Avatar f tn It seems as though the Sprintec contains the same level of hormones as are in the third week the Tri Sprintec - is this correct? Also, I keep reading that it's the norgestimate that helps with acne due to it's low androgenic activity. Do the hormones in the pill "replace" my body's natural hormones, or how do they affect me? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
Avatar f tn I recently went through a terrible breakup, emotions and estrogen over the top. During this time I slept with a guy (status unknown) used a condom, but it broke and he did not finish. A month later, I got a yeast infection (common) and successfully treated it with monistat. A week after I got a bad UTI, treated with bactrum and subsequently treated with Cipro due to kidney infection. I was taking BC sprintec (3 month doses) at the time in which my BC stopped working...
Avatar m tn Yesterday my dermatologist prescribed me 25mg Spironolactone 2xD and Tri-Sprintec BCP to help clear my skin up. I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body. I know that birth control pills increase estrogen levels in the body and that spironolactone is an antiandrogen drug, and naturally the body will replace androgens with estrogen.
Avatar n tn I have the same problem. My gyno told me that it might just be some beign bleeding from my birth control because I just switched from YAZ to LoEstren24. I've read that sometimes when you change the level of estrogen that you are taking from high to lower your body freaks out and thinks that it needs to menstruate. She also asked me if I had changed sexual partners because of the possibility of chlamydia and gonnhrea.

Avatar n tn For the most part, it has an inverse relationship to estrogen level. Since you do not have ovaries and do not take estrogen, it makes sense that your FSH is high. I also do not have ovaries but I take estrogen. When my estrogen level gets rather high, my FSH is low (in the range of a menstruating woman). When my estrogen is on the lower side, my FSH rises.

Avatar f tn Hi Kay, Here is something you may find intresting Tri-Sprintec contains female hormones and therefore alters your female gynecological symptoms. Tri-Sprintec typically causes nausea, bloating, stomach cramps, breast pain, vaginal discharge, menstrual irregularities and changes in your appetite and weight. Tri-Sprintec can affect your appearance and cause increased hair growth, loss of hair or freckling of your skin. It can cause nervousness, a headache and fatigue.
655897 tn?1328018445 Hi kmcarino! I'm honestly not sure what's a normal estrogen level after O...don't think I've ever had that checked before in the 2WW...but your progesterone level sounds great! And the cramps could be a good sign too! Best of luck this month!!!
633143 tn?1262133535 Hi. I'm writing for my younger sister. She's 19 years old and was put on Sprintec about 2 months ago. She doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, is in good physical health, and has no known medical conditions. This is the the third or fourth pill her doctor has had her on since December. She's been having an awful time with all of them, but the side effects were all just things like being overly emotional, being nauseous, or having cramps.
Avatar f tn I stopped taking Sprintec 28 at the starting of the 3rd weeks blue pills. The day after i stopped the pill i started seeing a brownish/redish discharge. The next day i started bleeding like my period had started. This lasted for 5-6 days. Was this my normal period or withdrawl bleeding? I mainly stopped taking the pill because my husband and i noticed signs of possibly being pregnant an also we want to have another child.....help.
Avatar m tn I just started using the birth control Sprintec a week ago. I had a stroke on Monday. I cannot walk well, but other than that I have recovered quickly. I will be 20 on Saturday. I am only 19. I want to know how many others are out there who have taken sprintec and either had a TIA or a stroke due the birth control...is there anyone else?
Avatar f tn In a 6 month period my estrogen level went from below 20 to over 2300. What could it be? I am a 'healthy' 53 year old female. 5' 5" and 140 lbs. I have been in menapause for 5 years. (no period). I have taken herbal supplement, "Estroven" since the beginning. I have not had HORRIBLE hot flashes, night sweats or mood swings. However, I have had vaginal dryness. A couple of years ago, I began using Estring 2mg - which helped.
655897 tn?1328018445 My estrogen level is over 2000. I am on day 11 of my Gonal F shot and will take at least one more shot tomorrow on day 12. My IUi will probably be on Wednesday. Does this estrogen level seem really high to anyone? For those of you who have gotten hyperstimulated, what was your level close to the time of the trigger shot or IUI? I have to go in again tomorrow for u/s and b/w.
Avatar n tn My next cycle was regular 28days. One day 1 of my period I started tri-sprintec, but discontinued it after 3 pills. This month my period is now going on 5 days late and 2 pregnancy tests have been negative. Is this normal? I did have unprotected sex during this month, but my husband did not ejaculate inside of me. Please help...
Avatar f tn I've been on Sprintec for over 6 months now and have had issues with random heavy spotting for about 3.5 months now. The spotting seems to just start out of nowhere at times, although I have noticed that the spotting will occur when I am more stressed (other times it will just happen when I'm not stressed at all). I've tried to be really consistent about taking my pill at the same time every single night, so I'm unsure what would cause me to spot so frequently and heavily.
Avatar m tn Another factor that can reduce the testo levels in obese persons is the high level of estrogen, which is also used by the brain to assess the teso level. You could probably check the estrogen and SHBG levels also. In any case, I do not feel you need to go for TRT, only my opinion, you should check up with your doctor.
Avatar f tn When I was 15 the docs decided to put me on a progesterone based birth control (Tri-Sprintec) to start my periods and I’ve been on and off that same birth control since then. Tri sprintec has always worked for me, regular periods, no complications.
655897 tn?1328018445 Does anyone know what their estrogen level was around a week after your IUI or ovulation? Mine is 820. Is that a good sign? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hello, An elevated circulating total testosterone level and dehydroepiandiosterone sulfate (DHEAS) level have been proposed as screening methods for detecting ovarian and adrenal androgen-secreting neoplasms and PCOS. PCOS is a problem in which a woman’s hormones are out of balance. So ovaries develop more follicles than normal every month.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Sprintec for almost a month now and its caused my breasts to swell and nausea so far, but those side effects have gone away. Now my vaginal area is itchy and uncomfortable and I think it might be the pills. Should I call my doctor and set up an appointment to check and make sure its the pills and nothing serious?
Avatar n tn Ive be taking sprintec for 3months forgot to refill my prescription so I have missed 4 pills in a row sunday-wednesday they would all be blue pills. I have had intercourse with in theses days. Should I take a pregnancy test before I start back on the pill? If so when should I take the pregnancy test?
Avatar f tn I did a hormonal imbalance test and it turns out my estrogen level is at 203. The doctor told me to eat healthy, no carbs and no sugar. They also say irregular period is due to stress. I did my research stress leads to high estrogen. So I am guessing that is what causing it to be high. But I also read eating foods with lots of vitamins (ex. Selenium. Melatonin, vitamin b, magnesium, etc.) helps reduce it. But all this time I've been on a diet and I have been eating all of that.
Avatar n tn The TSH is a stress level Sally - If estrogen induced low thyroid - then getting off estrogen now pregnant could be normalizing. She's too early in this to assume thyroid meds are going to help. Yet I do understand where you are coming from on the 1st trimester.
Avatar f tn They say i have symptoms of pcos (facial hair and acne) they tested me and my DHEAS LEVEL and TESTOSTERONE were kinda high but all my other hormones were fine. So they started me on SPRINTEC N SPIRONPROLACTONE and i was wondering will this help or do i need to try METFORMIN OR CLOMID.... i also have a cyst on my right ovary. What is the next step for me.
