder that you have faced during last event and currently experiencing.
Avatar f tn Her behavior changes do sound to me like she may have had a brain tumor; my Siberian husky died of a brain tumor. Though hard for you to see the aftermath of, during a seizure, the animal is out of it. It sounds like your beloved dog did not regain consciousness, so I think you should be encouraged that she was not aware and in pain.
Avatar m tn The signal enhancement can be due to infection, inflammation or due to a tumor. If the MRI was done for a subarachnoid tumor, then possibly this has spread along the mentioned cranial nerves. Please discuss this with a doctor who can examine you to clinically correlate the findings. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn listed on the death certificate that the primary cause of death was from gliobastoma multiforme. He was also receiving compensation for agent orange related diabetes and stomach ulcers, but this was listed as a contributory cause. I been sent a stack of papers to fill out asking me to show that the brain cancer was Agent orange related.
Avatar n tn I had that done in 07. But it was all very frightening discovering out of the blue that you have a brain tumor and then having brain surgery for 7 hrs and then still another procedure (GK). I get yearly MRI's which I suppose I will get for the rest of my life. I am 58yrs old.
Avatar m tn I have to had a ct scan done a year ago! And your chances of getting getting a brain tumor or even a tumor from radation is very slim! But i know when you have anxiety its hard to accecpt, trust me I've been there!

976897 tn?1379167602 It was several hours before she got to the hospital and was actually considered dead because of her pupils and having no brain activity. They put her onto a bypass machine which gradually warmed her blood and her heart actually started beating again. A few days later she woke up and started her slow recovery. She is now totally normal. This goes against everything believed about death. There was no brain activity at all, yet she kept her memories and all body functions.
Avatar f tn My relative told her brain neurosurgeon, who wanted to shave hair, open her skull and remove it that it was gamma knife or nothing (her father died from a brain tumor discovered when it was already the size of lemon). So they referred her for gamma knife and she is very glad she did it. That was back in Feb. 2002. The gamma rays are pointed at the tumor after a double dye MRI and mapping. Your head is locked by screws in a helmet so it will not move.
