Yes, 20 days of doxy is the 'standard' treatment, but many fine and knowledgeable MDs believe that this 'standard' is hugely inadequate because of the particular characteristics of Lyme. One of those characteristics is a very slow reproductive cycle compared to other bacteria, and it is when dividing that bacteria are most susceptible to antibiotics.
Sometimes when we'd ask him to squeeze my hand he would, but most of the time he did not. What I know of cirrhosis, is that it is a slow and painful death. My mother died years ago of cancer -- cirrhosis is not so very much different, is it.
I was cutting hair in a barber shop 15 years ago, and suddenly felt like I was going to faint. I staggered, and had to go sit down. I've been dizzy off and on ever since. I had all kinds of tests, and finally went to a neurologist. After MRI's, EEG's, spinal taps, etc., he told me it was "probable" that I had MS. (Multiple Sclerosis). As scary as that sounds, it was better than some of the other "options" like brain or eye tumors, or spinal tumors.

They finally saw a doctor who diagnosed a brain disorder - i think a portion of the brain was swollen. The child had surgery and almost immediately began sleeping normally at night. I'm not sure if back pain was involved with this child. Now, this is a simple t.v. story and I would not pretend to know a thing about your situation. But I mention it only as one possibility, something to question and look into.

If the sensory cortex in the brain has been bruised because of your injury, a gradual recovery of sensation may be possible. If the area has been torn, it is unlikely to return to normal functioning. Eat a hot meal with a cold salad for different temperature experiences. Try spicy food from Eastern cuisines that cause sensations on the tongue. Because of medication I am on for a brain tumor I had to test at the Dr. right away to be sure as I have to stop taking the meds. They had me do blood and urine as they weren't sure urine would test positive at only 4 weeks. They both came back positive and my quantity of HGC was at 121. Has anyone else known there level? This is my fourth baby and I have never been told my levels before. Hoping for the best!
The trips we took in the camper. The agony of the death of our beloved dog, that we faced together. The grave he silently dug there in the soil...I remember--this was the only time I ever saw him cry, silently digging that grave in the hard packed earth. (oh dear, this is not the direction I wanted to go). We just talked about the old times. Mr. Peek looked wistful. When we got home, I started crying alone in the guest room, as usual.
Your mother needs to see an oncologist to have an understanding of what is going on. I believe that the tumor or whatever cancer cells they found can be tested to know their origin. Personally, I have never heard of anyone having ovarian cancer, without some sort of mass in their pelvic region. Get a copy of your moms reports and seek other opinions. I think that there is information missing. Stage IV cancer is no longer a death sentence.

No one has an easy time going through advanced liver disease. Psychologically this disease has many ups and downs. Confronting the possibility of death is not something any of us having been educated about. We each have to find our own path to finding inner hope and strength. It is a long process over many years. At first is especially difficult because it is all new. We have never imagined this could happen to us. There is a number of stages we must go through before we find peace.
So if you look at the film it will say something weighted etc. That way they can tell if it is a cyst or tumor and the nature of it being cyst or tumor. Odd that they are not telling you anything at all though... you are her mother! Just FYI - some people are born with cysts - and they can get quite large so they need to be removed. Lets hope it is that. Keep us posted. I am moving over the next couple of days so if I am not responding - that is the reason.
And Like Nancy in my crazy red shoulder padded double breasted BLAZER, I JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS!!! ... and now I'll rest, try and let some of the bad energy of the pain and this last week go so I can work all weekend and next week too. One day at a time. I was pretty sure last night when I got home and was so tired and disoriented that today might be like this. It is worth it.No matter what. Getting off this stuff will save me a HUGE amount of pain in the future. I liked waking up happy!
I would recommend that you get an EMG/nerve conduction study of your upper extremity (to evaluate for carpal tunnel) and the lower extremity (to evaluate for a pinched nerve). I would also suggest an MRI of your brain and lumbar spine with contrast to evaluate for multiple sclerosis and lumbar disc/degenerative disease respectively. If the MRI of the brain is negative then a MRI of the Cervical spine, a lumbar puncture, and somatosensory evoked potentials will give additional information.
