He referred me to a cardiologist and he did an ekg and then just pushed it off and said I'm fine. Everyday I have the left side chest pain that is like right over my heart and it's like an intermittent pinching pain. It feels like its coming from my heart. What could be causing this??? Today I had it really bad and my left arm started to ache, which it does sometimes with the chest pain, so I checked my b/p at wal-mart on one of those machines and it said 187/97!!!!!
For the past week I have had the worst, almost stabbing pain under my left breast. I can't even lay on my left side without getting a severe "pinching" feeling. It doesn't sound like you have that. The last thing I get stabbing pain with is GERD. I get bad stabbing chest pain with gas pain due to GERD. I don't get it all the time it is once in a while and not necessarily when I breath in. It is when I lay down. I don't know which one it is you have if any. But these are some suggestions for you. It sounds most like the pleuracy. Let me know what the doctor says if you go in.
For the last 2 months I have been having a sharp intermittent stabbing pain in the left side. The center of the pain seems to be located to the lower ribs. I am confused as to the reason for this pain: The pain seems to radiate a lot, sometimes around to the lower left back, but mostly down the left side of the abdomen in various places.
The chest pain sounds like what we call chest wall pain; pain that arises from the skin, ribs, cartilage, muscles or intercostal nerves, to be distinguished from that which arises from the internal structures, such as the lung, heart and pleura. That you can reproduce the pain by altering your body position also suggests that it may be musculoskeletal pain.
Her pelvis is also slightly misaligned on the left hand side, resulting in an increase in pressure to the left rib cage. The chest pain she experienced was actually a result of her spine being slightly curved. Something that unfortunately was never noticed till now and she's in her late twenties. The spine being curved put pressure on her chest wall, leading to it being inflamed and eventually also some ribs becoming inflamed, which was the severe pain she experienced more recently.
I have had 3 ekg's with no answers and every doctor I visit have no answers as to what I am experiencing. There is a stabbing pain that takes up the left side of my breast, and I can feel the pain get worse as my heart beats. However the pain never exceeds 30 seconds, and I get light headed like I am going to faint and it feels as though a flap is delaying. It happens almost every day, but I don't make enough for insurance so I'm stuck without being able to see a doctor.

I've been on Doxycycline for 2 weeks now and most of symptoms have gone but the chest pains are getting more frequent. It is a sharp stabbing pain below my left breast that sometimes radiates to under my left arm. It can come and go every few minutes for up to several hours. I've also had a feeling of not getting enough air. Also, when my chest hurts the veins in my left hand and wrist are more prominent than usual. It looks like my veins have been traced with purple marker.

I am 40 years old and have a history of palpatations, however, recently I have been experiencing an intermittent sharp stabbing pain on my upper left chest area near the heart. This can occur during the palps, but not usually. At other times, I get a pain under my breast or over to the right side. That pain is more of a gnawing, hard to describe pain. These pain don't last long, maybe only a few seconds to a minute. About a year ago, I had a stress echo done that was normal.

I'm posting here for lack of a better place. I've had left side pain, somewhat localized around third rib from bottom, for about 2 months. They've run EKG, blood enzymes, stress test, rib xrays, CT scan (left lung) and 3 chest xrays. All negative. The CT & chest xrays were prompted due to a serious lung infection I had 3 years ago (two golf ball sized abcesses lower left lobe, unkown origin/cause, responded to IV antibiotics - hospitalized 7 days).
I have had a mild chest pain for the last month and a half, the pain is almost constant, I have been to the ER and to my regular dr, they have done blood work, chest xrays, and ekg's. Hi I'm a 20 year old man now and for the past 5 or 6 years now I've been getting these sharp stabbing pains in my chest. They occur on the left side but are still very close to the middle and are always in the same spot. The severity of these pains varies sometimes and they have never hindered me in any way. Also these pains come and go at any time, this past year having the most frequent of occurrences.
This happened a few days ago, when I woke up on my right side, and then again today. Just a brief, sharp pain there on the left side like under the breast bone area but went away in seconds. No pain at all during the day or otherwise. Should I be worried about this? Im 31 but have had many heart tests over the years due to anxiety and also occasionaly tachycardia.
